An Obscurus' Magical Might - Unlimited Potential! (I)

Deep within Darcie's mind, there was a yellow nebula, having brilliant yellow crystals bobbing up and down like stars.

It was like a giant mass of yellowness, surrounded by the vast blackness of space.

Each of the yellow crystals, acutely and precisely was so located that it reflected all other yellow crystals within the nebula.

Despite the bobbing movement, there was no gap in the structure. From time to time, pulses of light could be seen traveling between yellow crystals as if they were communicating with each other. If a foreign being, with a mediocre mind structure of his own, were to even look or try to comprehend the complexity of what was going on here, then he would break down on the spot, his mind losing all rationality.

This was Ad Infinitum.

Of course, not in the truest sense, as Darcie wasn't a Contestant. Thus, she had no concept of having an Ability. However, this structure did represent the presence of a foreign matter within her.

A foreign matter named Kai Stormborn.

At first, when Kai had reincarnated in her body, he could not actively think about controlling her. Not only that, but he also could not think about anything himself. His entire concentration went to divide up Darcie's actions, thoughts, and reactions while mastering the Concept of Facelessness.

Now, though, with Darcie's Sub-AI, the main Ad Infinitum, representing Kai Stormborn, could do other miscellaneous tasks.

One of those tasks was reverse engineering the Ancient Magical Script.

After years of Ad Infinitum constant processing, Kai had finally concluded that the three strokes within the Yellow Sign reflected three lost, abstruse, and highly complex scripts/languages. Also, each of these three languages belonged to a much larger structure of some kind, which he could trace back, given time.

Such was the case with Parseltongue.

Even though it was a part of the Ancient Magical Script, it was deemed as the language of the Deep Ones. So Kai believed if he combined all his knowledge of the runes, known scripts, and languages he had gained after his reincarnation with the Parseltongue, then he could definitely reach the Ancient Magical Script.

Then, as Darcie Malfoy was a Main Storyline Character, he could let her decode the five locked tales of the Book, instantly upgrading it.

However, it required constant effort, with over 99% of Kai's Ad Infinitum processing power dedicated to it.

Not to mention, while he wasn't in his Identity Period, he didn't receive any notification, either.

So, when the vast blackness surrounding the yellow nebula suddenly became foggy, turning material from ethereal, it caught the entire mind structure by surprise.

Hmm? Kai awakened from his contemplative hibernation along with the AI and frowned.

"Sync with Sub-AIs and Black failed…" the Ad Infinitum beeped out the warning.

Kai jolted out of his stupor. Only today this was the second time he had failed to contact Black, a thing which he had thought was almost impossible. But to get cut off from Darcie's Sub-AI, too, was a matter of unprecedented disbelief. He was within her mind…

Slowly, the AI paused all processes and directed its awareness outward.

Crack!

Thrummmmmmm!!

The entire yellow nebula of crystals was surrounded by dense, dark clouds, green bolts of lightning snaking through it as they boomed in and out of existence. For a moment, it felt like this violent torrent of darkness was amorphous, having no definite shape at all. In the next moment, the AI spied red, ominous cores looking like eyes within it.

It didn't take long for Kai to conclude that it was this mass of blackness that had cut him off from all the Sub-AIs and Black.

It also didn't take him long to guess what could have happened for things to become so bad. The moment he had become the Supreme Protector, he had already guessed a few things. Never had he thought that he would be facing his first challenge so soon, though.

So this is an unleashed Anomaly… Kai thought, a deep sense of foreboding running across the stars. But why the Systems never clarified what it truly means to be an Anomaly? There's some… mystery here… I just hope I am not too late to solve it…

For now, the only thing Kai knew about Anomaly was that it could ignore the Random World's overall Grade limit. That, too, he had derived from his battle with the Shadow Lord.

With the overall grade of Harry Potter Random World reaching C+, it meant that the unleashed Anomaly had the potential to reach a Top-level 10th-floor Contestant. But that couldn't be all to it, Kai believed now.

