CHAPTER 4

"wtf are you doing?" Sam said pushing Matt off her and balancing herself well

"what are you talking about woman! I saved you from falling remember?" he said demonstrating with his hand how she fell and he caught her and did nothing else

"yeah right! I saw you looking at my lips a couple of times sir, what was that for?" she asked shaking as if she saw something irritating

"it's creepy when I think of it" she added

"don't fool yourself Miss Carpenter!! you are not my type and never going to be my type" he laughed then added "what do you even take me for? a boss that sexually harassed his employees? take a chill pill Carpenter! jeez!" he said walking over to his seat and told her to seat down.

At the lobby, Mira got to Sam's work place a while ago and was in her office waiting for her when she heard noises coming from another office and recognized it was Mathew Coleman so she decided to go out and find out what was happening just then she saw Sam following Matt into his office and he locked the door behind them

"oh Sam, what did you do again?" she said out loud waiting patiently for her to come out and console her friend because she was sure she had lost her job.

"so, are you taking the position or what?" he asked taking a sip of his water "I ain't got all day Carpenter!" he added looking straight at her hoping with everything in this world for her not to say no

"no, no am not interested" she said then stood up "thank you for your time and effort" she said

"suit yourself, and drop everything that is of ours when leaving" he said feeling really disgusted in himself but didn't know why, he just sent her away and told her to tell his secretary not to allow anyone in that he wasn't feeling well then she left. Mathew watched her go out of his office feeling really really bad. it was as if he had a bunch of money, well rare money because she doesn't feel like other girls, fuck it! she doesn't even look like other girls everything about her amazes him in every way and he wasn't ready to let her go but his ego always gets in the way of everything.

As soon as Sam left his office she definitely felt like crying but she had to smile because that's what she does best these days but just then she saw her friend waiting for her at her office entrance with her arms wide opened and making all this baby cute faces and she smiled for real this time around while other people in the office looks at her like she shat in her pants and the smiled wiped off her face immediately Mira saw her face she came to her rescue

"what ya'll looking at? mind your frickin business people!" she said raising two fingers to her eyes and pointing it to a random lady who continued to stare at Sam "amma fuck you up if you continue, bitch!" she said mouthing every word she said then took Sam's hand and walked her to the office

"dude, you off work? what happened? talk to me" she said rubbing her back just then Sam bursts into tears and continued to cry

"cry it all out, cry it all" she said as she continued to rub her back. Few moments later, she stopped and wiped her face with the tissue Mira passed to her

"I tried my best babes I really did. I I I did nothing wrong, I was just trying to prove myself and become a better version for myself because this man is grumpy as fuck girl! he is! and he is never pleased with anything anyone does and am so done with this work and this man" she concluded then stood up and started packing everything on her table into the empty cartons and sniffing at the same time while her makeup was ruined at the same time

"girl calm down! easy! tell me what he said in particular" she said holding her hand to make her pause with what she was doing

"he said I should become his secretary and I told him No because it would be the worst mistake I would ever make in my whole life"

"you said what?! are you dumb???" then she saw her friends face then corrected herself "um, I mean, you too think about it imagine how much you would make if you are his secretary, his own personal secretary, we could even get to see each other and be together, why didn't you think of it in that way, I love you but you didn't make the right decision and deep down you knew it"

"I know what am doing Mira so if you want to support me or not it's up to you, I know you like your boss more than me so go ahead and help your crush so go ahead am not going to stop you at all" she said angrily and rushing to pack her things up and leave the place and forget about it

"and what will you do when you go off this job"

"find another work!"

"which other work is going to pay you as much as this does"

"I don't care"

"but you should Sam! you frickin should"

"but I don't, am leaving" she said moving up and down the office packing everything well

"why don't you take a day and think about it" she said following her yo and down too until she saw something familiar "wait, did you bring my house plant to your office? girl I have been going crazy looking for this" she said going over to the plant then turned and looked at her friend in the eye waiting for a response then they both burst out laughing

"I wanted to make my office like home, you can't blame me" she continued laughing

"sure I can't, and my mug! girl! you took everything" she said breaking into laughter and so did Sam. They packed and made jokes like they always do and went straight home.

Days went by Sam went looking for job interviews but didn't get into any, it's either it's full or she didn't match the qualifications of the jobs and Mira told her she wouldn't get any work as better as the one she just got out off but she didn't give up, she continued to look for jobs to prove her friend and ex boss wrong. After a long day of walking almost all of New York and back she got home and rested and made herself food and as usual Mira wasn't around she had gone on a three days trip with Matthew Coleman, she hated him for taking everything away from her even her best friend who was crazily in love with his stupid ass his pictures and posters everywhere in her room annoys the fuck out of her but she loves her best friend and respects her wishes and not say anything about him to her just then the door bell rang, she wasn't expecting anyone but she went anyway to open the door it could be Mira who came home early again. She walked straight to the door and opened it and she was shocked when she saw Mathew Coleman on her doorstep looking straight at her and she looked down to herself and saw how big of a mess she was but didn't care again she had a very strong urge to slam the door on his face but she decided to smile and act normal

"how may I help you sir?" she asked in a very chilled way

"ouch! that was cold, I was expecting something much more worse, trust me" he said smiling "anyways" he excused himself and entered the house and sat down then Sam was confused and incredibly angry but she said "ofcourse you can enter"

"um okay, so I love the place quite well, how have you been? I h EA ard you have been looking for work but couldn't find any but why did you quit?" he said totally ignored what she said and whatever she felt he could clearly see that she was very mad but he didn't stop talking

"what brings you here sir?" she asked giving him a dose of his own medicine

he chuckled "that's why I like you Carpenter, always straight to the point, I want to make a deal with you, and I promise you, you won't regret or try to refuse it so what do you say?" he couldn't take his eyes of her thighs the smell of home cooked food was everywhere and the stain at the top part of her shirt it drew his attention to her boobs and the way her hair was neatly packed he genuinely liked it and her body scent was driving him crazy it was like a wild flower but then she sat down and their eyes met and she quickly looked away

"no, I am not interested"

"what exactly is your problem huh? what did I do to deserve such coldness from you?" he asked standing up

"I don't think you are a good example I could follow" she said looking up at this nicely built grumpy man, his scent was all over the room in the few minutes he has spent now she knows what Mira always talks about that his smell can never be mistaken for anyone else and she get why she is so much in love with him, he is handsome, hot and rich, every girl's dream.
