CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE || QUESTIONS

Jade added to my mum's questions and l looked at Craig with pleading eyes, asking for his help with the question, he looked away and I looked at Nash, he too looked away and I looked back at my mum and Jade, they were looking at me waiting for my response.

I didn't know what to reply so I just told them they will meet him soon, but my mum knew I was lying and looked at Craig, Craig looked away and my mum looked back at me, I put my face down, she asked me to tell her the truth and nothing but the truth, I went on to explain everything to her, I told her Adrian is married to a man named Frankie, told her about Balsham and even Balsham's hatred for Adrian's husband, but I skipped the part of Adrian having sex with his husband and it affecting me, I also skipped the part that Craig bit me, I didn't think it was my place to tell her, Craig will tell her if he wants her to know...I told my mum the rest of the story and she took it all in trying to digest the whole information.

"So Adrian is married, and he has a man living inside him who knows you're his mate, and this man doesn't like Frankie, Woah that's a lot to process," my mum said and Jade agreed...

"What did the High Priestess say about it?" My mum asked,

"She asked me to wait for him," I told her, "But how long am I supposed to wait for him. I am supposed to Mate with him and bring him back home with me...but it seems almost impossible," I said to my mum almost sobbing.

I felt frustrated and my mum could feel it too,

"Actually, the whole Pack feels your frustration," Nash said to me, "And it makes the Pack vulnerable," Jade agreed to it...

The Alpha and Pack Bond was very strong and the Pack felt everything I felt,

"I don't know what to do mum," I told my mum Sincerely...she stood and came over to my seat pulled me up and hugged me.. then she held my face and told me I could do anything I set my heart on...

"Someone is headed here," My sister said, my sister has a gift of perception, she could perceive intentions from miles away, especially if the intentions of the person had any connection with us...

Everyone suddenly became alert and she said there was no need for us to be alert that the person coming was harmless and the person was not a total stranger, she said smiling.

"Why are you smiling about that, Craig asked curiously," she laughed and said it wasn't his business. a few minutes later I heard a car pull into the compound and she happily leapt and stood, then it hit me, that enticing and unique scents that only he had.

It was Adrian, it was my MATE. What is he doing here? I could hear him step out of his car and close his car door...I could hear his footsteps heading to the door thanks to my wolfly instinct.

I could feel his breath, Craig looked at me asking what I will do, I knew he was worried about me, but even I didn't know what or how I was supposed to react, so I just sat there.

My sister leapt happily to the door to welcome him.

When Jade got to the door, she hugged him and he hugged her back confusingly.

"Hi Jade, my name is Adrian, ohh right sorry you already know my name he said... I stood up and looked towards the door and at the same time my sister pointed at me,

"Viviano is over there," and he turned to look inside and his eyes met mine, and we stood there locking eyes with each other, I felt my head spinning, my legs felt like there were dipped into hot oil and there were about to melt...

I sat down and I heard Jade giggle and pulled him inside, "Come to say hello to my mum," she said to him and he just followed her..seeing him left me with a myriad of emotions, I felt happy, scared, angry and hatred. I don't know where all those emotions came from but that was exactly how I felt.

Jade brought him to my mum's presence and my mum stood up and hugged him too, telling him how happy she was to meet him...he said he was happy to meet her too and with that my mum asked him to sit down. Roman bought a class of juice and served him. he said his thanks and drank it shyly.

I was looking at him sternly, he looked up and met my eyes and immediately looked away, he turned and saw Craig, he said hi to Craig, apparently, he just noticed Craig's presence...Craig replied him hi back and he became quiet again, it was very awkward.

"So, Adrian, Vivia tells me you're married, how is your husband doing? how many years have you guys been married? how did you two meet? my mum questioned him several questions at the same time...

"Come on mum, ask him one question at a time," I told my mother and she just said ohhhh and smiled...

"It's fine I can answer her," He said looking at me with pleading eyes...I looked away and became quiet again, he looked dissatisfied and disappointed with my reaction and just sipped his juice. Then he started telling my mum his story...

I watched his talk with my mother about his husband with so many smiles on his face, he was talking about Frankie so happily, that my wolf had to retreat, it was obvious he cared about Frankie genuinely, more genuinely than he cared to admit, I went to wonder, if he would look at me if not for the mate bond.

What he felt for Frankie was the most genuine love, it came from his heart, not any mate pull, that thought made me very sad and discontented.

I believe in the Moon Goddess and the mate bond, but sometimes I can't help but wonder, how genuine love will feel like, without the mate bond.

I glanced at Craig, just to find his eyes on my face already when my eyes met his, he looked away shyly, his cheeks flushed like a rosy pink. I smiled at his embarrassment, he eyed me up and down, then pointed at Adrian, I was bored listening to Adrian talk about Frankie.