Suddenly, Kai also remembered the mention of Darcie's true potential as an Anomaly… and the mention of the 18th floor by Chaos…

The entire nebula suddenly shuddered.

As the parasitic, magical force closed off Kai, he couldn't help but put hopes in Black.

Because, as per Ad Infinitum, the worst case scenario wasn't Darcie ending up killing the entire Random World, but…

it was him getting stuck within her mind for eternity.

The constant booming of thunderbolts rang across the Bounded Field like the beating of drums.

From first-year Hogwarts Students to the Lord of Azkaban, all had paused as if someone had cast a petrification curse on them. No matter the color of their eyes, it got replaced by green… for a moment.

Then the green vanished, becoming vast, sinister blackness.

The undead, unlike their living counterparts, weren't subjected to the sheer beauty and ridiculousness of these events. Graphorn and Zouwu were still on their way to carry out the order to kill. The Basilisk's venomous, fanged-maw was still lunging to bite off the train, along with Hermione Granger.

The undead Hebridean Black was still spitting out fire, bombarding the unseen shield with more and more force.

Suddenly the shield vanished.

The purple pillar of fire sizzled through the air, melting the train's upper side instantly. Not even all the magic cast on the train could prevent it from getting damaged by a dragon's breath.

However, there was no golden-white hair girl in the fire's path anymore.

Standing between the train and the dragon, Black's dark gaze shifted left and right. No matter how strong he had become, and despite having the Observation Haki, he failed to pinpoint Darcie's presence… anywhere.

She announced her presence by herself.

CRACK!

An amorphous mass of blackness cracked into existence between Hermione and the Basilisk, thick bolts of green thunderbolts running across it as if they were alive. There was no shape to this liquid-like cloud. It churned into itself, blurring now and then, trying to take a forgotten form. However, there was some inherent Will about it; an intention.

It was this intention that made the blackness diffuse, temporarily regaining a semi-definite form.

This form looked like a girl, with terrifying, thin green bolts of electricity as its hair. Her eyes were so dark that it felt like staring into the void itself. Nothing else could be seen about her as her body kept switching between flesh and black fogginess.

However, when she lifted her hand… it still carried the Wand.

330 years old, Willow.

11 and a quarter inches long and quite limber. Green mostly, but light hues of black snaking up like bolts of lightning. Imperial black and silver handle, ornamented with six pairs of golden wings.

The core was a feather collected from the Algonquian people 400 years ago.

They claimed it belonged to a Thunderbird Emperor — Ruler of Skies; Destroyer of Serpents; Annihilator of Darkness; Bringer of Doom…

… A God; age unknown.

"Avis!"

The Obscurial's voice melted into the loud crack that followed it.

Out of all of the spells used to conjure living things, the Bird-Conjuring Charm was among the easiest spells. It conjured a flock of birds. Darcie had practiced it so many times that it had become one of her signature magic.

However, what happened next was beyond comprehension.

The Obscurial had indeed cast the spell.

But it was the Obscurus that fueled it with Magic. Even more ming-boggling fact was that the Wand itself was thrumming as if it was screaming in pleasure and pride, getting used by the most violent forces of nature at this moment.

Boom!

A blinding, green thunderbolt left the tip of the wand.

CRY!!

Three, over 10 ft large, Thunderbirds appeared around the Basilisk.

Their huge three-pair of wings flapped, creating thick bolts of green lightning as they lunged toward the giant serpent and clawed at its face, pecking out its fangs right off its mouth.

By the time eyes shifted from this stupendous display of magic to the caster standing between the train and the serpent, the Obscurus had already disappeared.

On the other side, Black's heart was thumping loudly in his chest.

Not because he had just lost the sight of Darcie once again. Not because he could sense Darcie's existence becoming equivalent to a Mid-level 10th floor Character. Not because he could feel her power rising with every moment.

But because the Three-headed Devourer within him had just…

… disappeared.
