Yuri continued firing arrows infused with ice and lightning at who he recognized as his opponent. Arina on the other hand, glided through the air, avoiding them in the process before dishing out her Ray Blast.
"Dark Cloak." The Demon used his Spell and became impalpable before shifting his density back and firing another one of his deadly arrows. This time, he fired a lightning and an ice arrow at the same time.
Jumping off her platform and rolling on the ground, she avoided them but was surprised when they had turned around and aimed directly at her. "See through." Her body became transparent as she used her intangibility spell.
'It's times like this I'm thankful I practised with this Spell a lot.'
Yuri dodged his arrows before beginning to rapid fire, seemingly sending out multiple at the same time. However, using her latent physical skills, she cartwheeled and flipped over them as Yuri's aim became sloppy in exchange for speedy firing.
The sound of the arrow whizzing had halted abruptly as Arina held onto one in her palm which she had caught with just her hands, avoiding the tip which was the only part of it infused with monstrous lightning magic. "Ha!!" She had been caught up in the fighting, almost forgetting that he was a friend. Right now, he was acting completely ferocious and ruthless and she had let anger take control of her for a second, treating him like someone who wanted to take her life as she sent the arrow at full speed flying in his direction.
Yuri put the bow away and using his two hands, he clapped and held the arrow between them but could feel that its momentum wasn't going. It was turning and drilling like it had determination even though it was just an object, a very powerful one but still an object. Even then, it's previous gold spark had changed and a white energy had radiated from it, creating a pulse and a force powerful enough to break free of Yuri's hold and hit him straight in the chest.
"Ah!" He was sent flying and spilled blood from his mouth. He hit his back against a rock which had broken right through it, leaving him on the floor. But Arina wasn't done, her arms were dimly glowing with Pure Magic as she tapped into the hidden magic within her, straining her body even more. Her aim was obviously to punch him but Yuri had been able to regain himself and stood up, blocking her punch with his forearms. She tried pushing forward but he pushed back harder, putting some distance between them before the Light Caster immediately closed, lunging forward with another punch with her Halo Fist Spell active.
However, he had anticipated this and locked himself within his void, disappearing from her sights.
'Nice try, Yuri. I know this Spell. You have to come out exactly where you were and you can't see anything from there. So all I gotta do-' She took a jump backwards and began to clone herself until there were four of her and they circled the spot Yuri was last seen. Her eyes after all the training and hardship she had been through were able to detect changes in her environment almost once they occured and now was no different. When Yuri came out from the Void of Darkness, there waa a slight distortion in the air and it was happening right above where he had vanished.
"Prepare." Without even waiting to see him completely, Arina and her clones fired at him all using the Ray Blast and although the clones were significantly weaker, at least he would be cornered. What Arina didn't know was that none of the attacks would get to the Demon as he had formed a Pure Magic Barrier around him and it was blocking all the attacks thrown at him. "Damnit!"
The clones disappeared as a sceptre formed in her hand and it had a whitish aura encompassing it because she was boosting it with the Strengthen Spell. The blast was released and immediately it made contact, it cracked through it.
A pulse was sent out that destroyed many of the things that were in the vicinity. Birds and Drachs were sent flying, underground structures that they weren't even aware of had been thrown into the sky as a monumental force had hit a monumental defense. It was clear this island could not handle their fighting. A storm had formed after all the disturbance they had caused and soon after seeing red mist, a black hawk could be seen in the air.
Arina was completely dumbfounded by this occurence. As a Demon, Yuri could unlock up to five different abilities. The first four had been Speed Heal, Aura Slash, Demon-crafted Sword and Demon Spear. His fifth one was known as Hawk Form that allowed him to do just that, to morph into a hawk.
Mid air, the hawk transformed into Yuri who pulled out numerous arrows from his quiver and shot five, before shooting another five. Arina sprouted her wings and soared high in the air, avoiding them but like earlier, they turned again in her direction.
*Smash
*Smash
*Smash
Arina utterly shattered each one of the arrows into pieces like glass as each one of them came to her until she had decimated every single one of them. She wouldn't have been able to do so without the use of her Halo Fists and her Pure Magic. She continuously pushed her body to match up to Yuri who had a high ranked weapon and ruthlessness to back him up.
She gritted her teeth as she avoided another set of arrows instead of punching them. She knew it, she knew she was pushing herself to the breaking point when she hadn't even fully recovered from her first use of it and if she continued using it carelessly, her body would give in and succumb to weakness.
She retaliated, forming the Sun Field around both of them and began to release light beams from random directions all after the Half-Demon.
Forming his Barrier around him, he was left untouched. Arina took in a big breath of air even though lightning could be seen striking all over the place and the light beams were still coming from every direction. It was unbelievable how one would be able to calm themself or be calm in a place that was the personification of disarray. She manifested the Sceptre in her hand yet again but this time it was just regular. No strengthen Spell atop, no Pure Magic, nothing.
She moved her wings, moving away from where she was. She then switched the sceptre into a different position than she would normally hold it. Instead of just sticking it out horizontally, she held it almost as if she was playing a game of pool and and she was holding the stick.
Yuri could not see what was doing because the light beams he were blocking were also blinding his view of her so he had no idea what she was doing.
