"You wanted to talk to me?" Ayami immediately spoke, not even properly greeting the man.
Her tone wasn't one of familiarity, rather, it was one that you would usually use with a stranger or a work acquaintance.
Her father's deep voice could be heard chuckling in response to her question.
"Do you remember that day when you came over and asked me a favor?"
Ayami gulped as she heard this but said nothing in response, looking at the back of her father's chair.
"It was the first time you had asked something from me."
Ayami still remained quiet, not daring to say anything.
"You wanted to marry Akira," Mr. Watanabe continued. The emotions or the expression on his face could not be seen and hence, there was no way of knowing where this conversation was going to go. However, since Akira had been brought up, she could guess that there was no way this conversation was going to go well.
"That was before I fell in love with Asahi."
