"Wait!" He stopped me from going further.

Rushing towards me, he held my hand in his and tugged me.

"What's it?" I turn to him with a frown as I tried to think of the reason he'll stop me.

Chancing a look at the gate, I turned to face him.

"I can take you back if it works for you." He offers, "you don't have to rely on the cab man. Furthermore, you can save up the money you're to make use of for transportation." He offers with a smile.

Should his entire face be visible, I'm sure I'll see his face wrinkling with unrestrained happiness.

As if I'll allow him to take me home.

Not only am I afraid of my identity getting exposed, but there's no way I'll willingly enter into the vehicle of someone I don't know.

A person whom I thought creepy.

I rather trek all the way home, than allow him to take me for a ride.

"Thanks for that, but I prefer to take a cab home. Moreover, my house is so far, you might not arrive back here on time," I smile at him.

" It's not a problem to my love. I can take you wherever you want to go without a complaint. "

" Thanks." I nervously smile as I look around searching for anyone who might be outside currently, should in case the boss decides to make use of his strength against me, by taking me against my will.

"You don't want me to take you home, do you?"

Oh, how did you know?

I thought it was a secret!

"Thanks for the offer, but I rather take a cab back. Not only has I booked it for a ride, but the man has been waiting for quite some time now.

If you don't mind at all, I need to take my leave." Bowing once more at him, I ran walked out of the gate, hastily waving to the guards at the gate.

Just like I expected, the cab man was already waiting for me when I came out. Running into the cab, I exhale in relief.

"Are you alright?" The cab man asked in concern.

"I'm more than alright." I smile at him, my gaze going to the gate to ensure the male didn't follow me outside.

"Should I go then, or are you waiting for someone?" He raised a brow.

"No, go ahead."

Sly has been acting somehow for the past two weeks now. He seems absentminded most of the time, and that wasn't too difficult to notice since he's the type of person who's observant of their surroundings.

"Is anything bothering you?" Sitting on the cushion opposite him, I softly asked for fear of spooking him.

"Do I look like a bothered person?" He snapped at me.

Of course, you do, you look like a bothered person!

I darkly glare at him.

"No, you don't." I nervously smile, "I was just asking because am worried about you. That's all."

Sly might not like me, but that doesn't stop me from caring about my husband as a good husband should.

"You're worried about me? Take that your worry, and shove wherever suits you, I want nothing of that sort."

" But…."

" If you have nothing important to say, just get out of here. Seeing your face makes me feel angry." He makes a shooing motion towards me, "you repulse me with your fake caring attitude. You can stop acting as if you care."

" I do care."

If I don't care, do you think I would have bothered asking you about your health? Do you think I can expertly evade the owner of the mansion for two weeks straight without being caught?

Of course, I care for you, Sly. I might not have loved you when we got married, but a year with you has made my heart recognize yours.

If you think I am faking my caring attitude, you can do whatever pleases you, I don't care!

All this I wanted to say, but couldn't do that.

No, there's no way I can talk back to my husband.

I need to be a docile husband, one who doesn't speak when the husband is talking. One who cares and adores the husband even if the so-called husband hates him.

To be a good husband isn't easy at all, but I must be that.

I shouldn't talk back at my husband, it's not good etiquette.

"I'm sorry," I stood from the cushion I sat on, "I'll be outside having a walk." I look down to avoid looking into his face of anger.

"And you care to inform me of that?" He asked in anger.

"I did so in case you should want my presence. I don't want you to be worried about me." I continued with my floor exploration. My eyes focused on the tiles instead of my husband.

"And you think I might want your presence?" He scoffed. "Far be it, I'll desire for your presence. You're nothing but a pretending bitch! A gold-digging whore."

I sniffed at the words he made use of. Keeping my face focused on the floor, I ball my hands into fists to prevent a tear from slipping from my eyes.

He doesn't deserve to see my tears.

"What are you still doing here? Go on with whatever you want to do. Having you here makes me wish to purge."

Without saying a word in reply, I walk toward the stairs.

Presently, I need to go to a safe place to peacefully ball my eyes out without anyone being aware of it, that's why I chose my room.

Going there will give me enough privacy to lick my wounds.

"I thought you were going out? Already changed your mind?" He mocked.

"It happens." Without turning toward him, I walk to my room.

Flopping on the bed, I allow the tears to freely stream down my face as I thought about how my life turned upside down.
