I HATE HIM

Day two, I took a pack of toothpaste from the store room cause the one in the bathroom was finished, I headed for the bathroom when I heard my neighbour’s child crying and she being the mother screaming on top of her voice, she was clearly frustrated by the crying of her baby, then suddenly a thought popped right into my head, become a nanny.

I’m sure must be wondering why a graduate like me would want to be a nanny, well I just had to do something or maybe I was jus being scared about the fact that I would remain hungry if I don’t get a job. I visited a lot of day care and all they kept saying “you have to give birth before you can work here”. Why would a mother want to work at a day care? I searched and searched until I came to a day care that was rather abandoned, it was painted in black and white colour, who would paint a day care white and black, I mean it’s for kids right not fighters. I walked right into the day care and when got to the head nanny, she asked me if I was a mother,

“The same question again, what do they need mothers for?”, I said to myself

“Are you a mother woman?” she shouted

“No ma “

“Are you married?” she said still shouting

“No ma” puzzled

Why would she want to know if I’m married, it was becoming suspicious

“No worries, we don’t care about protocols here, you would be paid at the ending of the day, you can get to work” she said pretty calmly

She never asked for my experience or stuff like that, well I got a job and that is all that matter

I stepped right in into the children’s room and saw only four children of age four to five, so I thought they wouldn’t be much of a problem, I went to the corner of the room and just slept off when I woke up, I saw just two children, I searched the whole day care but couldn’t the other two children, I then asked the head nanny and she was like,

“You couldn’t handle just four kids, go look for them yourself”

I shivered in fear because I knew I was in a lot of trouble, I never stepped my foot into that day care again

Day three, the bed was undyingly too soft to get up from, I kept squirming on the bed , my room was so scattered from last night’s sorrow that I got up and packed all the clothes that were left all over the room and just dump everything on the bed, the kitchen wasn’t smiling either because I haven’t cleaned up for days now, I just walked up to the fridge, took a bottle of water out and gulped it into my system, it was rather too early to eat so I just left the kitchen idle. I went back to the room, packed the clothes on the bed and just slept off again.

I’m sure you must be wondering how I still have some where to leave without the issue of the house owner well I don’t pay rent, rather I collect rent ,while the who woman that had the house was still alive, she had no child and she considered me to be hers, the fair old woman that love football, she would tell me about clubs that are playing and would always place a bet on another, before she died, she transferred the house to me, I would say she was my best friend because only a friend can do that for another friend.

I wasted day three doing nothing, I woke up mid-day and decided all the vacant spot would have been taking for that day, so I just decided to stay at home and rest, the kitchen door got jammed like it always does and for some reason I always had to wait twenty-four hours before it came back to its senses, so that night I had to go outside to get food from the closest restaurant. I walked into a restaurant that was known to be for the rich, I clearly passed my boundaries when I ordered for a meal at Lil Jang, I sat at a table beside the door and ordered the cheapest food on the menu, the place was so beautiful and pleasing, everybody in the restaurant had a partner but I never cared, I came just to eat nothing else, at about that time when I was ready to dig in into my food that came with a free glass of champagne, a waiter came to me and said;

“ma please you will have to leave the restaurant”

“and why is that so?” I said puzzled

“because the whole restaurant has been boked by someone for two hours”, he said with a smile on his face

I wondered why the waiter kept on smiling at me, I mean, I only came to the restaurant to enjoy the food that was served and now he was coming to tell me that the restaurant has been booked, never!

“I won’t leave this restaurant until I finish my food”, I said to him in a rude way

“but Madam the restaurant has been booked”, he lamented

“if I may ask, by who, who booked the entire restaurant?” I shouted

“by me”, from a rather unknown voice outside the conversation

A deep dark voice from the background of my conversation with the waiter sounded, I stopped to take a look at the person that talked. A tall and handsome man with deep dark eyes, his hair was rough and his lips were as red as an apple, it was the second time I was seeing him but it was going to be the first time we had a real conversation, I still looked at him in puzzlement, wondering how handsome he was. It was my ex boss though handsome but rude, he knew he was going to act rudely so I got prepared for him.

“and who are you?”, I said

“oh, its you, the girl I fired some days ago, how could you afford this place? And if you want to know who I’m, you can check on the internet”, he said boastfully

“well I don’t care who you are or if you fired me, all I know is that I came here to eat and I won’t leave here without doing that”, I said that with a lot of courage that I summoned from nowhere

A part of me was ready to fight and another part of me was just willing to give in to his demands and just leave the restaurant, but I was a stubborn girl, I meant to say, I can’t just come to this expensive restaurant and just leave without eating and I had already paid the bills, so I just had to fight.

“well madam, I love eating alone so I guess you have to leave”, he said

“I’m not leaving this place until I eat my food at the table I paid for”, I blurted out

“it is either we do this the easy way or we just decide and do it the hard way”, he suggested

“which is?” I asked

“it is either you leave or I call the cops on you”, he said

“wait come to think of it, how did you afford such an expensive restaurant?” he sked laughing

Those words continued to echo in my ears as I walked down a lonely street. I kept on thinking about those words till I feel asleep that day, even though I was sad about those words, I still parked my food in a plate and ate it when I arrived home, Park Sung Min is never too sad to eat.
