"or does your heart belong to another?" she asked from behind him making him halt in his steps.
Of course his heart belonged to another, he thought.
He ignored her and continued walking towards the staircase when Amy hugged him from behind stopping him from moving any further.
She was already crying. He was moved by her tears as he hated seeing her that way but he couldn't console her as she would get the wrong impression. He needed her to stay away so she won't get hurt any further but she seemed not to relent in her effort.
He pushed her hands away from his waist gently and continued walking towards the stairs
"Kol, answer me" she cried out breaking down in tears
Her cries drew Tiffany's attention as she came down the staircase. She was heart-broken seeing her friend in such a horrible mood.
She bent down and hugged Amy who couldn't stop crying.
"He's never going to love me, is he?" Amy asked not expecting an answer
"hey! don't say that." Tiffany reprimanded. She knew Kol so well because he was her brother. And she also knew that he meant everything he said. She wanted to tell Amy to move on and quit trying any further but she couldn't bring herself to do it because she knew better than to advise a girl who is in love.
She helped her sit on the sofa and asked the maid to serve her a glass of water to help her relax.

Mrs Gillers was pacing up and down the hospital ward as her son had just been admitted. The bones in his right hand had been fracture badly.
She was confused as to why Raymond will just get so badly injured all of a sudden. She was so agitated. Raymond was her only son and she didn't want anything to happen to him. The doctor had asked her to wait outside as an operation would have to be carried out on Raymond's hand to join the broken bones.
Not long after, the doctor came out of the operating room and she ran towards him hurriedly.
"how's he doing?" she asked anxiously
"he is doing well, he's now stable. His hand is expected to be completely healed in a couple of weeks.
but during that period, he should not be allowed to raise heavy objects with the hand else the healing process will be slowed down" the doctor said
"thanks doc. Can I see him now?" she asked unable to hide her anxiety. She wanted to really see him to know how he was doing.
"yes you can. Come with me" the doctor said going towards the private ward where Raymond was moved to.
Not long after she got in, Raymond woke up. He looked so frightened as though someone was coming after him. His mother rushed towards him to make sure he was alright.
"Raymond, mum is here. Are you alright?" she asked with concern written all over her face
Raymond heaved a sigh of relief as he found out that it was his mother. Those men were really merciless as they broke his fingers one after the other without listening to his cries.
He never knew Rebecca would be with someone that heartless. He resolved to stay away from her from now on to avoid getting hurt in the future.
'she isn't even worth the chase anyway' he thought to himself
"Raymond, tell me. Who did this to you?" she asked him taking a look at his hand which was completely wrapped up in a bandage
"it's nothing mum. It's just a little accident" he replied covering up. He didn't want his mother to get hurt in the course of fighting for him as it seemed Rebecca's new lover was not an ordinary person
"do you think I'll buy that?" she asked sensing that he was lying. She was the last person he could lie to.
"mum, don't push it. I got into a little accident. Believe it or not, that's what happened" he said raising his voice a little. She didn't say anymore. Since he kept insisting that it was an accident, she should probably believe him. But why did she feel he was hiding something from her?

Rebecca lay on her bed, unable to sleep. She thought of the scene that played earlier that day. She was so shocked that Raymond could even think of embarrassing her in the presence of someone else. She never knew he was that shameless. She wished he'd just let her go and find someone that'll love him.
She was flustered at how Kol defended her earlier that day. She smiled subconsciously. He acted so protective of her and she couldn't deny the fact that she loved it.
She thought of how caring he was when he saw the bruises on her chin. He even touched it! Back then, when he touched her chin, she didn't whimper because it hurt her but because she felt that spark like a jolt of electricity course through her body. She didn't want him to retract his hand but he did anyway thinking she was badly hurt.
' I wish I were his business' she thought smiling to herself.
gosh! what am I thinking, she thought bringing herself back to reality
She tossed left and right on the bed several times before she finally managed to drift off to sleep.
