Chapter Sixty-Eight

Sarah POV

Am so surprised when I saw Max approached me,this is the first time he tried to engage me one on one in a conversation. At first I thought he want to hit on me,yeah I heard the rumors about him the guy is a chronic womanizer though my boss was once like him but this past few weeks he stopped his attitude of changing women like an underwear.

Before I thought that because the both of them are womanizers that's why they are best of friends but as time goes by I learnt the reason why my boss was behaving the way he used to behave but Max have no reason to be a womanizer that means he decided on his own that is the way he want to live his life. That means my boss had a reason but Max had none.

And it seemed like I am his next target but Bro you got the wrong girl. We exchanged pleasantries with him asking me how am enjoying the party to which I gave him a positive answer. The next question he asked me shocked me,I can't believe this he is not here for me but for my best friend Ella. Seriously dude of all people to have interest in it is Ella. Now am curious cause I want to know what exactly he want to know about Ella or why he is asking after her.

Then he requested what got my jaws on the floor,He want to meet Ella and what amazed me is that he have this sincere look in his eyes like he meant well for my friend, there is a possibility that I might have misinterpreted his look cause am not good in reading people,Ella does a better job in that area than me.

Well it will suit the both of them cause they seemed to have a lot in common, Ella is the type that don't take relationship seriously unlike me,Max on the other hand is a player. Ella have accumulated a lot of experiences in dating world so is Max,so they fit perfectly well and they are both adult which is the reason why I have to consult Ella first before I will work for them to meet.

I told Max that I will have to ask My friend opinion first on this before I will make arrangement for them to meet and her answer will determined whether they will meet or not,Max was okay with what I suggested. Max left shortly after that,I brought out my phone to text Ella to meet me at my place when this party will be over but before I could start typing I felt a presence before me. I looked up to see who the intruder is and it turned out to be my boss but what shocked me is his facial expression. He is so angry and it seemed his anger is directed towards me I groaned inside me Oh God I thought we are passed this stage.

George POV

I was so angry right now am sure that am already shaking,How dare he? How dare Max? Is he purposely getting on my nerves despite all my warning he still have the gut to approach Sarah. That guy should thank his stars that he is my best friend and he is like a brother to me if not by now I would have used his blood to mopped the floor.

I tried to calm myself down but it's not working because anytime I looked up I will see Sarah and Max seated closely to each other. Before I will not be alarmed if they are sitting together but since I already know Max interest towards Sarah am so agitated. I felt like Sarah is already slipping through my fingers,I clenched and unclenched my fist while I watched them talking and they seemed to be in a deep conversation, What exactly could they be discussing that so important? I wondered within myself.

Immediately Max left Sarah side I released a breathe of relief, The next thing I know am already in front of Sarah as if am being pulled by a force towards her and the worst part is that am still angry cause I noticed by the way she stiffened when she looked at my face.

Can we talk? I asked her,yeah sure she answered immediately clearly showing that she is nervous. I don't mean to shake her up like this,we walked to a corner where the music is not loud so that we can hear each other. Listen Sarah I don't mean to frightened you this way am not angry at you okay,I tried to calmed her down.

Okay she responded meekly, I don't want this version of Sarah I want the Sarah that is comfortable around me and desperate to set things right. Sarah why I approached you is because I saw you with Max,I don't know what is going on between the two of you although Max is my best friend but I must warn you about him,he is bad news to a girl like you and also you came out of a rough relationship and you don't need to go into another one again. Am not saying that Max and Evans are the same they are not the same in any way but he is still a bad news.

I know I shouldn't say all this behind my best friend who is like a brother to me but I want Sarah to be aware of the kind of person Max is so if she decide to date him she will not regret it cause that's the decision she took on her own. When I finished my explanation Sarah just smiled widely I wondered why she smiled cause none of what I just told her is funny or pleasant to hear. Her next word shocked me.

Am happy that you are looking out for me this is the first time someone who is not related to me  looked out for me so thank you so much it means so much to me and regards to Max what we discussed got nothing to do with what you are worried about and Max and I can never happen she said.
