The Engagement Ring

While Anthony and his mother where planning how they could change the rules of MITCL, Katrina and her grandmother were heading to their company. Katrina was still working on the new products that they planned to promote in the next month so this meeting was something that she was not happy about.

'It is a good thing that I had already thought about this engagement before, and had everything planned from before. It was also a good thing that grandma gave me a heads up before arriving so Steven had a chance to send the prompt messages when I forgot to mention something. Thank God James was the one that grandma had to do the research of all those potential family heirs that may be considered as my husband. It is just a shame that their younger son is two years younger than me, but when it comes to love and faithfulness, age is just a number. When would Chubby return? It has already been fifteen years since I have been in America, did he forget the promise he made to me? Chubby, please come back before my grandmother sets this wedding date,' Katrina sighed as she had been avoiding this outcome for the longest while.

Arriving at the building, Katrina helped her grandmother out of the car before they took the private elevator to their office from the underground car park. They had been using all precaution they could ever since the death of the other family members by increasing the security and preventing others from finding her.

After ensuring that her grandmother was settled in, Katrina left her in the office and head to the lab. In one of the lab, the designer was busy showing the jeweler how to make the set, while in another room another designer, computer technician and a jeweler was busy compiling Katrina's specially designed jewelry.

"I heard you had a meeting this morning, how did it go?" Matt asked.

"Meeting? More like an arranged marriage meeting," Katrina said walking over to the team.

"Come on Katy, you know that your grandmother had been planning to get you married for a while now."

"I know, but who would of thought it would be the biggest playboy in history."

"Anthony Frost?" Sabrina asked, looking up from her tablet screen.

"Yep, the most despicable bachelor in history."

"Good luck there, let us just hope that the lover boy who had you waiting for these fifteen years turn up right before your wedding date," Freddy said.

"I wish. The fifteen year death anniversary of my parents and brother is coming up soon and I really hope that the wedding wouldn't be the same date or before then."

"I don't think your grandmother would be that bad to make you get married the day your family die," Matt said.

"She mightn't be, but that wouldn't stop the Frost family from trying to set it on that date. I think that this Anthony guy has something plan. Freddy, get someone to keep an eye on him. I want to know everything that he does from this second all the way until the second we are supposed to get married. You can also get Andy to help out with the cameras. You guys know that our company needs to know everything that is happening around us. Frost would have some shares from our company, so we need to know every detail about our future shareholders."

"Yes ma'am, I would get to it immediately. Oh, by the way Jeffery seems to be looking for you," Freddy says before leaving Matt and Sabrina in the lab with me.

"Jeffrey? I thought Peter is the one that confess to you?" Sabrina asked.

"Yes, Peter did confess to me and I refused him. I think he is taking my rejection in a hard way and ever since he confessed our friendship has changed. I feel sorry for the guy, but to be honest, I have never seen him as anything other than a brother. Jeffrey however is Mr. Halley son, he is just looking for me because his father has been sick lately. Remember Mr. Halley was assigned to be Mr. and Mrs. Webber personal bodyguard, but since he got shot while protecting my grandmother it has been a bit though for him. I am thinking about hiring Jeffrey as her personal bodyguard, but I am not sure how that would work. I also think that Peter might be thinking about leaving."

"Hmm, such a shame if Peter leave, you know he knows a lot about you."

"I need to go the loo, ladies pardon me," Matt said and left Sabrina and Katrina in the lab alone as he head out.

"He knows only what I want him to know anyway. So how are things working out with the set you are making?" Katrina answered and asked at the same time.

"I am thinking about making this set an engagement and wedding set. In that case you can know everything and everywhere your husband would be, and we can also keep tabs on you, the set is almost finish. Katy, there was a gift sent to you earlier today as well, since I am your behind the scenes personal assistant, I collected it. I wanted to open it but the thing is, it can only be opened by you," Sabrina said as she unlocked her desk draw and hand Katrina a small gift box.

Katrina looked at the box resting on the desk, she hesitated to pick it up but decided after a few minutes knowing that see couldn't let the others see it. She picked up the box and as her finger touched the paper, she felt it cut her finger which caused her to drop the box on the table immediately.

"What happened?" Sabrina asked.

"It cut me."

"Ha, ha, I did the same when I was cut."

"Don't tell me this is one of your trick?" Katrina said and was about to hit Sabrina, but just then, the paper unwrapped itself.

"Identification confirmed," a mechanical voice said from the box, "Message from Chubby, this is a token of my love for you," and then the box open.

Inside the box was a piece of paper, Katrina picked up the paper and read it, 'It is almost fifteen years, I will be waiting for you at the cemetery on the fifteenth anniversary. I intend to keep my promise and if you plan to keep it, then wear the ring I have sent for you. Your Chubby.'

Katrina looked at the box and saw the most amazing ring ever, she picked it up and slipped it on her middle finger on her left hand, it seemed big so she was going to take it off, but the ring resized on its own and it became a perfect fit. Looking at it closely, it was an engagement ring.