She hovered forward and jerked the sceptre forward and like usual, a white beam of pure light was released from it. The light beams ended but the Demon still had his barrier up and when the light beam from the sceptre made contact with his barrier, it was held up for half a second before ultimately smashing it into white particles as it travelled into his chest, blasting him away.
Inexplicably, as if he was having a stroke of bad luck, the area he had been hit towards had been experiencing the most violent weather. It was the eye of the storm and in the eye, three lightning bolts had clashed against each other and they struck none other than him.
"AHHHHH!!!!" He screamed at the very top of his lungs in the most pain a person could feel and the Light Caster felt sorry for him. The lightning hadn't seized and he was still being hit but with a demonic amount of strength, willpower and perseverance he had been able to channel, he slowly raised up his left arm but what was he trying to accomplish.
"What is he doing?" She flew closer but kept a safe difference between her and the eye of the storm they had caused, trying to see the stunt he was trying to pull. Right in front of her, his hand began to morph and his hand alone, forming a kind of shield with a dirty grey color like it was part of an animal.
Most Demons were capable of simple transformation and Yuri was no exception. He was able to transform all or even selective parts of his body, however, the latter was not something he could consciously do. His strategy was working slowly as the lightning was starting to have little effect on him until it was completely gone.
Yuri's shield hand blocked a Ray Blast from Arina and he partially transformed again, forming wings of his own on his back and he charged down at her who he was slightly above when it came to high up in the air they were. She couldn't even prepare for him as he grabbed a hold of her arms and sent them descending, crashing them into the ocean. She took a deep breath as they were immersed into the colossal water body.
Breaking free from her using the Pure Magic, she threw a slowed down punch that was accelerated by her strengthen Spell but Yuri moved to the left and held her forearm to which the force from the punch had been released, killing a bird that had been confident enough to step into their battle ring which had become a good chunk of the island and still increasing.
He formed the Demon Spear which was much longer and sharper than his Caster Spell, 'Black Spear' which he threw instead of holding in his hand like he did the Demon Ability. Arina on the other hand formed her Pure Magic Barrier, blocking the attack and then became invisible, appearing behind Yuri and throwing a punch right at his face. It was then that she noticed he had something on his neck. They were gills which he had formed that allowed him to breathe easier.
Yuri retaliated for the punch and shot out his Black Gloves to which she used her Ray Blast to counter.
"Ah." She quickly closed her mouth after accidentally opening it, letting water enter. She didn't have gills like he did right now nor did she have any Seraph Spell that allowed her to breathe underwater. 'I have to use it. I have to do this quick.'
Arina's arms glowed as she fully used her Incomplete Angel Form, even though she had not recovered yet and her body hated her for it. Nevertheless, she sent out wave after wave of Pure Magic at him and he couldn't counter, they were too fast and too powerful. He tried dodging but the Light Caster simply improved her aim, desperation growing as she could feel her lungs begging for air.
Yuri frantically tried avoiding them but getting hit by them was a fate he could not escape. He saw one right before his eyes and raised his forearms to block but it was too late, he was assaulted by two right in the head and was blasted straight out of the water. Arina's wings went on overdrive, wasting no time bursting out of the water and grabbing the Demon's arm and flinging him towards the island as if he were a toy. He crashed on the ground and before he could get up, the Half-Seraph grabbed a hold of a large statue and with the energy boosting her, she smashed it right on his body safe for his head, causing him to exclaim. She flung the statue away and her eyes pierced through him as if she were a goddess.
She formed the Sceptre yet again and this time, through a way even she didn't understand, she had made it invisible in her hand. She stared at Yuri and he stared back, almost regaining himself as he looked at her pupils. She looked like a deity about to make a grand decision and he could do nothing but await his punishment.
However, that's when the imminent had chosen to begin.
"Ah!!!" Arina's body sizzled with fresh pain as her body collapsed to the ground in a single thrust downwards. Every cell in her body was screaming as tears formed in her eyes. It was too much, too much pain. She had exerted herself to get out of the situation she was in and now she was paying the price.
"Arina!!!" Staria who had been moving Ririka to her location by supporting her with her shoulder dropped the leader as she rushed towards her friend, although she was terrified.
Surprisingly and fortunate for her, Yuri had healed some of his wounds and gained enough strength to shift to his hawk form and escape. At the same time, the storm they had formed had calmed down now that the atmosphere wasn't being attacked by them. The sky was almost completely clear now.
"You alright?" She wanted to hold her shoulders but Arina nodded her head while biting her lip, expressing to her to refrain from doing so. As she was, she could barely stand and that's when Staria frantically searched around her until she found a vile in her Compartment Bag.
"Take this. It's not as effective as it should be because your body is still suffering from that weird magic power you used but it should relieve most of your pain." Staria was right. After taking it, Arina could only feel her back and head in pain as if they had been stabbed by a thousand needles.
"Thank you, Staria. Really."
"Don't thank me. Do you really think I could have filled in for you if Yuri stayed around?" She laughed but her words held a lot of truth. "Anyway, why's he like that? He bumped his head too hard or something."
"I don't-"
Her words were interrupted when a bright light hit the sky like a firework. They looked up and could see the words, 'S.O.S' formed in it.
Takino who had gone back to normal and Ririka from where they were had been had seen it and screamed, "Alex!!!!"
