Millie makes dinner for Dina

"They can only protect her from other humans. But what about the other powerful beings. I still don't think this is a good idea," Mike said and sat comfortably on the sofa.

"Alright fine. If you don't want to go anywhere then let us at least party inside our house." Benjamin suggested while looking at him with puppy eyes.

"I don't want to do anything today, Dad. How could you be so cool after so many things had happened around us? Dina is pregnant because of my carelessness and Tina is missing because of your carelessness. I think we should at least find out the people responsible for these two incidents first." Mike said and closed his eyes in frustration.

He was not sure how he could inform Dina about her current condition. 'Isn't everything going fine until now? Why did it turn out into a sticky situation all of a sudden?' He kicked the coffee table and stood up.

"I am going out to find if I could get any clue in the nightclub. The one Dina went to that day..." Mike informed his dad and got ready to go out.

Just hearing the word night club, made Benjamin's eye glow profoundly. He stood up and dashed behind Mike.

"Fine, then. I will accompany you to this place called the nightclub. Maybe as you said, we might find some clue over there." He announced with a poker face but inside his mind, he was dancing in excitement.

Even though Mike already knew what was going on in his dad's mind, he didn't say anything to stop Benjamin from following him. They both left the house together as Mike understood that it would be of no use even if he rejects his dad. Benjamin would definitely accompany him one way or another. He let him stick along with him so that he could keep an eye on his father.

After Mike left Dina's house, Millie turned towards Kara and asked, "What does Dina usually love to eat? If she likes something in particular then tell me, I will cook for her. I never did anything for her from the time she was born until now. I want to try my best to do everything that I could and make up for all those missed days."

"She is not a picky eater and eats anything that I make," Kara said as she never saw Dina reject any food.

She was a healthy eater and also, in recent days her appetite had increased a lot. So, Kara had now started to make food for four people. As she thought about that, Kara informed Millie,

"We just have to make everything in large quantities and she will be happy."

Millie laughed after hearing that Dina's palate is good.

"Sure, I will cook my signature dishes that Tina likes to eat. Maybe both of them might have the same taste buds other than looking alike." Millie said and rushed towards the kitchen excitedly.

After looking at enthusiastic Millie, Kara took a deep breath and sighed. She thought Millie was too eager to please Dina in front of her. At the same time, she could not believe that Millie might be a bad person.

'Still, why did she allow the couple to leave the baby alone in the hospital to suffer? I know that everyone thought that the baby was born dead. But isn't it, their responsibility to take care of other formalities at least? Thankfully, I was there with Dina at that time and saw that she was alive. Or else...' She could not imagine what could have happened then and she shivered.

She bent down and kissed Dina's forehead. 'My baby girl! Should I just keep you to myself and not send you away?' Kara wondered.

"Hey, I am sorry to disturb you. But I can't find the ingredients required for preparing the food," Millie said while scratching her head.

"Please don't say sorry, I am coming right away... I should have helped you without asking. I was just lost in thoughts thinking about Dina's current situation." Kara hurriedly walked inside the kitchen.

"That's ok. I understand. Are you sure we don't have to take her to the hospital?" Millie asked.

"I did a general check-up and everything seemed fine. Maybe she was distressed after hearing the shocking news. We will let her rest for a few hours and if there is no progress after that, then we will get her admitted to a hospital." Kara said in a neutral tone.

When Millie noticed Kara's unsettled face, she thought Kara didn't like that she was using her kitchen.

"If you do not want me to cook in your kitchen then I can order food from outside. I know a very good restaurant nearby. Usually, they take more time to deliver but you can expect high-quality food from there. They don't add any artificial flavors and all the ingredients they use are always fresh." Millie suggested, thinking that Kara did not like her idea to cook

"No, no... That won't be necessary. Dina only likes to eat homemade food and very occasionally she would eat outside food. If you really want to cook then please feel free to use my kitchen. If needed then I can help you with cooking," Kara shook her hands in front of her and said in a hurry.

After Kara gave her all the necessary ingredients Millie wanted, she stood near the entrance of the kitchen. Millie got busy with preparing the food while Kara kept an eye on sleeping, Dina.

Kara's mind became flustered when she noticed Millie's happy face. She seemed like she was enjoying cooking food for Dina. She couldn't understand if what she was seeing was the true face or was Millie hiding something from her.

'When I called to inform them about Dina several years back, why did they not talk to me properly or even pick my calls later.' She had lots of questions to ask but she hesitated.

She did not want to hurt Millie's feelings. At the same time, she needed to make sure that they were good people. With whom, Kara could send Dina without any worry.

She did not want to offend the old lady who was her daughter's grandmother. Moreover, even though Emma's parents accepted Dina, they never once came here especially for Dina, and cooked any of her favorite meals.

They did not treat her badly but at the same time, they were also not so attached to her as well. Especially after they came to know about her health issues, they tried to stay away from her.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is the medical issue you were mentioning earlier that Dina has?" Millie asked slowly.

Kara came out of her daze and replied, "That… I think it would be better if Dina explains it to you personally. I don't think I will be able to tell you clearly. Moreover, she was saying that she had almost recovered and the symptoms are not showing up from this past month."

Millie nodded her head and didn't force Kara after that. They both kept on talking about some random topics as the silence around them made the environment more awkward.
