My Novel Is Alive

A man who writes a fantasy novel finds himself astounded as the words suddenly manifest on the canvas without his direct input. His hands are far from the keyboard, yet the canvas continues to fill with writing, weaving its own story.

Mad Scientist

"Wait..." I said.

They both turned to me.

"Didn't you say earlier that the cadaver tube was used to freeze the first king?" I asked.

Barlon nodded.

"Then what happen? Is the king didn't get frozen because he disappeared?"

"Wait a moment, young man... I haven't finished the story yet," answered Barlon.

I nodded.

"Several years after Elerona's ancestor became king, one of the knights who was on an expedition in the dungeon discovered the machine. Inside there, is a clear cadaver tube," he explained.

I looked at Barlon's face. In a dungeon huh? Maybe there was something inside that dungeon… and maybe this was just a coincidence, but surely the king and I were different because I woke up inside… a laboratory?

Barlon continued, "After that, the knights informed the second king, King Ababil."

Elerona nodded with a proud smile hearing the name of her ancestor.

"King Ababil told the knights to move him to a closed laboratory that only a few people know about… but there are also rumors," Barlon stopped talking and looked at the two of us.

"What's that?" Elerona asked.

"The scientists were traitors, and they planned to resurrect the first king to control it and destroy the world."

Barlon continued the story seriously, "The scientists who were supposed to guard this secret actually betrayed them. They wanted the power of the first king to be used as a weapon of destruction, control his will, and use him for dark purposes."

Elerona looked at me and Barlon with eyes full of questions. I pondered for a moment, trying to piece together the common thread of this ever-developing story.

"So…? What happened?" I asked.

"The knights have tried various ways to find that place, but unfortunately it is very difficult because the place is very hidden. Even the son of King Ababil who became the third king had not found it. Until now, these scientists continue to threaten this kingdom indirectly, whether through biological weapons, the spread of viruses, or other means."

Elerona looked worried, realizing that this burden seemed to be her inheritance. I also feel responsible for seeking answers regarding my identity which is increasingly intertwined with this dark history.

"So, what can we do now?" I asked, trying to find a solution.

Srek! Srek! Srek!

Prang! Prang! Prang!

Busy voices could be heard outside the room, we all fell silent hearing the crowd, people's fast footsteps, and also the sound of armor clanging loudly.

Elerona stood up, "Let me check," she said as she walked towards the door.

I just nodded.

Elerona opened the door and saw the knights inside the castle trying to run out and the maids running inside.

"What is this!?" Elerona shouted.

One of the knights stopped walking and looked at Elerona, "Princess, please take cover! The Mad Scientists come and attack."

Barlon who heard this shook his head with a smile, "We just talked about it, they have already come."

Hearing this from Barlon, realized that the Mad Scientist was a traitorous scientist.

Elerona closed the door again.

Barlon looked at Elerona who was standing at the door, "The timing is perfect, isn't it..."

Elerona just nodded with a gloomy face.

I'm confused, who should I support. On the other hand, in the Prophet group, they say that this kingdom is very corrupt, but on the other hand... I don't want to make Elerona hate me if I betray this kingdom.

The situation was getting more complicated and I felt pressured by two difficult choices. Barlon saw the confusion on my and Elerona's faces, then he gave his gaze.

"You two have an important role in maintaining this balance. Elerona, as the heir to the kingdom, you must maintain justice and bring peace. "Kratia, you are Elerona's butler. With the power and knowledge you have, you can help Elerona to uncover this secret and face the threat of the Mad Scientists," said Barlon.

"But I—" My words were cut off by Elerona's expression.

Elerona looked at me, and I could see the uncertainty in her eyes. I nodded in agreement with Barlon's words, "We must work together to protect this kingdom."

Elerona nodded, "You are right, Kratia. We have to work together and find a way to stop these Mad Scientists."

Barlon smiled, "You two have great potential. Come on, let's face this threat together."

We both walked out of the room and prepared to face a challenge greater than we had ever imagined.

"We are going to fight?" I asked a little skeptically.

Elerona nodded, "I'll change into tighter clothes so it's not difficult to move. Kratia, you can go out of the castle first and find out where the scientists are, okay?"

I nodded and ran out of the castle, contemplating how best to find the Mad Scientists and stop their threat.

I stepped out of the castle, along the wide courtyard. The sun began to dim on the western horizon, leaving the evening sky glowing with orange and purple colors. The weather was calm, but the tension in the air was palpable.

"Where should I start?" I muttered to myself, trying to plan my next steps. I didn't have any definite clues as to the whereabouts of the Mad Scientists, and searching for them across a wide area would likely take some time.

As I approached the castle gate, I saw a group of tense knights, standing at attention around the gate. They appear to be holding up the gate to prevent the arrival of evil scientists.

