An Old Wound

However things seemed to never go as she planned.

Just as she was so close to the wall, and instead of jumping over it a group of vampires jumped from the other side.

"Dammit!" she gritted her canines and looked in vigilance while stopping from taking a single step forward.

All of sudden a group of five vampires appeared. They blocked her path. In normal situations, she wouldn't have paused for even a single second.

But one face from these five forced her to stop and gaze up at him in utter shock.

"Oh, I have to admit I'm flattered you remembered me," that vampire said in a laugh before he took a couple of steps forward. "What? Did you miss me?"

"Y... You..." Anna couldn't help but tremble out of shock and anger. The moment she saw that face, a storm of rage and sadness rose up from the depth of her soul.

It was like hell itself opened its doors over her face. She couldn't help but recall past events, memories that were so painful to bury deep down her soul.

Memories she tried to forget regarding the cursed night when she lost her parents were tossed away by her conscious mind.

Yet up till today she still experiences many nightmares on her nights. That might be one of the reasons behind her lack of good sleep for years after that awful incident.

And the most awful thing of all was that no one ever believed her! She tried to point out those who killed her parents, but the elder council never took the words of a ten years old girl for real.

"You've met already," James suddenly appeared and stood beside that vampire. He patted that killer's shoulder before giving Anna a deep glance.

"Leave her to me," that vampire said in a vicious tone while the other four behind him stepped forward.

"Don't try to mess her this time," James said and from his tone Anna realized she wasn't supposed to live through that night.

And just realizing this made her blood boil.

"Howl!"

As a wounded beast she howled before she darted towards this group of vampires. James was the first to run away while the team of five vampires moved to meet her up.

"Kill every single one of them," Anna suddenly roared in deep pain, "I won't forget any of you if you let anyone escape!"

"Hahaha, little girl... You are really something," James was having fun already, "you aren't in position to order anyone here. Your men will die before you do... this is my word for you!"

However she never cared about what her enemy said. James wasn't just someone who tried to kill her right now, but he already tried this years ago.

He failed once, and she would make sure he would fail this time as well. In return she would return the favor double and kill every single one of them before killing James.

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh!"

Just as she clashed with those vampires, she pierced the neck of one with her strong jaw. The neck didn't last for a second there before she threw it rolling away on the ground, creating a long trail of blood.

In return for losing one of their members, the other four slashed her body using their long and very sharp swords.

And yet the pain she felt didn't weaken her. In fact at this moment the rage boiling inside her body was enough to drown the entire world.

"Howl!"

She turned her head and howled again before she jumped at another one. Then another. And another. In less than a minute she managed to kill four of the vampires, while the ground all around was drenched in thick red blood.

The smell of blood reeked heavily from the ground around her, as it reeked from her body. She was already covered in many long and deep wounds.

However she never showed a moment of weakness. For her she dreamt about this moment for years. She never doubted her senses or memories. She knew what she saw, and today she finally had her moment of revenge.

She never dropped this old grudge after becoming a luna. The first request she asked from her alpha was for the pack to sniff around for clues about those killers.

But she gained nothing in return but mocking words from the elder council and many high members of the noble families in the pack. For them she looked like a little lunatic girl.

But she never took what they said to heart. She decided to wait for a year or so after becoming an alpha and then reopen this old case again.

However she never thought fate would bring such a present in front of her this soon. And now she realized why the pack never found any clue from before.

This group of killers didn't work alone, but they had people from inside her pack. 'These elders... I swear they will never stay alive after this...' her thoughts roared in anger while driving her body to exert her utmost power.

That power which she exerted made all the vampires here turn and gaze up at her in alarm.

This power made all her remaining werewolves feel pride to fight alongside such a courageous alpha.

As such tables suddenly turned around. Even some of those wolves twitching in pain on the ground endured and stood on their feet.

Instead of losing members of her guards, her guards made sure to bring down many vampires alongside them. Her actions here inspired everyone around, and deeply frightened her enemies.

"Change of plans," just as she was sparring with that killer, the one who killed her family, James appeared with a group of five more vampires, "I'll kill you first. Curse your stubbornness for that!"

"Howl!"

Just as she was thrown back in the air, she howled again and instantly the remaining six werewolves howled in response.

At this moment it seemed there weren't just six werewolves, but an entire pack. The vampires couldn't help but feel fear while the wolves jumped and darted at their necks, smashing their heads and throwing their lives in the wind.

"Damn You!" just as she landed, she didn't return to fight James and the killer. However she turned around and joined the nearby fights. Just before James could stop her, she already killed around five more vampires.
