Chapter 104

With tears falling from my face – I took off the tall heels I wore earlier as I ran into the hospital. Several of Jaughnn’s men ran with me as we entered the elevator.

I was impatient, I wanted to run up the stairs – however, the guards begged me otherwise.

I looked down as I moved my feet at an impatient rhythm – this may be the day our problems would be solved altogether. “Madame, please wear these,” one of the guards offered as he places slippers in front of me.

“Thank you,” I said as I handed my shoes to him – I slightly wiped the tears off of my face. I’m certain the make-up on my face is horribly smudged by now.

As the elevator went up and up – it felt like it was slower than usual.

“Why is this thing taking so long?” I asked no one in particular as my knuckles went white from grabbing the side handles of the elevator too tightly.