I approached one of the knights who seemed to be the leader. "What happen? Is there a threat from scientists?" I asked.

The knight turned to me, and his face looked serious. "Yes, there are reports that Mad Scientists are heading to this castle. We must protect this kingdom and not let them destroy the peace."

I nodded, "I will help you hold them off. Do you know where they are?"

The leader of the knights gave instructions, and together we prepared ourselves to face any possible attacks from the Mad Scientists.

Then a female knight appeared from another direction on a horse.

"Arshley is coming!" shouted one of the soldiers.

She… ah yes, I remember he was the one who brought me to the interrogation room, one of the knight leaders, Arshley. Her face is full of determination and firmness, and she seems ready to lead the defense against the threat of the Mad Scientists.

She stopped outside the castle gates, still riding her horse. "Good, you are here. Some scientists are attacking remote places," he said.

When she stopped talking, she looked around at the formation of the knights holding back, then her eyes accidentally fell on me. "You, yes you… Kratia, aren't you? How about you join me in fighting against those scientists?"

I nodded in agreement at Arshley's offer. "Of course, I will help fight those scientists. We have to prevent them from destroying this kingdom."

Arshley smiled, "Good. We'll be moving soon. Knights, prepare to protect this castle. Kratia, hop on."

The soldiers guarding the gate opened it a little to let me out, I got on Arshley's horse behind, the two of us rolled out of the castle gate towards a remote place attacked by scientists.

During the trip, Arshley provided some more information. "Those scientists seem to be trying to search for something inside that remote place. We don't know exactly what they are looking for, but we have to stop them before they succeed."

As we approached the location of the attack, there were roars and explosions in the distance. We quickened our horses' pace to reach the scene.

We passed markets and housing estates, following the sounds of rumblings and explosions that were getting closer. Arshley continued to lead, her eyes filled with determination and alertness. The air was tense, and the evening breeze carried the distinctive scent of the forest.

Arriving in a remote place, we found Mad Scientists busy conducting experiments amidst the ruins of ancient buildings.

They seemed to give off powerful magic power, causing vibrations in the air and making the ground shake.

Arshley and I snuck in undetected. The two of us hid behind shady trees, watching the scientists' movements carefully. They didn't seem to notice our arrival.

"They use very strong magic power. We have to plan the attack carefully," Arshley whispered as he looked at me.

I nodded, feeling the adrenaline start to flow. We strategize how to attack without drawing attention too early. Arshley gave the signal, and we lurched forward from our hiding place.

It's time for the fight to begin. Arshley swung her sword with great skill, cutting and dodging enemy attacks with agility. Meanwhile, I used the physical and magical powers I had to fight the scientists who tried to stop us.

"Where the hell is backup!" yell Arshley

The moonlight illuminates the increasingly heated battle. Arshley and I move with perfect synergy, complementing each other. His blade flashed through the air, cutting through each enemy attack with stunning precision.

I, on the other hand, used physical force to destroy the magic shield protecting the scientists.

Mad Scientist

There was a metallic clinking sound when Arshley's sword met the scientists' magic weapons. Sparks and magical explosions ignited in the air, creating a dramatic and colorful scene.

In the middle of the fight, I felt a strange energy, as if there was magic power gathering somewhere. The ground shook, and the night breeze carried a strange aroma that gave me goosebumps.

Unknown to us, a magic portal opened near us, releasing menacing black silhouettes.

"Maintain position!" Arshley shouted, while we both tried to deal with the arrival of this new threat.

"What are you looking for!?" I shouted

The scientist I was fighting answered, "The missing weapon!"

"Don't steal!"

"The weapons were ours from the start! When we are free from weapons it disappears from what we want, right!"

"What are you looking for!?" I shouted, trying to figure out the motive behind their attack.

The scientist I was fighting answered in a hateful tone, "Lost weapon!"

"Don't steal!" I snapped, continuing to try to penetrate the enemy's defenses.

"The weapons were ours from the start! When freedom was denied, they disappeared from what we wanted!" he exclaimed with emotion.

As I continued fighting, my thoughts drifted, trying to organize the pieces of information I had gleaned. Lost weapons, scattered magic power, and the role of the first king in the dark story of this kingdom began to merge in my mind.

"We can have a peaceful discussion," I suggested, even though the roar of battle filled the background of our conversation.

The scientist laughed sarcastically, "Peaceful discussions? After all the suffering we have experienced? You, the rulers, only know how to rob and torture the people!"

"This fight will not bring a solution," I said, trying to reduce the tension between us.

However, the battle continues, and the truth behind the conflict becomes increasingly difficult to uncover amidst the roar of clashing swords and magic.

Whoosh! The large spear pierced the portal and made the portal close again.

"Yo! Vampires, are here to help!" shouted one of the men in the back
