Where does one get a passion? A particular vision for the future, for a dream?

'It could never be me.'

Metal clasped between shaking hands. Sweat simply a river down the back of the neck.

'Yeah... I'm not a hero. I the kid that would leave the back of the school oval with a bruised and battered body.'

A picture perfect representation according to the abusers.

'I wanted to be like them...'

With wide and fearful eyes the young teenagers eyes darted to a picture of him surrounded by seven others. Their faces were mostly blurred through his hazy gaze but all of them wore smiles.

'Never meet your hero's. I should have known better...'

Suddenly a massive charge to his bedroom door had it cave in and fly straight across the room. Without hesitation he fired exactly seven rounds of ammunition into the creature whom had come for him.

It dropped to the floor seemingly dead but no moment later it sprung up and smiled sinister its long slimy tongue wiggling as if to taught him.

The young man went to fire again but the gun jammed. In panic he grabbed a knife, the last thing he had between him and the hideous creature.

"You should come along boy. The Seekers don't like rebellious ones~" it hissed as he stood his ground, knife in hand. Growling lowly it assumed the position to pounce but was stopped by a voice behind.

"I'll take the boy, you're no longer required here Pathos"

The creature as if bound by the newcomers voice immediately bowed its head and didn't dare move. As if now fearing for its own life, the roles now dramatically being reversed.

"Go" without a noise the creature disappeared into ash. Seemingly just vanishing in thin air.

The Man responsible finally stepped into the bedroom. His eyes nowhere to be found, infact this being had no face at all. It was just a shadowlike figure that looked plagued. There was a saying that a creature like this did not eat unless it had too.

It's body although that of a shadow looked famished.

The new potential threat never once seemed to look in his direction but rather move around the bedroom. It however stopped at the picture that he had briefly looked at before firing.

"I am not your enemy-"

"-FUCK YOU, DON'T BULLSHIT ME. I'M NOT LIKE THEM! I WON'T GO NOWHERE! I'LL DIE HERE!" he cut off, yelling so much his throat had run till dry n raw. It was painful to swallow.

The adrenalin was still coursing through his veins. He didn't dare loosen the grip he had on the knife.

"Think what you want. I don't mind either way but your protest falls on death ears. You will come with us dead or alive, it does not matter." It responded void of emotion, it's voice although smooth, it was wispery as if it give the illusion of friendliness. It picked up the picture as if to look at its content- and just like that made it disappear.

Anger welled up in him upon that sight but he still didn't make a move. Infact he was pretty sure that he couldn't move out of fear. But even with that thought and the whirl of emotions he was going through. He wasn't about to just let himself be taken. At least not without a fight.

"I'll never go with you." He spat through gritted teeth as he was certain if he tried to talk normally his teeth would of chatted too much.

The being finally faced his direction...

It was ominous really, a void shadow figure of similar stature to a underweight tall man. No facial features but somehow starring through him as if caressing his soul.

"I will not say it again, it will be better for you if you came willingly though."

"Never."

It was too fast for the human eye to keep up with. But he felt it, the strong pull like that a dream or nightmare has when you try to run away. It was simply not possible to escape as endless darkness surrounded him. His knife and bedroom long forgotten as he heard the voices of people whom he knew had died.

'I tried to help this time too and I failed...' he thought as what seemed like forever had finally ceased and he stood in a line.

This wasn't your ordinary line either. Each individual including himself were shackled in strange cuffs located on hands, neck and ankles.

This wasn't his first time here either.

Looking down the line he saw more Pathos, they watched them like dogs to their masters.

'Nothing but puppets' he sneered as the line grew smaller rather quickly.

"Soul 4567- name?" Asked a small dark creature who resembled a goblin from video games. But this one was a hybrid with goat horn lookalikes and hooves.

"Matthew" he said at this point his rebelliousness didn't matter. Whether he said his name or not they already knew everything.

"This is your seventh reincarnation?"

'They say it as if it's some sort of secret' he thought sarcastically.

"Yes."

"I will now read you your charges to why you have been brought here. You may say either yes or no or remain silent. This procedure will not determine your fate but will hopefully give you an insight and further understanding. Be advised you may not remember much if anything at all. I will now proceed."

'Pointless'

"Your first chargement is: violation of a timeline leading to inconsistency. Do you agree?"

"No."

"The second, using unprecedented methods of communication between dimensions"

"No"

"Thirdly, assaulting a God tier being causing devastating damage"

"No"

"And lastly, rebellious confrontation."

"Oh for fuck sake! That was self defence!"

"Matthew Harbeiger, you retained your knowledge about this place n the way it works. You simply harassed everyone." The hybrid goblin looked at Matthew with an unimpressed look. As others in the hearing room laughed or snickered at the mortal in front of them.

"You amuse me." Came a bellowing voice from above. As the lessor beings all bowed their heads, including the hybrid in front of Matthew.

Turning around Matthew looked up into nothing but darkness pooling at the ceiling.

'Imagine being so ugly he doesn't show his face.' Matthew thought smugly before a bellowing laughter came afterwards.

"A mere mortal soul dare thinks such a remark in front of the one who has favoured your reincarnation so many times?"

Hearing this statement his anger flooded back and he pulled suddenly on his confinements.

"FUCK YOU! I NEVER ASKED TO BE YOUR FAVOURITE! INFACT JUST KILL MY SOUL NOW YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU'VE DONE NOTHING BUT MAKE ME SUFFER AGAIN AND AGAIN. HOW IS THAT FAVOURING!? DID YOU GET HARD AT THE SIGHT OF IT!?" His lash out was met with hisses and growls from those that had their heads still bowed.

"OH FUCK YOU GUYS TOO. BOWING TO A FUCK FACE LIKE THAT. BET YOU ALL JERK HIM OFF!" As much as he resisted and swore the laughing only grew louder.

His words held no weight to them- after all why would someone as powerful as a God maybe even more be offended by an ant?

As If to answer him though, the black fog pool above began to distort as something extremely big seemed to slowly desend.

Pressure-

Like nothing he'd ever felt in all seven of his reincarnations, hit him so hard most of his body melted to the floor beneath him.

Even those who bowed were at wits end. Struggling to breathe.

Footsteps so powerful and loud made its way to what remained of his body fused to the floor.

Strangely though, it didn't hurt?

"You're a mortal soul, you cannot be injured in this state. However-"

Suddenly- pain painted his entire thoughts as Matthew scream yelled so high his voice gave out.

"-the soul will feel everything if I want it too. You do amuse me. You're a mortal soul who retains all information, memories and more every reincarnation. That should be impossible considering the average mortal human soul would shattered with an overload of experience. Just as the mortal human mind cannot retain all memories and knowledge over time.

Of course I'd keep my eye on something so troublesome. Too bad I cannot keep your soul here as that is against Father Fate's power.

Because of that factor you are alive and continue to be reincarnated. Not to mention you screw up timeliness and more with useless shenanigans.

I may have power but I can only do so much with broken timelines. You are aware you've got more blood on your hands than me."

Hearing this Matthew shut down.

'Blood?' He thought.

"Seems even you didn't know what you were doing. You may have lost people in every reincarnation but you altered so many timelines you caused massive genocide within most if not all. I'm amazed you haven't been shattered as a soul for that."
