~ With Fury ~
'Motherf*cker. What's this about a True Demon God and a cult group?' Fury was not having a good time reading the diary. 'So, we don't know who this "god" is nor what abilities they could have. The only thing we may know for certain, is that it has arrived here from Luke's world.'
[The Abyssal Covenant. I may not know how the they came to be, but I have once met with the leader of this cult. He called himself 'Marak Azathraal'. Marak was not the same as the other messengers, for he had claimed himself to be the Chosen One of his 'God'.]
[Where he came from, how he got his powers, I can only guess. Even in my world, there was no historical records of any being named Marak Azathraal nor the 'God' he worships. The only thing I knew about them were the things that I've been told Marak.]
[For one, the reason for the existence of the Abyssal Covenant is what worries me. Marak revealed that their purpose was to release their 'God' from its eternal prison. Because for when it does, reality as we know it would face a calamity that not even a Celestial could stop.]
Seeing Luke write about a supposed 'God' capable of endangering reality itself, Wanda and Natasha thought that Luke was exaggerating. However, Fury knew of the existence of the Infinity Stones, specifically, the Reality Stone. With that knowledge, Fury could only grimace at Luke's written words.
[I'm not sure if what Marak said should be believed. Not much is known about the Celestials, except for ancient records stating that the Celestials were present during the creation of the Multiverse. This would put the supposed 'True Demon God' at a level higher than these Celestials.]
[Moreover, the actions of the covenant back on my world seemed random. As if there wasn't a goal that they worked towards besides causing chaos. This meant that either Marak did not know how to free his 'God', or he was lying about the true origin of the 'God'.]
[But fighting the messengers of the Covenant had made me realize that even if Marak was lying, the threat of the Abyssal Covenant was real. I had seen it. How these messengers came to be.]
[And while they may not be of any challenge for someone like Thor, their numbers could pose a challenge for SHIELD or any of the Avengers without special powers or abilities. But this is not the biggest issue that arose from their appearance in this world.]
[No, the biggest issue is how they got to this world. If Marak or his God had been able to come to this world, then who's to say that the others could not do the same. . .]
[It is my theory that I arrived here through a tear in space-time. When the Cosmic Beings gathered at the end of my world, their combined powers must've caused a reaction to the space-time continuum, allowing me to slip through my demise through the tear.]
[This raises the question of just how exactly a messenger appeared here on this world. It is possible that they are native to this world and the Abyssal Covenant exists here too. But this shouldn't be the case, as that messenger which had attacked me felt like it had done so with purpose, almost like a greeting.]
[So, it is highly likely that the covenant, Marak, or the even their 'God' had followed me here to this world. But if that's the case, how? Does the 'True Demon God' truly exist?]
Seeing the latest passage being written, Fury's senses began blaring to him. With his weapon drawn, Fury scanned his office, only to find it empty. Yet, the hairs on his arm and the back of his neck remained standing.
'It feels like I'm being watched, but there's nothing here.' As soon as he finished this thought, the feeling had disappeared just as sudden as it had appeared. 'What is going on?' Unknown to Fury, even Natasha and Wanda had felt that sudden feeling.
[No that shouldn't be. If the 'God' does exist, then he should still be imprisoned somewhere unknown, and I would like to keep it that way. That means that Marak had crossed here too and is somewhere in this world. I will have to keep an eye out for clues on his appearance.]
[As for the Abyssal Covenant? In my world, I had the help of the Avengers for when I could not handle the covenant myself. However, the Avengers have not been created yet in this world.]
[And the only ones who I would trust to help me with the covenant is SHIELD. But even then, there are only a few within SHIELD who are trustworthy. And I know Fury, he will definitely be suspicious of me and not believe my words on the covenant.]
Seeing this, Fury could only smirk at the irony. What Luke had said was true, if Fury could not read the diary entries, he would definitely be suspicious of Luke and label his tale of the 'Abyssal Covenant' as a fairytale and would not take him seriously.
However, Fury was a diary holder. If Luke came to Fury now, while Fury may maintain his visage of suspicion, Fury would most certainly treat the matter with utmost importance.
