Chapter 22: Evolution Ability - Rise of the Fairies

AN: Man had to do research on the timeline hahaha, and the reason for this is to know when Rhaenys died and I have to insert the events happening in Avalon(aka Old Valyria)

And for this chapter I have to do some descriptive writing  which I really hate hahaha, but to give the story more color I will work hard on it.

In this chapter I will be making some (Action/Appearance) enclosures so you can visualize the action or look of the character

5  years has passed by since Aegon started his conquest.  The birth of the land called Avalon echoed all throughout Planetos. By renaming the land of Old Valyria, the planet's magical energies spread and was felt by everyone. Magic Practitioners like Shadow Binders, Red Priests, Blood Mages, Wargs, Green Seers and many more felt their powers becoming stronger than ever. Ancient Ruins becoming more visible and the those that live within it crawl out into the world. Magical artifacts  that gathered dust came alive. Creatures that existed since the world's primordial days and have slumbered for over a millenia have now awaken. They all sense the origin of where the magic came from and one by one they travel towards it. These series of events occurring one after another was being watched closely by multiple magic eyes conjured by Irene with the help of  Malygos, Sindragosa and Arceus  through an arcane magic link spell.

Irene: It seems we have stirred quite a ruckus my friends

Malygos: This was bound to happen as this world's magic was so weak in the beginning.

Sindragosa: The sudden increase in magic will eventually draw both friend and foe towards Avalon

Arceus: Thus we must distinguish which ones will be our allies. This land has now become a sanctuary for both magical sentients and magical beasts. This also means our sanctuary has become the perfect hunting ground and we must defend it at any cost

Malygos: I agree with you Arceus, but learning and using magic is not enough. We must find ways to continuously strengthen our new friends and everyone else who lives in Avalon

Arceus: And I already have an answer to that Aspect of Magic

Sindragosa: Would you care to elaborate more on that Arceus

Irene: I think Arceus has already shown that answer with Neltharion and Vhagar as the prime examples. Isn't that right Arceus

Arceus: You are a smart one Irene. As you all remember, Vhagar and Neltharion both physically and magically changed through my evolution blessing. Due to evolution, they can protect these lands against any mortal army, but against magical foes I am not certain.

Irene: Indeed, fighting against any mortal made weapon is easy without them using magic, but a magical practitioner would be problematic.

Sindragosa: They also have to be familiar with the weakness of all magical foes they will face.

Malygos: So how do we proceed with this Arceus?

Arceus: I will not just grant the ability to evolve to dragons but all of Avalon's magical sentients and beasts. With the evolution ability their magic or skills will become stronger. This evolution ability will be another method to strengthening magic in this world. By evolving to a new species which could further branch to not just one, two or three but more. Vhagar is the first of her dragon species with her powers over Fairy, Lunar and Nature magic, while her mate Neltharion is the first dragon to have powers over Dimensional, Arcane and Elemental magic. Yet they can still evolve further to a different and newer dragon species even to the point of becoming Dragon Gods themselves.

Malygos: Won't this be challenged by this world's dieties Arceus?

Arceus: Some of them would, and I already have an idea which ones

Irene: Malygos question does raise certain issues Arceus. I am most specifically concerned with the the prime gods

Arceus: They already gave a response as I have discussed this with them

Sindragosa: And?

Arceus: They all agreed and could see that evolution is inevitable. For a thousand years magic became weaker as everything remain stagnant in every aspect. Whether its economics, education, technology, medicine and anything that matters in life should progress. So we start with the evolution ability

The chosen ones sent this anouncement via telepathy, which was received by everyone in Avalon. Since the world's magical leylines were rearranged in Avalon, the magical energies in the land were richer which awakened all sorts of skills and abilities. After receiving Arceus grand news this triggered an evolutionary phenomenon.

Leaf and Lilly evolved into a flying fairy like creature. Their physical are more petite and cuter.  They have sprouted a pair of antennae atop their head and developed small, transparent wings on their back. Their feet have become rounder, and their hands now consist of only three fingers each. With their evolution both COF were able to use the teleportation skill. (AN:Imagine Celebi in Pokemon, retained their golden catlike eyes). 

