My Intergalactic Soulmate

[WARNING: Violence and gore] “Did I just kill her?” Alexis was lying on the ground with wounds and bruises all over her. And to add to that she appeared to be lifeless. But slowly a soft crackling sound was heard. Alexis’s body was glowing in azure color. It seemed as if she was on fire. “No, no, no… you can’t disappear. Please don’t disappear.” But rather than disappearing, Alexis was now levitating in the air. Her whole body was lit in the azure fire. Her emerald eyes were now glowing like green balls of fire. Her dark ginger hair was floating aggressively behind her. She looked fearsome and at the same time also looked captivating. The fire around her was starting to engulf her. And after a while, an energy blast left her body. The blast was so powerful that the wall and structures around her were turned to mist. [Volume 1 revolves around light romance while Volume 2 revolves around intergalactic war. If you are looking for a pure romance novel, this is NOT the book for you.] This art was commissioned from JEIJANDEE. Find her at https://www.deviantart.com/jeijandee

Ghost

"Well, what do you think?" Vorian kept on giving her that mischievous smile, his eyes twinkling with delight to see the perplexed look on Lexi's face. Alexis puckered her lips and shook her head. Vorian straightened his position while offering his hand and pointed his brows towards his hand. Alexis's face lit up with expectation; she slowly raised her hand and tried to place her small hand on his palm. But to her disappointment, her hand went right through his hand.

"So, you cannot touch anything in this room, including me." Her delightful face from before suddenly had a hint of disappointment. Vorian noticed the sudden change in her expression and his heart fluttered a little. He liked how she was sad to learn that she could not touch him. Though they started to talk to each other just a while ago, he could already feel a strong connection between them.

Lexi's eyes sparkled with an idea. She looked into Vorian's dreamy eyes and suggested, "Why don't we meet each other in real?"

"You mean like a proper date?" Vorian wanted to confirm so he leaned forward and asked in his slightly husky voice. Alexis instinctively raised her shoulders and leaned backwards as she felt his face was too close to her. She was too spellbound by his voice to even utter a word, so she just replied by nodding her head.

Vorian clicked his tongue and broke the news, "I'm afraid that it won't be possible. I'm already in Celine. I was just on a short visit to Earth."

Vorian was still leaning towards Alexis when Natalia suddenly flung open the door of Alexis's room. As Vorian was facing the door, he immediately noticed Natalia and greeted her, "Hey! Miss Gonzales" and gave her a warm smile while standing straight. Natalia's eyes were wide open and had a stunned look on her face; then she started to scream as if she just saw a ghost standing in front of her best friend. She immediately shut the door again not knowing what else to do.

Alexis and Vorian stared at the shut door for a second and then laughed hysterically.

"I think I scared the soul out of your friend. We'll talk again later, Alexis." Vorian pretended to touch Lexi's face and then vanished into thin air. This was the first time that Alexis heard Vorian say her name and a smile appeared on her face.

Alexis then stepped towards her door and opened it to find Natalia sticking her ears on the door as if she was listening or trying to listen to the conversation inside the room. "Nat? What do you think you are doing?" Alexis narrowed her eyes and placed her hands on her waist.

Natalia scoffed and defended herself, "What am I doing? Well, what were YOU doing?" She then entered the room and scanned everywhere with her suspicious eyes. "Where did you hide him? Is he inside the closet?" Natalia then went on to open the closet door.

"What are you talking about Nat?" Alexis pretended as if she did not know what Natalia was talking about and started to fidget her hands.

"Don't act so innocent. I caught you red hand when you were about to kiss Mr. Zadoc." Natalia gave a whimsical grin to her friend and teased her friend by pouting at her. And then she continued to shuffle through the closet.

"No, I was not. And why are you still going through my closet as if you are going to find him there?" Alexis hung her neck down and then dragged her feet to where Natalia was standing. She grabbed Natalia by her shoulders and shook her to put some sense in her, "Weren't you talking with my mom in the living room, which is right beside the main door? How would he come to my room without you guys seeing him first? Besides, he is currently in planet C-31." One could clearly see the disappointment in Alexis's face.

Natalia's mind could still not wrap around what she saw earlier and asked, "But I swear I just saw him. Or was I hallucinating?" She tousled her hair and asked, "I'm going mad, aren't I?"

Alexis laughed at her friend's silly reaction and finally revealed what happened, "You were not completely wrong. You saw a virtual version of him."

Natalia let out a sigh of relief, "Thank the light! I thought I was going crazy. Wait! What do you mean by virtual version? He seemed very real to me."

"Apparently the project feature of Soulmate app lets you project your life-like version in real time. So, he was here but also was not. You got what I'm saying right?" Alexis puckered her lips and glanced at Natalia to see her jaw wide open.

"That is awesome girl!" Then Natalia's brows knitted in a tune and said in a sad tone, "I wish Liam had one of those cell phones. It would be so much exciting."

"At least you guys don't live in a different planet." Alexis blurted out in a vacant tone and sat down on her bed with a thud.

Natalia also copied Alexis and sat down beside her, "Yeah… you won this one." She gave a comforting pat on Alexis's shoulder and both of them sighed.
