Safe House

'Let it come,' I said to them as I stopped. 

I had not wanted to fight any monster, but this one was different; it had sensed me despite there being a huge distance between us.

With the current level of progress in my stealth method, it is very hard for them to sense me from such a long distance.

All the monsters had sensed me before had been within five hundred meters of distance, but this one was little more than a mile away, and it had still sensed me; it couldn't help but fascinate me.

Growl!

It stopped in front of me and growled while I looked at it, slightly confused, as it looked wolf and also a dog. 

It has grey fur with red strips across its body; one of the red strips goes between its eyes, giving it a quite menacing look, which is also the element that confuses the hell out of me.