[Fortunately for me, when I crossed into this world, I seemed to awaken abilities. With my newfound powers, I should be able to hold off the creatures of the covenant. The only issue would be with Marak.]
[I don't know much about him or his abilities, as the only thing I know is that he uses the messengers to attack Jewellery stores. I'm not sure why he does it, maybe it has something to do with his powers or maybe he's looking for a specific gem piece.]
[But if he truly does appear, I alone may not be enough to hold him off. Wait, how about the Masters of the Mystic Arts? Doctor Strange had mentioned that his predecessor, the 'Ancient One', was very knowledgeable in anything mystical in nature.]
[No, that won't work. Strange had once said that as the Sorcerer Supreme, he and the Masters protect the world from Dimensional threats such as Dormammu. Unless the 'True Demon God' himself appears, it is highly unlikely that this Ancient One would interfere with the Abyssal Covenant, as at the moment they are just worldly creatures.]
[Shit. . . It's just as Marak had said as he disappeared from our first and only meeting. It seems that the covenant and myself are destined to be enemies.]
Fury closed the diary after not seeing any further passages being written after half an hour, indicating that the fourth entry had concluded. Immediately after, Fury had called Natasha again to relay his urgent orders.
"Agent Romanoff," Fury began as Natasha answered the call, "I need you to follow the path that Luke took and discover where this attack had taken place. Once found, cordon it and do a full canvas of the area and catalogue whatever you find. I want a report on it within the hour before we can proceed with anything else. I'll send a team to your location to assist you."
~ With Natasha, in her apartment in Los Angeles ~
"Roger that sir." At Natasha's acknowledgement, Fury hung up the call. "Sigh. . ." Looking at the time, Natasha could only lament at being called to an urgent mission at such a late hour when she had only wanted to take a rest. She had a long day, constantly worrying about Luke's wellbeing.
However, she also knew the importance of her new mission. She had read the new entry, and from what Luke wrote, not much is known about these creatures known as 'messengers'. They know that 'messengers' are infected people, however they don't know how they were infected as Luke did not reveal it.
Moreover, there was that sudden moment where she felt she was being watched. Something happened as Luke was mentioning about the existence of the 'True Demon God'.
Thus, Fury needed to act swiftly in order to prevent any accidents happening, such as a random passer-by walking past the location of the attack and getting infected. Fortunately for Natasha, the location was not too far from her apartment, as similar to Luke, Natasha, along with Pietro and Wanda, lived within walking distance of the café.
'What the hell happened here. . .' However, when Natasha arrived at the scene, she was surprised at what she saw.
- End of C40 -
Next time in C41 - Fury's Lists, Luke is a Threat?!
"Every living being in this world is filled with water. But that's not the only thing with water, the surrounding air is also filled with water molecules. Do you understand how much of a threat that would make someone if that person could control water like that, Agent Romanoff?" Fury questioned.
E/d: I created the vote and the winning vote was to change the enemy type and not make it a "Dimensional Threat." BUT, since I did not want to fully deviate from the source, I wanted to try and at least stick close to the explanations given in the MTL.
However, I had to re-do the entire backstory of this OC enemy because the MTL explanations just confused me even more. APPARENTLY, if I'm reading it right, "Yan Devil" (also known as Flame Demon) is a person who claims to be a 'messenger' of the Olivia Temple in MTL35. But then MTL44 is saying that Yan Devil (known as Flame Devil in that chapter) and the Olivia Temple are one the same and not separate entities?
Moreover, Yan Devil had robbed a jewelry store in New York, AND WAS KILLED BY SHIELD when they chased after him. I am VERY sure that something got lost in the translation, but then at the same time this could also be a lack of understanding in the Chinese language and how they speak/write. Like really, go read MTL44 and you'll understand my confusion at the backstory of this OC enemy.
So, for this series, the True Demon God, Marak Azathraal and the Abyssal Covenant will remain as mysterious and unknown as possible until I need to explain more due to MTL progression of this OC enemy!
