MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Mage

Everdawn. It was a game that was released to the public in 2025. What made it a hit was that it was the first-ever V.R.M.M.O.R.P.G released to the public. In no time it became the best game in the world. Soon people started to create things called “guilds”. These guilds were like the teams in E-Sports. However, they were more like companies. This was thanks to the game's “money” feature where you could trade in-game money for IRL cash. Elias Thorne was one of the greatest players in Everdawn. With his skills, he was able to be a part of the Valhalla guild however, fearing his power the guild kicked him out but not before stealing his account. However, out of pettiness, they gave him a small item that he had received from one of his first quests. But the next thing he knew he was back in time 14 years before Everdawn was released. With his newfound knowledge of the future, he was going to rise to the top and get revenge on those who betrayed him.

The First Town

In a certain area of the forest, a pack of wolves surrounded a young man wearing a cloak and holding a staff. Growling the wolves slowly approached closer before one pounced however, as it did the young man pointed the staff at the wolf which was shortly followed by a loud explosion.

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Wolf]{lvl 3}!]

[+16 EXP]

The wolves were surprised however, the biggest one barked at them causing the others to try and sniff the air, however, the young man reappeared behind another wolf causing an explosion.

[You've Killed [Wolf]{lvl 4}!]

[+25 EXP]

Then another.

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Wolf]{lvl 4}!]

[+21 EXP]

Then another.

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Wolf]{lvl 4}!]

[+22 EXP]

And finally one more.

*BOOM*

[You Leveled up!]

Seeing that the biggest wolf started to whimper and tried to run away however, instead ran into a magic staff.

*BOOM*

[You've Killed [Wolf]{lvl 5}!]

[+25 EXP]

With a breath, I opened my status window.

Nodding I decided to save the status points as if I needed to upgrade something later then I'd have it handy.

But now I had reached my goal of level 10 meaning I could finally leave the village. With a breath, I opened my map and marked the location of the first town. Then a sudden pillar of blue light appeared in the distance signalling where I had to go.

Pulling the hood of my cloak over my head I started to walk to where the blue pillar of light was. As I made it half way I noticed a group of people heading back.

Anyone could leave the starting village at any time however, it wasn't recommended that you go to the first town straight away. This is mainly because of the high-level monsters that are near the first town.

A small smile formed on my lips as I thought about the EXP farm I was going to make.

But just as I was thinking that I felt a pain near my shoulder. Now it wasn't anything too bad the best way I could describe it was a little pinch.

[-20 HP]

"I hit him for 20!" Hearing the shout I instantly knew what was happening and held my staff in my hands.

Quickly turning back I activated [Magic Barrier] stopping the 2 arrows that were heading toward me.

The 2 other players then charged toward me. This caused me to curse.

'Damn P.K.ing already?'

Pointing my staff I quickly activated [Fire Blast] "Explode,"

*BOOM*

An explosion appeared in front of me causing smoke to cover everyone's vision. I quickly activated [Dash] and appeared a small distance away from the group. I kept using [Dash] but quickly moved to the side dodging 2 more arrows.

"Damn it!"

Through the smoke, I saw one of the figures lunge toward me. Raising my staff I pointed it at him and activated [Fire Blast].

*BOOM*

[-78 Damage]

"Argh!"

Hearing that I saw the bulky guy flying in the air but then I saw the other guy who had a crimson glow around him charging toward me.

'Damn the [Hunter] Class!'

This meant I needed to kill them right here and now. A cold glint appeared in my eyes as I aimed my staff at the guy with the red glow but just as my spell was forming I pointed it down.

*BOOM*

Just as the explosion happened I flew into the air and a blue-tinted barrier appeared around me.

Pointing my staff at the group I activated [Fire Blast]. Instantly 5 explosions happened causing a few notifications to appear in front of me.

[You've killed player [Seacock]!]

[You gain +50 EXP]

[You've killed player [Tringoid]!]

[You gain +50 EXP]

[You've killed player [B0xx3r]!]

[You gain +50 EXP]

Landing on the floor I let out a breath and outstretched my hand causing a bottle of blue liquid to appear.

Uncapping the bottle I then started to drink it. After finishing the bottle my Mana started to regenerate which caused me to curse.

With a sigh, I grabbed all of the loot the players had.

Thankfully there weren't going to be any consequences for me. This was thanks to the game's combat engine.

If a player kills another player then they will have a skull next to their name which also causes the NPC's to treat you badly. However, that doesn't mean you can't kill someone. Say if someone was going to kill you however, you kill them instead, you wouldn't have any effects placed on you.

With a sigh, I was honestly impressed by the person who made the game. Well, I didn't really pay attention to who made the game or even how they made it but they were a genius.

I continued to walk until I saw a giant structure up ahead. While it wasn't super fancy it was still impressive. I approached the gate and noticed 2 guards who glanced at me but let me through. Cracking my body I then made my way to a certain store.

Looking at the store in front of me I couldn't help but smile bitterly. The store itself seemed to be rundown with the sign which read [The Steeled Griffin] was comically dangling from the side. Opening the door I was greeted with a similar sight however, as I inspected the weapons I couldn't help but smile.

'Damn were they really this good?'

As I was inspecting the items I heard someone cough.

"Ahem, Ahem,"

Turning my head to the right I saw a man with brown hair dressed in a shabby red shirt and black pants.

"Hello, good sir and I welcome you to The Steeled Griffin, how can I help you?" he said with a smile

I slowly approached the counter and started to list the things I wanted "Do you happen to have any wands or staffs that have silver embedded into them?"

He thought for a moment "Yes we do," going under the counter I heard him rifle through some things.

"Let's see, no, not you, not you either, oh that's where this has been! Hm nope, Ah here we go!"

Placing a staff on the counter with a smile he started to tell me about the staff. However, I opened the status window of the item.

I then looked at the staff. The staff itself was made of wood however, thanks to the light you could see sparkles of silver making the staff look like it was shining. On top of the staff, however, a blue stone was embedded into it. Taking the staff I started to wave it around like it was a sword and I nodded.

"How much?"

"350 Evergold," he said without batting an eye.

Hearing that I almost coughed up blood but paid for it but I then also asked for something else "Oh right do you have any small staffs that are similar to this?"

***

"Thanks for your patronage!" hearing that I let out a sigh

I only had around 1,200 Evergold left which was enough for the spells I wanted to buy however, this did cause a little bit of a problem but I hoped the quest could give me more Evergold. Navigating through the giant city I noticed how many NPCs were talking and laughing however, there weren't many players here.

'I guess I have to stay on the down low for now'

If I garnered too much attention the [Dash] skill would probably be noticed meaning it would be taken away affecting my plans.

'Well let's just get those spells'

I then stood in front of a store that was much more stunning than The Steeled Griffin. The sign on the store read The Enchanted Quil.

Opening the door a ringing noise filled my ears as I entered.

"Welcome to The Enchanted Quil," hearing a tired voice I turned to see a woman who seemed to be bored and was reading a book.

Approaching her I then asked for the spells I was looking for "Ah hello do you have the [Flame Arrow] spell and the [Flameforge] spell?" Looking up from her book she let out a sigh before she waved her hand. Instantly 2 books started to fly and make their way over to the desk.

"Anything else?"

"No"

"Good then that would be 800 Evergold,"

My mouth twitched as I heard the price however, I paid the amount and took the books making my way out. I opened the first book and a status window appeared in front of me.
