A MISTAKE?

AIDEN

The following morning, I woke up with a splitting headache.

"Ah"I groaned. I shouldn't have drank too much.

Alexis ran up to me "Are you okay? Does your head hurt much?"

I stared at her in shock"What are you doing here?"

"You don't remember?"

My mind was fuzzy and I remember bits of her crying from last night but nothing more.

"Forget me, shouldn't you be in school?" I asked

"How could I go to school when you haven't woken up yet"

Something was off. This wasn't the same Alexis who had blantly rejected me last night.

"Hey, did something happen last night? Did I make some sort of mistake?"

She avoided my gaze"What do you mean by mistake? Hurry up and shower, let's go to school"

"Okay" I stood up from my bed and went to the bathroom.

I really did make a mistake last night. I hit my head.

Why can't I remember what it was ?

"Everything was already awkward before now " I muttered.

I shook my head and showered. As I steeped out of the bathroom, I walked in on Alexis sitting on the bed with her mind far away.

Images of her crying last night crosses my head.

"You idiot"I muttered and cleared my throat making my presence known to her.

"Are you going to stay here while I dress ?" I asked .

Alexis smiled" I have every right to now. You are my mate afterall"

I blushed inwardly. She probably has no idea the effect of her words had on me"Hey, don't say things like that"

Her smile brighten"Why?"

"Just don't " I walked towards my bed and sat down close to her.

"W-Why are you so close?" She stuttered.

I smiled. It was my turn to do the teasing"I'm your mate afterall, you get to enjoy this"

She rushed out of the bed flustered"Are you insane?"

I laughed "You are cute"

"Hurry up and dress. We'll be late "

I nodded my head and threw on a black polo shirt on then Melissa crossed my mind .

"Hey, I'm riding Melissa to school, you coming?"

Her expression appeared mixed "Melissa? Who is that?"

"My friend"

"A girl friend?"she asked casually.

If I didn't know better, I'd think she was jealous right now "Yes, why?"

She looked down at her hands"I thought I was the only female friend you had?"she shook her head and looked up "Anyways, I'm not coming along. Have fun with your new 'friend' "

I laughed "Fine"

Alexis eyes widened in shock"That's all you have to tell me ?" She scoffed "Who exactly is this Melissa?"

"If you are so curious, then come along"

I took her hand as we went outside to where the red car was parked.

"Meet Melissa"

Alexis gasped and rushed to feel the car"Wow, she's beautiful. How did you get this?"

I cleared my throat. It wouldn't hurt to impress her " I bought it "

"Really?"

"Yes"

"Then you don't mind if I do this " Alexis said raising a golf club to hit the car but I shrieked and hurriedly stopped her.

One scratch on Melissa and I'm as good as dead to Bobby.

"You are insane. You had a golf club all along?" I asked

Alexis smiled as she shrugged"I was prepared to kill this your new 'friend' anyways"

I shook my head as I took the club from her and threw it away.

This crazy girl was my mate. She was mine forever.

The thought made me smile .

"Hop in, let's go "

We hopped in as I drove off to school.

When we got to school as we climbed down from the car, Alexis grabbed my hand.

The gesture surprised me as I quickly withdrew my hands.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked .

Alexis feigned hurt" I'm hurt. You don't want to hold hands?"

She was really behaving weird. Something definitely happened last night.

What was it ? Why couldn't I remember at all?

I couldn't pretend that it wasn't bothering me.

Because without knowing what happened last night, I don't know how to act around her.

But it was also like she didn't want to tell me what happened too.

Should I just come out and say it was a mistake? Would that be best?

I nodded my head .That was the best option.

"Hey, about last night.It was a mistake. Don't bother about it anymore, okay?"

I quickly headed inside unable to face her when she said "Was it really a mistake?"

I turned around to face her "Yes"

"So you don't really love me ?"

My eyes widened. I had told her I love her ???

The look on Aiden's face was so hilarious that I had to laugh.

"I was just joking. Why so serious? "

Aiden looked relieved"Too far a joke, Alexis "

"So you don't really want to hold hands? You might not get this opportunity again"

Aiden's smiled"That's why I'm passing it . Let's go "

As he turned around headed inside, I let out a huge sigh.

He looked exactly dumbfounded when I told him what he'd said last night.

"So he still doesn't remember" I muttered as I walked inside.

It wasn't fair. The confession still lingers on my mind but he doesn't remember.

The moon goddess was definitely at it again.

As I walked in, I strayed behind Aiden as I headed to my locker.

I sighed as I got out my notes for first period and as I closed my locker shut, I saw Jessica and her two packs of hyenas.

"Where's your bestfriend? Did he get tired of you already and leave? I don't blame him though" Jessica said as she and her two minions giggled over what was supposed to be her superior comeback.

I sighed"I don't have time for you. I'm in a very ugly mood right now and seeing you three is making me want to throw up so get lost. Aren't you tired of doing the same thing everyday?"

I walked away and headed to my class after saying that.

I had bigger problems to worry about right now.

Like why on earth did Aiden not take my hand this morning!!

When I got to class, I saw Aiden already seated.

I thought over what to say as I went to take my seat beside him .

I couldn't let things continue to be awkward between us.

Especially after last night and I'd decided to give us a try.

"Hey, Aiden-"

"Aiden, are you busy?" Katherina interrupted.

Katherina is an alpha who had a crush on Aiden.

I always thought that she was one bold lady being an alpha and making it known that you had a crush on a measly omega.

But now I didn't think she was bold or it was cute.

Now I was pissed because she's flirting with what's mine.

My mate.

"No,I'm not busy . Why?" Aiden said

I stood up and slammed my hand on the desk as I looked up at Katherina"He's busy. I was talking to him first"

Katherina scoffed"And who are you to butt in? Do you know who I am ?"

I smiled "Do you know who I am ?"

"Yes, just an omega. So what?"

"No"I looked at Aiden then back to Katherina"I'm his mate. So how dare you flirt with what's mine?"
