Planning on stealing from me?

The dinner went by as unceremoniously as it have always gone. Sly never spared me more than a look, a look that would have frozen me right on the spot had it not been for the fact I've gotten used to most of his expressions.

I stood to carry the plates I ate with me to the kitchen.

"And where are you taking those plates to?" He raises a brow.

"To the kitchen, of course. Where else do you think I am taking them to?"

"You know, you can stop pretending to be whom you're not. I know you're not as hardworking as you're trying to pretend to be, you don't have to lie about that."

Hearing his words made me angrier than I've ever been. Ever since I got married to him, I've tried to be the dutiful husband, I've tried not to talk back, one that's as respectful as a good housewife, but for some reason, I can't bear his words tonight.

"And who do you think I am?"

"A gold digger. One who didn't think twice about getting married to the richest billionaire in the entire world."

"I see." I give him a once over, "before you conclude on things Mr. knowing, try to browse a bit, it helps more than you think." With one last look at him, I head to the kitchen, dropped my plate in the sink, and left without much ado.

"Where are you going to?" He asked in that authoritative voice that I hate more than life itself.

Standing from the chair he's sitting on, he walks towards me.

"To my room, of course. Where else do you think I am going to?"

I am not allowed outside the gate, so I don't get where he thinks I'll be going by this time of the night.

It's not like am one for night parties and all those stuffs.

"Suit yourself."

"And I am doing so." I made to turn, but he stopped me from doing so.

Holding my hand in his, he expertly stopped my progress.

Looking shocked at his actions, I cover the expression up with that of anger.

"And he finally touched me." I gave his hand the stink eyes, frowning at him, I try to remove my hand from his, but he held on tightly.

" What's wrong with you, Lee?"

"And he knows my name," I said in a sarcastic voice, but my fast beating heart is far from being sarcastic.

Currently, that organ I call my heart is having a field day in my chest.

My words seem to frustrate him, "you're acting odd tonight. What's wrong with you?"

"And do you care?" Trying once more to remove my hand from his, I got it this time. " Stop acting as if you care about me, Sly. You don't."

Without sparing him a glance, I walk towards my room, Which unluckily for me happened to be on the last floor.

Going to my room must times seems like a punishment to me, and that's one of the reasons why I love taking naps in either the sun room or the garden.

*

Only when I reached my room did I break down.

Sliding down my door, I hold the same hand he held.

Sly touched me?

I still can't believe this. Sly has never willingly touched me.

Aside from a few incidents that made our hands graze each other's, he's never touched me.

*

Waking up from a peaceful sleep, I get ready for the day to meet Sly before he leaves for work.

He might not acknowledge me as anything more than a person who happens to live in the same house as him, but that doesn't mean I don't look forward to every morning before he leaves for work.

Having him talk to me before leaving is more than I could ever wish for.

Dressed in my best *I know he doesn't care about me, but I can't help wanting to please him every chance I get* I check myself in the mirror to make sure am presentable.

The blue colour of the polo I am putting on made my brown eyes shine more, it made it seem like I have sparkling eyes.

With my two coloured hair *I happen to have a mix of black and brown hair* slicked to the back with the same gel he makes use of, I look like someone going out for a date of some sort,

but the ugly truth is this, there's nothing like a date for me.

These are just clothes I wore to please a husband who doesn't seem to be please able.

With a final check in the mirror, I leave my room.

Walking through the halls to the stairs, I made sure not to make any noise with the new slippers the maids bought for me * why he'll give the maids money to buy something for me is truly beyond me.*

Should Sly still be sleeping, I want to avoid waking him up. I want him to have as much rest as he wants, in some ways he deserves it.

A person like him who likes working more than resting deserves to have as much rest as they can get.

Tiptoeing, I walk past his room, my eyes momentarily going to the door, but I tamper with that stupid want that seems to raise its ugly head.

"Why are you walking like that? Planning on stealing something from me?"

At the sound of his voice, I stop dead in my tracks.

With my heart beating faster than that of a marathon runner, I turn to face him.

"Good morning." I smile brightly, but he didn't acknowledge my greetings.

" Why are you walking like that? What are you planning on stealing?" He asked in an accusatory tone.

" Should that be true, how do you expect me to sell the things I stole from you? Not only am I not allowed out of the building, but am not allowed a cell phone."

And here's another chap loves.
