The Lu Faction and The Lu Corporation

A look of incomprehension made its way on Wang Rouxi's flawless face, her eyebrows furrowed as she stared at Lu Qingya and Lu Wei, prodding them to elaborate on the matter.

Although she had involved herself in businesses before she left the country a few years back, it was not to the extent of touching those big conglomerates which could affect the World's Economy with just their beck and call.

Lu Corporation was a business entity that suddenly rose to fame and power two and a half years ago. The influence they yield was almost on par with the long-standing and well-established Business Giants such as the Wang Empire Estates.

Even the Xia Corporation which was established the same decade as the Wang Empire Estates was surpassed by the unprecedented rise of this dark horse.

The explosive rise of a company with an unknown origin alerted not only the small businesses, even the large companies could not help but be threatened.

In fear that the Lu Corporation would just come knocking at their doors one day to ask them to hand over their companies, the smaller companies banded to oust this big threat.

However, in the end, their plan to oust this "big threat" backfired and they were absorbed by the Lu Corporation instead.

No one knew where this Lu Corporation came from, even the identity of the higher-ups of this company remained unheard of.

Two and a half years ago, no one would have expected that a company which popped out of nowhere would storm through the Business World unheralded.

Wang Rouxi's departure coincided with sudden emergence of the Lu Corporation, thus, it didn't come to her mind that she had any relations with this company.

She left the mainland and went to various countries for a special mission. What she left behind was not a business giant like the Lu Corporation, but an assassination organization and a small front company by the same name that could shield their underground dealings!

Now, here she was listening to her subordinate's report saying that she founded a company which became a multi-billion business empire.

No matter what reasoning Wang Rouxi thought of, she still found it unbelievable.

Unless...

Just as she thought of countless possibilities, Lu Qingya took the initiative to explain, knowing that the always quiet and reserved Lu Wei would be too shy to speak, she nodded her head to affirm her earlier statement.

"Leader Xi, it was indeed you who founded the Lu Corporation. After you left that year, the five of us decided to expand our front company. Because of your absence, the Shang Faction became more brazen and they were eyeing our Lu Faction. We could only go with that course of action since the Headmaster seemed to favor them more."

Lu Qingya grew silent at this point. The hardships they faced those years ago replayed in her mind and she hurriedly lowered her head, her black hair hiding her face.

She was afraid that Wang Rouxi would see her pained expression. She also didn't dare tell her everything because she knew that their leader would storm her way to the Headquarters once she heard of what they had been through.

...

Not long after their leader left for that mission a few years ago, their rival faction grabbed the opportunity to launch sneak attacks and to poach their members. Without their leader, the Lu Faction then had fallen into complete disarray.

Some of the weaker ones yielded and went over the other camp. Some died on their missions, it was unknown if their deaths were premeditated or not.

The Fives Elites became the pillar for the Lu Faction through those times. Only half of their original number remained. All of them were still waiting for their leader to come back to lead them back to the top and avenge their fallen comrades.

But, alas, the Shang Faction didn't want to leave a path for them; they were set on disbanding the Lu Faction.

Knowing that it would be unfavorable for them to fight others with their current plight, Lu Sha, as their de facto leader, decided to lie low and instead ventured into business.

With their small front company as their starting point, the Lu Faction disbanded and they started up the Lu Corporation.

Using their connections, it was not long before the Lu Corporation burst through the Business Circle and became one of its pillars.

But how they did that is a story for another time.

...

Back to the present.

Wang Rouxi glanced at the now silent Lu Qingya, her eyes narrowed into thin slits. 'This lady was hiding something,' she was sure of it.

Nonetheless, she acted as though she hadn't detected anything wrong. Bidding them goodbye, she turned on her heel and walked back to where Lu Yizhi was.

"Ah, Leader Xi, your disguise is so good! Forgive me for my earlier offense. I couldn't really tell that it was you. Where are we going next?" Lu Yizhi rattled on while holding the car door open for her.

Wang Rouxi didn't enter as she looked at this chatterbox for a second and said, "Get inside the car."

Lu Yizhi tilted his head to the side in confusion but acquiesced to her command.

Without saying anything else, Wang Rouxi took the driver's seat and drove the car out of the underground parking lot.

At the backseat, Lu Yizhi was completely puzzled by their leader's actions. He should be the one driving for her and not the other way around!

"Where are we going, Leader Xi? Let me drive!" Lu Yizhi observed their leader's expression and even he, who was deemed as the densest one of their group, noticed that something was amiss.

Wang Rouxi didn't answer his question, her eyes were focused on the road ahead. She's thinking of what Lu Qingya said.

"...the Headmaster seemed to favor them more."

But that same Headmaster often gave her updates about her people. Why was Lu Qingya's recount so different from what she had heard before?

While she was thinking about this, they reached her house and she quickly dragged Lu Yizhi out of the car towards the living room.

"Tell me everything you know." Wang Rouxi eyed Lu Yizhi. "Don't leave a single detail out."

This time, Lu Yizhi was thoroughly floored. He had no idea what their leader was talking about.
