'Fuck!'

I cursed in my heart as I opened my eyes and saw everybody near me looking at me.

I forgot one crucial detail about the mermaid lake. More, like overlooked it. The detail is that others could sense the amount of energy, one is taking.

I looked into their eyes and didn't show even a hint of worry. Instead, I sighed.

"Not powerful enough," I said with a regretful tone. As if it is not par with my expectations.

Though a moment later, a relaxed smile appeared on my face despite feeling bone tired in my body and soul.

I was only able to stabilize myself from turning into the goo, but I needed rest. A lot of it and planned to do that, on the side of the lake, but now it wouldn't be possible.

The energy I took, and the time, I had spent stabilizing had made them suspicious.