Leaf: Wow! So this is how to feels to fly

Lilly: Leaf it it is not only us that changed look at everyone else

Together with their evolution, a few of their fellow COF proficient in magic evolved into floating fae like creatures. The COF that evolved now appear mesmerizing. Most of of heir body is colored white, and there are three ruffles on each hip that look like a tutu. They now have skinny green legs with long, pointed feet replacing the toes. Their arms are also thin with two fingers each. Their hair style resembling two ponytails. Their large golden cat like eyes are visible on either side of the hair that covers the face. On each side of their head is a flat, crimson horn that resembles a hairpin. (AN:Imagine Kirlia in Pokemon retained their golden catlike eyes). 

(AN: For this dialogue I will just assign numbers and the evolution reference as it is very hard to think of sub character names)

COF 1: Wait a minute, how come they evolved and some of us did not

Leaf: You should have practiced your magic more my friend

Kirlia 1: Leaf does have a point, ever since we lived in Avalon some of you have been lazy

COF 2: It's not fair that only you get to be pretty

Lilly: Stop complaining. Just practice your magic and you might evolve sooner

The remaining COF that did not evolve pouted and accepted their defeat. After witnessing the evolution of their friends and family, those that did not started to have a burning passion to to train their magic even if it takes them all night long.

Gaia the leader of the Ifequevron also evolved. Her evolution was a far cry from her previous form. One of the noticeable changes was a shell-like structure that surrounded her body and a cone shell on her head. Thes shell is primarily pink with purple accents and features a series of glowing patterns. Gaia's skin became darker with a few white markings on her head and waist. Her eyes are rounder but still retained the golden color. Her hair's color turned pinkish red and styled looking like tentacles. Her wrists are covered with puffy pink bracelets and no longer have fingers. With her evolution she was now able to use water magic as well.(AN:Imagine Tapu Lele in Pokemon retained the golden eyes). 

The rest of the Ifequevron evolved to a bunch of charming and chubby fairy like creatures. Their body has a creamy, pale pink complexion. Their head became round, adorned with two large, expressive golden eyes. They now have pair of  large rabbit-like ears. Their overall transformation made them perfect cuddle buddies with their pink round cheeks, stubby arms and pointy feet are. (AN:Imagine Clefairy in Pokemon retained the golden eyes). 

A mixture of jealousy and admiration rose among those in the COF that haven't evolved. Not only have all the Ifequevron transformed, they also were much cuter and cuddly than their version of evolution. Sure their appearance look lady like but the Ifequevron were friendly looking and more approachable. The remaining unevolved COF confronted Arceus to make their complaints heard.

COF 1: Wait a minute how come all of the Ifequevron evolved and they look way cuter?

Arceus: Well their evolution appearance matches their proficiency in certain kinds of magic and most importantly their desire for the world to find them appealing and approachable. The skill proficiency of the COF and Ifequevron that evolved is close to the fairy pokemon back in my world. Their kind appealed greatly to people and found them endearing.

COF 2: Well at least its good to know that I'm gonna look cute and fabuluous when I evolved

Leaf: Well you still have a long way to go if you keep blabbering rather than training your magic

COF 1: Alright already were going back to studying and training our magic

Lilly: Now scram all of you

The mob of unevolved COF, returned to their forest city and were now being trained by Malygos and Sindragosa on Ward Magic.

A few members of the magical sentients from the merfolk, centaurs, sphinxes and harpies also evolved.

The merfolk that evolved were now able to both walk on land and swim the deepest part of the world's waters. Their appearance resembled as close to humans as possible. Their most noticeable traits are the variations of hair color ranging from Light Blue to Dark Green. Their eyes have become more snake like. Scales changed to human flesh. Famously known as sea devils luring men with their ethereal voice, the merfolk now have another weapon due to their evolution. Their beauty was enhanced a hundred fold that all of Avalon was enthralled by their appearance. When Visenya saw them she even admitted defeat that her Valyrian traits were nothing compared to the Merfolk that evolved. The COF that haven't evolved was more determined than ever after realizing that they could have attractive features as well.(AN: See this reference of Queen Atlanna an Atlantean DC character)

As one of Avalon's magical sentients, they are capable of using weapons and casting magic.  They use a trident as their weapon of choice when facing against foes in the deep seas. Evolved merfolk became proficient in Elemental, Fairy, Ward and Illussion magic. Gaining the ability to fight and defend has allowed the merfolk to create a small kingdom called Atlantis, in Avalon's waters, where the magical sea beasts also reside.

