Chapter 9

"I'm still the same person," the man said quietly. "I am X, yours."

Yours.

Rachel was shocked, for a moment her heart fluttered hearing those words from his mouth. But she soon realized when the man kissed Rachel's hand that was on his cheek.

He still is the same X? Yes, you're still the same Xavier. But now you're someone's fiancé, you idiot!

She wanted to hit Xavier's head to realize that everything was different. Or at least yelling at Xavier for not realizing that their status is no longer the same.

Did Xavier think that she didn't know the man was engaged, even getting married next month? Huh, bastard!

Rachel rebuffed the hand harshly. "You may still be the same X, but I'm not your Rachel anymore," she said with a cold look. "I don't belong to you anymore."

The low tone, almost a whisper, sounded like a thunderbolt that struck Xavier's world right then and there.

The world where he was standing was shattered as soon as he heard it. His legs felt weak from shock and he could hardly believe that Rachel was no longer his. Thousands of invisible thorns tore Xavier's heart deeply.

"No!" he snapped looking furious. "You're mine, Rachel! Until then, forever, you're mine!"

Xavier insisted. He seemed to deny the fact that now Rachel's heart was no longer his.

"You forgot one thing? You're not on the side that can choose, Rachel," Xavier hissed while looking at her seriously. "and it will always be like that."

The two strong hands cupped Rachel's cheeks. The gaze was sharp, showing how serious Xavier was right now.

"I've probably never been in a fight again, or haven't even hurt anyone anymore," he mumbled quietly, but the look still showed anger. "But I'm still the same person."

Yes, Xavier is still Xavier.

Xavier is arrogant.

Xavier is absolute without being refuted.

Xavier is dominant and doesn't like being controlled by people.

Xavier, who even with just his sharp gaze, can make guts shrink instantly.

Xavier is a badass and stubborn, and Xavier can love Rachel with all his soul.

He pulled Rachel's neck and kissed her lips hard. One hand went down her neck, then slowly down her neck and shoulders. Then it moves back down the arm and ends up pulling the back closure.

Xavier didn't care about Rachel's struggles and blows in his chest which, according to him, didn't mean much.

Instead of stopping, Xavier was getting stronger and sipping as if he wanted to quench his thirst, after ten years he didn't feel the soft and sweet lips that made him addicted.

Rachel felt the swish coming back to spread throughout her body. Again she felt the hands that were so familiar with her body that pulled her waist closer without allowing the air to give distance.

Rachel realized what was going on. Since then, her usual resistance has never meant anything to Xavier. Shows he is still the same X. Xavier's reckless, selfish, and likes to do what he wants.

Rachel raised her hand to do something, but soon realized Xavier and the man immediately grabbed her hand and pushed her slender body against the door and squeezed it until there was no distance at all between the two of them. The woman felt the hard object rub against her under there.

Rachel closed her eyes, almost bursting with emotion at being treated like this, even though it was Xavier. The treatment, according to her, is no different from sexual harassment.

Previously she was able to endure and be able to face things like this because she had Xavier in her heart as a strength, and now it was this man who did it.

If it was her strength that did it, how could she survive?

Xavier's kiss stop and then moved down to her neck. Rachel panicked when Xavier's hand moved quickly to unbutton the woman's shirts one by one.

With all the courage and strength she had left, she pushed Xavier away.

PLAKK!!

A slap landed on Xavier's cheek. Hard enough that his face turned to the side from the severity of the slap and Xavier was stunned.

Xavier's chest rose and fell with anger. "You must know, Mr. Alexandre, I have often received such rude treatment before."

Rachel pointed her index finger right in front of his face. "But never once did I think I would get this treatment again from my superiors, who their employees said was a good and caring man."

Xavier was too shocked to digest everything Rachel said.

"Excuse me, Mr. Alexandre," she said goodbye without waiting for Xavier's answer.

Rachel quickly left the boss, who was still in shock and psychologically beaten. Shocked by what happened, and shocked by what the woman said.

Xavier could hardly believe that Rachel was no longer the Rachel he knew. He could hardly believe that he had lost Rachel for ten years, and the slap made him realize that she was really 'gone'. Her heart for him seemed to have died.

Rachel walked fast, almost running as far as possible. She gripped the top of the shirt that she hadn't had time to button.

The woman turned toward the toilet and was grateful that no one was there.

Her body slumped limply to the floor while leaning against the wall. She cried in despair as she tried to button her messy shirt back.

The woman looked down as soon as she realized that her hands were shaking so badly that she was having a hard time holding the buttons.

Rachel stared at the hand that was still shaking. It was this hand that had just slapped the fact that she had been crying over last night. She felt rumbling in the heart. Her breath was heavy. She wanted to claw her own body when the trauma began to take over again.

In the past, when she was treated like this by Mr. Rega, what she felt was anger and hatred. But when Xavier did it, what she felt was a tremendous disappointment.

She was disappointed because the one who did this was precisely the man she made strength and protection for.

Xavier is her strength, her place of refuge.

And now when Xavier himself is destroying her, what can she do?
