Although Archibald had made a compelling offer to move to Miami with him in three months, I asked him to give me time to think it over. I mean, I did have a while to give him an answer.
After two more days in Miami, I was back home to take care of business.
There were a few things I needed to do:
1. Dump Josiah and give back the Audi.?
2. Talk to Laura.
3. Go see my mother.
Once I got back to my apartment building, I greeted the receptionist and asked her if I had received any mail.
"You have some mail. And then there were flowers sent the past three days. They're outside your door." She told me, smiling sweetly as she handed over my things.
The receptionist had under-explained the amount of flowers or how many times I'd been sent them.
At the foot of my door were six bassinets; each filled with a dozen red roses. Most of them had already wilted.
I picked up the cards and read them:
1. I miss you.?
2. Call me when you get back, babe.?
3. Thinking of you.?