Amongst the merfolk, one named Ariel was chosen to lead her people. Ariel was also a close friend to Visenya, and doting aunt to Melisandre. The merfolk queen, sorceress queen and female arch mage would often study together and compete with one another to test their magical abilities. The Aspects of Magic were impressed by Ariel's learning ability that among her people she was the only one proficient in Arcane Magic.

Within the grassy plains and lush forests of Avalon lived the enigmatic centaurs. They have not wandered into the realm of men since the dawn age. Leaf, Lilly, Cenarius, Visenya, Malygos, and Sindragosa sensed magical energies which according to the aspects of magic resembled to hidden dimensions through the use of Illusion magic. The centaurs were caught surprised when their hidden sanctuary was discovered. If it weren't  for the COF that came along they would have attacked the intruders. Leaf and Lilly used their fairy magic to calm the centaurs. Although Cenarius have a low opinion on Centaurs back in Azeroth, he decided intervene as he felt best to discuss with Centaurs of Planetos, considering he resembles them closely. which was followed by their invitation to join their sanctuary in Avalon.

Their kind thrived greatly within Avalon.  Malygos and Sindragosa were greatly interested in the Centaurs as they were able to create their own dimension. The centaurs were more than happy to share with the Aspects of Magic about their knowledge in magic. This collaboration lead the centaurs mastery in Nature, Fairy, Lunar, Illusion and Arcane magic. Their proficiency allowed them to evolve into armor like beings capable of wielding bows, lances and spears. Some of them even learned the druid skill to transform into magical beasts. Their evolved appearance looked more human, but resembling elves due to the pointy ears. Malygos described their beauty closely resembling to the high elves with the lower body of a horse. Their beauty was parallel to the evolved merfolk, which made the COF that haven't evolve eager to train their magic with no rest.(AN: Imagine this https://www.deviantart.com/kevin-glint/art/Centaur-Mech-Girl-873997231.... could not find an appealing digimon or pokemon reference for centaurs)

Amongst the centaurs, one named Chiron stood out. He became an arch druid and arch mage with the blessing of Cenarius and the Aspects of Magic. He was one of the most skilled druids in Avalon together with Leaf, Lilly, Gaia, Dagon and Vhagar. He often sparred with Visenya and Melisandre, testing his skills in Arcane Magic. Amongst the centaurs he was the only one capable of using teleportation magic.

Within the skies of Avalon soared the playful harpies and sphinxes.

Since the Ghiscari wars, the harpies and sphinxes have become ancient enemies of the Valyrians and their dragons. This animosity never disappeared, instead grew stronger upon seeing two dragons intruding their home. Neltharion, Guardian Dragon of Time and Space disabled the surrounding illusion spells and wards which allowed him and Vhagar to enter their hidden sanctuary. The harpies and sphinxes launched their attack but were all trapped within a pink sphere that Vhagar conjured. Unable to escape their trap, the harpies and sphinxes were thrashing around their imprisonment when Neltharion threatened to unleash his black flames if they will not stay still. Vhagar smacked her tail on her mates head. Neltharion was pissed but The Guardian of Life immediately showed her affection to appease the dark green dragon. Vhagar used her fairy magic to calm the trembling harpies and sphinxes. After listening to the two dragons, both species agreed to live in Avalon.

Their new home in the 14 flames called Nexus was abundant with magic. It was a magical fortress within the caverns that connected the 14 volcanoes. The Nexus was fortress made of a complex magical construct through combination of Arcane, Lunar, Nature, Illusion and Ward Magic. This amazed and had the harpies and sphinxes immersed in figuring out how complex magic was even performed. Their decision to live in Avalon was indeed the right choice except for the fact they had to share their new home with a few dragons, Westerosi Giants and Jhogwin which they haven't seen for over a millennia. The avian sentients were territorial and did not like to cohabit with the others. It took a glare from Neltharion and a smirk from Vhagar to put them in their place.

Avalon gave them the freedom to roam its skies, and also to learn new and different kinds of magic. But before they could be taught Malygos, Sindragosa and Arceus demanded to remove traces of blood magic knowing the Ghiscari practiced it. This took a great amount persuasion with a threat from Neltharion where the avian sentients eventually relented. After their cleansing, they started getting taught by the Chosen Ones, while quickly grasping the knowledge for each type of magic. Eventually they became proficient in Elemental, Fairy, Illusion, Ward and Arcane Magic. Due to fairy magic, the harpies and sphinxes became more friendly and kind. They were more approachable and gave respect to everyone in Avalon. 

