A New Timeline

I woke up in my high school classroom. The classroom I used to have before the apocalypse happened. I felt like I was straight out of a sci-fi movie. Thinking about my next move, I hesitantly asked the person next to me what the date was.

My classmate laughed, and replied "Wow guys, the loner boy is asking for the date. Let me guess, you need attention from us?" A few seconds later, other people started to laugh as well. My checks flushed, as I suddenly remembered that I was an outcast before and I sprinted out of the classroom. I ran into the bathroom, and locked myself into a stall. Then I checked my pockets for anything useful. Feeling a rectangular shape, I pulled out my phone, and checked the date. It was October 3, 2023. I had one day until the apocalypse. Well, the next thing I need to do is find the ring. That's not going to be difficult at all, right?

Turns out, it was hard. Due to my terrible memory, I stumbled around the place where I found the ring for about 2 hours maybe? I only ended up finding it when I stumbled across it, just like last time. Except that I tripped over it and got dirt all over me. Slipping it on my finger, the familiar rectangular hologram popped up, the same old game screen. Looking at my stats, I realized that the ring didn't change. It still had the same stats as before I 'died.'

It seems that I had earned 5 points, which I could put into my stats. So far, there was strength, intelligence, speed, and stamina. Each point could be put into upgrading one of the stats. Although, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if there was a limit on how many points I could put onto one stat. After all, I didn't have the ring long enough to find out. I snapped myself out of my thought process, and quickly used two points into strength and intelligence. The rest I would use later. Next, I checked the shop and it was the same as before, and it appeared that I had 10 gold coins.

Shortly after I found the ring, I found out that the prices in the game shop are the same as the prices you would find on the street. It also sold anything you could find in shops. I had about $200 so I converted it into gold. Since I have the system, whenever I kill a zombie or monster, I earn things.

I didn't have any family or friends but I was ready for the worst.
