56. Extraordinary Family. *

..I never thought I'll end up hating to shop.

I guess, just never had the chance to get there considering my financial situation.

We made 2 stops already back to the Inn to put down bag after bag. Plus one long trip taking some workers to the wagons with 7 mattress of the highest quality.

Ours will be so big it could fit 5 easy. Plenty of room..hmm.hmm.

Also..one for Anna and well.

In the new house, she'll have her own room so she needs a bed.

I picked her up after the second turn so she could choose it and her decorations which just ended up plush toys and dolls, she also had plans for plants in her room. To make it more like a forest.

Dark forest princess indeed.

The women at the market thought we buying toys for the whole village.

I also bought a lot more clothes than last time. For myself, mother, granny for Eli and my daughter. It was a tremendous amount of wealth for someone like me. Remembering my trips from last year and just last month.

It felt like a different life..me and Zephyr wasn't officially together yet..he didn't even had a last name. Now we moving in our home talking about our future children while raising our 5 year old.

His ability allows me to be the envy of this world whenever I want it. I never thought we end up this happy..and we haven't even married yet.

So many things to look forward to.

Speaking of which. Granny told me about my daughter's birthday. It was within three weeks at the very end of September.

We wanted everything just right, so it was decided yesterday to step back to the City a few days before her birthday and in the meantime find out everything she wanted.

It will take us just a few hours tops with the shopping.

Also..whenever I wanted some jam buns or candied fruits or basically anything..I just tell my husband to get some..and he will back in a few minutes everything still fresh and hot.

Hehehe..and to think other wifes ask their own to get fire wood.

But, seriously..I was done with shopping.

I felt tired and hungry, sticky and sweaty..we went back to Jobil to eat. We found the boys there doing the same and with a sober looking Carlos.

They noticed us and Zephyr elbowed Carlos and pointed at me. He looked super embarrassed and rather emotional.

Before, I could say anything he was already bowing.

" Dear Lady! Please forgive my shameful a a appearance. " - he rose quickly and pushed his moustache down with a strange smile. " You see..it was my first victory over my Rival. It was a significant event. He can't hold his liquor, Ehlite bless him..and th-then.."

" Ok, ok..alright now. I think it's clear now. " - Zephyr stepped up nodded along and tapped his shoulders. "My love, meet Carlos Em. He is the first guardian of Lord Mai Sakarai. "

He bowed again with exaggerated hand gestures during his introduction. The patrons appreciated him their smiles watching this strange man told it all.

He came over and grabbed my hand.

" My lady, please don't let my useless title fool you. Carlos at service." - his smile was that of kind uncle very warm and respectful.

Zephyr just repressed his own laughter seeing everyone's shock over this eccentric blessed, whom, my love seems already consider a friend.

I shook his hand and introduced myself and our daughter.

He was a little shocked seeing their faces side by side. " Zephyr...this child..how old are you!??"

" Shushhh you, she been adopted by me, but my daughter all the same. " - he leaned closer acting in secrecy. " Also, between you and me..she could give a run for your money in a hand to hand. "

He looked amused but, with a hint of belief. He bowed deeply whipped one arm behind, one to the front then up extended his hand with his crooked smile.

He remained me of the dancers and acting troops we saw a few years ago.

He looked like someone caught..what sister !?

He played it off taking Anna back. " Ha ha ha..yes that was...yes. Alright, princess time to go ! "

I took a step forward and leaned in. " Carlos? please tell me more about your sister...maybe we can be very close friends.."

" Ohh, I doubt that Lady Astoria. My Ciren is only ten years old. "

" Ohh..r-right ten..then may.. maybe my Anna would love to meet..as you said. " - I choked on my words seeing that idiot shaking and turning away front the situation. " Please bring her by this afternoon, we plan to spend some time in the Heaven's garden with our family. "

" That sounds lovely, we'll be happy to attend...Ahh.." - he turned Zephyr around and pulled his head under his arm. "..Zeph you chosen your lady very well."

