Chapter Four Hundred and Thirty-five

Victor POV

My father called asking me to come and see him, I ignored his invitation already knowing why he want to see me. I know he is going to give me lectures about being careful and all that, am not in the mood for that, my newly opened company is starting to pick up and am not ready to leave all that to come and listen to what my father has to say to me. I was in for a shock when I decided to visit him today, since am not doing much today, my father wants to leave the country in four months with me without any explanation. He knows that I have my whole life set up here and I can't leave all that to follow him, cause he knows that he will commit a crime in four months and he will be on the wanted list of the police. That gives me a clue when we should be expecting them to strike, I know that George Will be very glad to hear this piece of good news.

For the first time in my adult life, I made it known to my father that I am an adult and can't be bossed around by him but he is not having any of it. Victor stop arguing with me on this, trust me, I know what is good for you, my father tried to convince me. Dad stop already, are you not tired yet? Pick yourself up and make something meaningful with your life, I told him showing him how tired I am by all that is going on. What are you insinuating Victor? He asked me. Just stop okay, I know the reason why you want to leave the country, you are about to a crime although I don't know what the crime is, I will like you to stop, I told him. No, you don't know what you are talking about, I can't stop now, especially now I can perceive my victory, My father said smiling widely.

And remember that I am doing all this for you, it's for your future and that of my grandchildren, My father tried to explain his reason for his actions. Stop it Dad I have heard the particular phrase all my life and well now you should stop worrying cause I have my own company and things are picking up, I told him. That is still not enough Victor, I want more and also you should be careful from now on, stop seeing George cause I don't want harm to come your way, My father warned me. Nothing will happen to me and the fact that you are my father is enough evidence that nothing will happen to me cause I know that you will always protect me, I said to him.

As flattering as that may sound, I still want you to be careful cause someone dangerous might be on your case, he continued with his warning. You mean the people you are hanging around with lately, I will advise that you are careful cause you might end up, attracting problems to yourself and am not leaving the country with you, you are free to leave if you want, I said to him and stood up and left the sitting room heading to my car to leave the mansion. I did not want to mention the name of the person he is hanging out with, cause that will tell him that we are on to him.
