Rhyland's eyes widened in surprise at Aubrey's response. He was ready to be shut down and had even prepared a whole spiel to convince her of his plan. So he had been taken aback at her instant assent.
In his mind, this just proves how much Aubrey loves that doofus Ricky. Rhyland's chest tightened at this fact.
Wait a minute, why does his heart hurt at this thought. It's not as if he lo– Rhyland shook his head refusing to continue this thought. Is this some sort of heart condition? No. He was a healthy werewolf. 'It must be the guilt of fooling a good friend.' Rhyland eventually decided.

Aubrey thought, chewing her lower lip. She couldn't have that. She obviously wasn't strong enough to protect herself so she needs to rely on him for now. 'I should end the conversation here.'
