The promise
Mr. Watanabe was a respectable businessman, a doting father, and a loving husband. He had the average height and the average face. He had no remarkable features, his custom-made suits were perhaps the only thing that made him stand out in a crowd.
However, he was born extremely wealthy, became the owner of a famous fashion company, and married a beautiful wife. If having great luck were a competition, he would probably be a winner.
His wife was an actress in her prime years. Mr. Watanabe had been a big fan of her work and the two somehow naturally got acquainted with each other before falling in love and getting married. Later on, she decided to quit acting as she wanted to focus on raising her daughter and supporting her husband.
Mr. Watanabe loved his wife. Perhaps even more than he loved his daughter.
