A call from the mother-in-law

I walked to my room, and Lee followed me. But at the last minute, I changed the route. Instead of going to my room like I earlier planned, I decided to go to the balcony.

I might be ready to talk things out with Lee. But I'm not ready to expose my identity to him, just yet.

I want to take things one at a time, so I won't be overwhelmed by everything.

Lee didn't say anything, he just dutifully followed me.

A chanced look back told me how hunched his shoulders were. We got to the balcony, and I stopped while Lee walked over to the railings. He leaned on it, and turned to face me, but with his face still looking at his shoes as if there is something important about those pair of shoes.

"What do you want to talk about?" He asked in a light voice.

In front of me is the Lee I fell for those years ago. He's the young boy whose smiles alone lit my sky.
