I return the kiss just as fiercely, my lips angry and almost bruising, when Seneca places her hands on my shoulders, pushing me off her forcefully.

I look up at her, panting and trying to catch my breath. She smiles in amusement, breathing hard as well. "Shut your mouth for a while." She says in an almost whisper, and I nod, suddenly wordless.

She turns, looking at Alpha Parker, or just Hugh from now on.

He doesn't deserve to be called 'Alpha', anyway.

"We're leaving now." She pauses, looking at him flatly. "But this is not over. You'll pay for it, for every tear my Mate shed, you'll shed a thousand in return. Mark my words." She snaps, the razor-sharp tone of her smooth voice, sending a shiver up my spine.

Now, I see why people fear her so much.

"And you," Her eyes lock at something behind me, and I turn, craning my neck, to see Chance trying to sit up, clutching his injured side.