Their magical growth in learning different kinds of magic allowed some of them to evolve. The evolved harpies became more friendly looking, although retaining their sharp claws and talons.  The evolved ones now have a humanoid feminine figure, covered in white wings and feathers with yellow markings on the edges of their feathers and arms. Most significantly they now wear silver armor on their upper body and metal helm on their head.(AN: Imagine  Harpymon from Digimon)

While the sphinxes completely evolved into lions with their body covered in black and gold armor. Their armor is adorned with intricate hieroglyphics and symbols. Their wings are completely covered in gold armor. For those that evolved, their size also doubled similar to a fully grown dragon. (AN: Imagine Ancient Sphinxmon from Digimon)

Vhagar and Visenya often visited the harpies and sphinxes in Nexus, to inquire about the Ghiscari Wars. The harpy queen Aviana, who was as old as Genbu, regaled them with ancient tales during her kingdom's war with the Valyrians. The Ghiscari practiced blood magic which snuffed out the lives of Valyrian Soldier, but it was useless against the powerful flames of the Valyrian Dragons, where they eventually lost the war. Aviana also assured them that the past no longer mattered, as the present and future of her people was more important. Now the harpies and sphinxes had a role to play in the world's development.

Leaf(Celebi), Lilly(Celebi), Gaia(Tapu Lele) the evolved COF(Kirlia) and Ifequevron(Clefairy), Ariel, Chiron, and Aviana conversed with the Prime Dragon God about the fairy pokemon as all of them were highly proficient in this type of magic. Arceus described them with a sense of purity and playfulness, a strong connection to the mystical and otherworldly. Their abilities often include healing, charming, or creating protective barriers. They are highly known for their positive and gentle natures, making them amongst humans back in his world.

Gaia(Tapu Lele look): Will this stop the humans from harming us Arceus?

Arceus: It will definitely help in preventing them from harming you, but then again humans are fickle creatures. Though the charm of a fairy will definitely save you from a dangerous situation

Leaf(Celebi): It seems we are no longer what we used to be, I am uncertain if this change is for the better

Aviana: I think you should welcome such change my dear. This type of change is a good one, trust me, clinging to the past will just hinder your growth

Lilly(Celebi): Don't be such a downer Leaf, of course any kind of change is not easy, but eventually we will slowly adapt to it. I mean the harpies and sphinxes are no longer grouches, no offence Aviana

Aviana: None taken

Arceus: I cannot believe the words I am hearing from you Lilly. Words of wisdom, are quite unlike you

Lilly(Celebi): Don't push it Arceus, I just gave you a helping hand, and besides what's not to like with this change, I mean I am able to fly, now I can prank those dragon kids

Ariel: I knew it, you easily accepted all of this for frivolous reasons 

Lilly(Celebi): Hey at least I'm having a good time

Arceus: Your appearances may have changed but you are still the COF who took responsibility for your mistakes and rose to the occasion when action called for it.

Gaia(Tapu Lele): Arceus is right. In recognition of the fairy pokemon, I say we call ourselves the fairy race as well. One, we are as close to nature. Two, we are mystical and other worldly. Lastly, we are cute as hell. To the fairy race.

Chrion: That's the spirit Gaia. Yes, to the fairy race indeed

Aviana: So it shall be, on this day marks the rise of the fairies.

With the creation of a new race, Planetos magical energies had a boost. The Maiden Made of Light, and Westerosi Old Gods smiled upon the birth of a new magical race. The two decided to gift this new race a mystical and ethereal realm which would be a parallel dimension of the world. It would be a lush and vibrant world of unspoiled natural beauty. it will act as a mirror image of the physical world, but untouched by civilization, corruption, or the passage of time where nature reigns supreme. 

Arceus sensed the future plans of the two Prime Gods, thus announcing to those belonging to the fairy race. Cenarius was glad when he heard these plans as it was similar to the Emerald Dream back in Azeroth. The COF and Ifequevron rejoiced and strated praising the Westerosi Old Gods and Maiden Made of Light. On this day the fairies danced and sang in their forest city of Val'sharah