" Right? " - he didn't seem to mind the headlock and just gave me a lovely smile.

I was so happy I almost forgot his ploy to make me jealous of little girl.

We sat down and ordered enough food for an army. Carlos retold yesterday's battle in exquisite and over dramatic detail.

"...I challenged, I fought, I lost , we walked, he sneezed, we laughed, the end. " - he kept looking each of us in the eyes during each word and then finished his cup of marooned wine first. " What is important what happened next.."

He told how he was beaten in coin throw, eating competition, foot race, and a spirited competition which resulted in a draw..reciting poems? Which made us all look to Zephyr.

" It's obviously a stor.." - he began the story but, seeing everyone smiles he relented. " It was Ciren's choice of game. She read it for me as my proxy..I just had play with her later. "

We laughed and teased him a little.

Carlos rested his face on his hand listening with a nostalgic smile. " Ahh, memories... She enjoyed pretending to be a water bird Zeph. Thank you for indulging her request, she is quite taken with you."

He smiled kindly and poured some marooned into his glass. " Hey..I enjoyed those flights too. Besides..show them..."

He smiled mischievously and let Zephyr pour him some more.

" Zeph you know very well, it's not like my back yard. I'm not supposed to within city limits. Rules are rules. - he shook his head and looked into a certain corner of the Inn.

Zephyr frowned and searched out two guards having a drink at the distance watching us occasionally.

He went poof knocking his empty chair flat with

a bang and hit us all with some whirlwind he was..

Standing in front of the two guards, who looked they might wet themselves. He stepped within range and leaned down.

" Hellooo...do you mind if take this? " - he picked something off a grumpy looking older man.

" Uh..no hehe..no absolutely n-not! It's yours Lord. Please enjoy. " he laughed nervously and bowed with his hands pressed to pray.

His younger comrade looked confused but, quickly smiled and followed suit.

" Appreciate it. Enjoy your drink." - he flicked his glass then..

He slapped him with the wind left behind..spilling their drinks and he reappeared picking up his chair.

He handed Carlos a silver coin. It had a city emblem finely carved into it.

It was the city guard captains badge.

Carlos took it and laughed so loud it felt like the whole Inn shook.

" HAHAHA..!! "

He was joined by everyone so the Inn actually sook.

Even the two guards joined in just make sure they can walk away alive from here.

Zephyr took his glass and finished it looking confident and ...bloody hell he knows how I get seeing him like that. It was suddenly hot, and could barely breathe.

" What can they possibly do ? " - he waved his fingers at them, they raised their glasses and most likely resolved never come here, ever again.

" ...show them. "

Carlos did hesitate any more and slapped the table hopping up. " Yes..yes, let's as go outside. It's a short walk from here. The field near we played the coin toss.The more space the better. "

" Very well..Em?.. you lead the rest of my family there. We shall join you after one more thing. " - he talked to the man who just nodded gently.

He picked up Ilianna and grabbed me by the waist.

" Hold on..Princess take a deep breath through your mouth, watch me..like this."

I grabbed on to his waist and even Ilianna held me.

I smiled at his face showing her how to keep air in. Our first ever supernatural family trip.

" Go..we join you presently. Ladies..breath in now."

I felt the familiar pull and the the cool breeze and Ilianna excited screaming close to me. We were high above and..

We were back on the top of the castles high tower. We landed perfectly and we held each other extra tight. They wind picked all our hair apart and the majesty sight once again was all around me.

No one was more excited than the princess between us.

" Daad!! Is this the castle you took Mom too!? "

I was so shocked I almost let go of them.

She called me mom!!

I saw Zephyr expression mirrored mine but, Anna didn't even noticed it, just still twisting and turning so see every angle.

I kissed my love carefully not to disturb our daughter's fun and shared a happy smile.

I rested my head on his shoulder and watched her beaming like the sun above her. Everything coming together like a beautiful puzzle.

Up there, higher than any..
