Chapter 49

“Thank you so much, Ms. Aphelion,” I shook the doctors’ hands as their conversation finally ended. It was concerning my field of study – however, I’m pretty sure they were talking to Asher most of the time.

“Thank you so much for looking after Lux,” I thanked Asher as I took Lux from him. We basically had our shifts and now it’s my time to look after Lux.

Thankfully, Lux didn’t meet with that stranger he was talking about yesterday – we went into an amusement park and I was so close to him he complained about it the whole day.

Asher also had his fair share of nagging from Lux – but for his safety, it was all worth it.

When we got home, however, when Asher was teasing Lux – he adamantly said, “I met him though...”

I shook my head in disbelief, “There was no way he’d meet someone there – not with both me and Asher looking after him.”

“We’ll sit behind this time,” I said to Asher and he nodded his head as he approached yet another circle of doctors – gosh, how does he do that?
