Mrs. Beckham Is Here.

As we arrived at the hospital, a doctor got into the room examining my feet carefully. He came to a decision that my legs needed no further treatments but offered I got some pain killers and rested well.

Williams was inside with me. "Thank you, Mr. Wilson." He said to the doctor as he stepped out.

His face turned to meet mine. "Are you okay?" He asked calmly.

Was I okay? Of course not! Mason just gave me a piggyback ride! The look in his eyes...it was almost as if he still cared for me.

I couldn't help but feel butterflies running around in my stomach, but with my insecurities, the butterflies were suddenly attacked by dragons again.

It's been years now. There was no way Mason still kept any feelings for me.

"Miss Radley, is everything alright?" Williams asked.

I quickly tried to liven up a bit. "What? Yea, I don't think I'm okay. A woman just made an attempt to take her own life! I'm just glad everything went okay."

He nodded. "You're right. But don't worry, Mr. Mason will take care of everything."

I frowned. "I've been meaning to ask since, has this happened before? You mentioned that earlier."

Williams looked away, trying to avert my stern gaze. I had that habbit of staring into people's eyes as I ask question.

I coughed and turned to look in the opposite direction. "I'm sorry, it's just that...I wanted to know."

"Sometimes, women and men look for opportunities of taking money from the company. So they come up with silly plans like this to commit suicide."

"Silly plans? She was really fed up. She had no one else to turn to!" I said in defense.

He must have tackled issues like this before because he replied at an instance.

"If she was truly fed up of life, why dress up and resume to work on a Tuesday morning, and then try to commit suicide? And why here at BREC of all places?"

"Well because..." I froze. He had a point too. But I trust Mira. She wouldn't come up with such a dangerous plan just to beg for money from the company!

"We should just be grateful that it has died down. It seems Mason is handling the case well because the reporters seem to be saying a new story."

His phone buzzed, "oh excuse me." he stepped outside.

I frowned to myself. What was happening? And Mason took care of this issue just how? By telling everyone Mira was a liar and a fraud?

I shook my head. "No. She was...I mean? Why would she call Mrs. Beckham a witch?"

Everyone knew she was a fierce woman with a tough heart. She earned all of her assets singlehandedly without the help of any man.

She was fierce and strict, but those are only qualities of a powerful career woman. Calling her a witch was just too suspicious. Why?

Williams stepped in again. "I know I promised you a meeting with Mrs. Beckham yesterday, but guess what? She's on her way right now as we speak."

"Wait what? Now? I thought--"

"--Mason is handling matters at work and she urgently wishes to speak with you now." Williams said.

There was no space to argue as he spoke so bluntly and directly as possible. I had no other choice than to keep my mouth shut.

Ten minutes had not even passed when Mrs. Beckham walked into the room.

She was just as I'd seen online. A slender tall woman with brown hair and brown eyes that looked deadly. Her lips was red and full and a grin rested on her face.

"Hello darling, you're a hero now." She sat down on a chair that Williams had provided. He was still in the room and I couldn't be more happy.

Being alone with her was suddenly scary.

"H-hello ma'am?" I managed to say.

She returned my greetings with yet another smile. One that was starting to get me worried.

"It is an honor meeting you, Miss Radley."

"Ma'am, I'm no hero. Mira was simply lost and needed help."

"Lost? Ha!" She snickered. "Is that her name? Listen to me, women like her have existed and will continue to exist. To hell with them."

I frowned but she didn't seem to even acknowledge it.

"You will face the media and be the hero the world wants you to be. This is great news, Williams. A free source of advertisement!"

"I think you should apologize first ma'am, just like last time." Williams said.

The woman's eyes glinted with fire. "Are you crazy? Apologize? Again? No way!" She roared out.

I kept quiet still trying to let this woman land. Hero? Me?

"This is the perfect opportunity! We need her now. This can really bring a great deal of attention to this company, and change it all!"

"All of these silly women trying to bring me down, now's a chance to punish them all!"

"Ma'am, if I may, Mira really needs help with her child's hospital bill." I tried to say but she didn't seem to hear. "Uh, ma'am--"

"--leave us, Williams." The woman said, her expression suddenly turning cold again.

What have I said to offend her? Damn it, me and my stupid mouth...

Willians gave a slight bow and walked out.

I sat up straight, making my face as hard as it could get.

"Justin!" She called out and a man built very tall and huge walked in. There was a box in his hand. "Thank you."

Mrs. Beckham said and the man dropped the box before her then left the room.

Suddenly, the air around me was chilly. Fear crept through my whole body, jabbing at my throat.

"That's 10 million dollars. If you'd prefer I wired it to your account, that's also fine by me."

I heard her say, and I felt like she must have been speaking another language.

"W-what?"

"You heard me, my love. 10 million dollars all yours, and I'm glad you love your job already. Which means you wouldn't want to loose it, suddenly now, would you?"

Was she threatening me??

"What do I want from you? Ah, yes." She said, then leaned a little forward. "Listen to me, and listen good."
