My Fake Mate

Adeline’s one goal in life was to work in the famous Bio Research Institute as a scientist, but that dream ended when she was scammed and lost all of her money to pay for her final semester. She was broke, directionless and desperate. It wasn't until she met the Alpha of the Carmine pack, did her luck begin to change. He made her an offer she couldn't refuse— pretend to be his mate and he would make all of her problems go away. Being a fake mate sounded easy, right? But not for Adeline. She had to face challenges by both him and his family. Was she able to stick to the contract? Or would their plan spiral out of control? — “Now would be a good time not to suppress that sensitive body of yours. Wrap your arms around me.” I shoot him a dirty look at his approach. “If you wanted me to touch you, all you had to do was ask.” “Please,” He bent down closer to my ear as he purred, “Touch me, darling.” My Fake Mate is created by Heather Bond, an eGlobal Creative Publishing author.

Chapter 12: There is Strength Here

Zale’s POV

(Flashback)

“Do you see now, boy?” I stare agape at the man in front of me.

I hear that the Nakamato pack in Japan is in possession of something that could change the very essence of what we know about mates, but I would have never guessed they could do something like this.

“How is that possible?” I ask as I reach for the stone, but the man in front of me only pulls it further from my reach and places it back onto the pedestal in the middle of the garden-like courtyard.

“Anything is possible if one's will is strong enough to demand it.” The elder looks at me with a strange look. It's the kind of look I should know the meaning of, but my focus and attention are still on the stone he placed down.

“Does it fade?” I ask him, and the man shakes his head.

“No,” he says immediately, “once the connection is made between two wolves, the connection does not fade. It may have been manipulated into existence, but it exists now and may never fade.”
