Chaotic Energy

"There is a special type of mana that originates from a world beyond ours. This mana acts as an energy of pure nothingness. Using it consumes everything, and eradicates everything. It's pure destruction. Immortals, magic, spells, none of that matters. Instead of using basic mana, I'll be using this energy instead." Christopher stood quite a distance away from his friend, lifting his finger into the air while teaching him.

"Really? So instead of basic mana, we'll use something new?"

Christopher nodded, "Indeed. I've learned it from an ancient book found in a dungeon, left behind by a couple of dead adventurers."

"J-Jeez… exploring a dungeon at this age is usually impossible, I'm not surprised since it's you out of all people."

Christopher smiled smugly, responding, "I am the strongest there is, and will ever be throughout my race. Acting surprised by me doing such feats will eventually fade away."

"I guess you're right…" Benevuyal scratched the back of his head, laughing, "Even though the villagers of our village hate to admit it, they've been feeling safe with you around. They know what you can do, and understand your potential, however, they just hate that you're a mix of human and dryad."

"Racism at its finest." Christopher sighed past his lips, placing his hand against his hip, "Not that I care of course. I'm only in that village to look after my mother. She's the only one that matters to me next to you."

Benevuyal smiled, saying, "I appreciate that. I wanna do my best to protect you as much as I can as well, Christopher."

"Ahem…" The hybrid glanced to the side, blushing on his cheeks before clapping his hands together, "Anyways, we're getting off-topic here."

Christopher and Benevuyal talked for some time. He explained the basics of this foreign magic while Benevuyal started losing track, being confused about its concept.

It took over an hour until he started getting an understanding of this magic, but Christopher himself was exhausted dealing with someone so airheaded.

Christopher manifested the destructive energy inside his hands, corroding a tree the moment he touched it, showing its capabilities to his friend.

Benevuyal was ecstatic at the sight, clapping his hands and trying to do it himself, but inevitably failing.

The hybrid laughed at him, mocking his failures, but also tried to show him step-by-step on how to use it.

Eventually… hours had passed.

"Okay… I think I got it!" Benevuyal smiled, stretching his hand forward, "I must manifest the mana from Oblivion… and lay waste to my target!" After hours of training, he finally summoned a small amount of dark mana in front of him, smiling in delight, "Oh, I did it! I summoned the mana from oblivion!"

"About time…" Said the annoyed Christopher, sighing, "Now then, hold it for an entire minute. That way, you'll adapt to its nature and be one with it."

"A-An entire minute? There's no way in Terra I could do something like that!"

Christopher smiled, walking next to his friend, "There's no other way to practice it. I thought you wanted to reach my level, Benevuyal?" Christopher poked at his ego, boosting Benevuyal's determination.

"I-I do… I want to climb up the top right next to you, Christopher!"

"Good. Then prove you can do it—let's be unique compared to everyone else!"

"Yeah… we'll become the strongest together!" Benevuyal showed a strained smile, keeping the dark mana conjured in front of him.

The Mana of nothingness came from a realm beyond the multiverse, heavens, and even the higher multiverse where the Titans existed. This realm was known as Oblivion. A world of pure destruction, death, and chaos.

Utilizing this energy would make someone an anomaly, outside the system and workings of inborn magic, and origin magic.

Inborn Magic is said to be created from the Five Elder Mages;

{Celestial Magic, created from Elder Mage, Boyle Dol.

Defensive Magic, created from Elder Mage, Maa Edigma

Elemental Magic, created by Elder Mage, Yusoth Ravultah.

Necromancy Magic, created by Elder Mage, Elissia Mubong.

Debuff Magic, created from Elder Mage, Jin Ruta.}

Similar to the Holy Trinity who created the concept of magic, the Five Elder Mages created their own concept of it as well, but they called it inborn magic.

They were a team together, known throughout history as the strongest mages.

With their combined power, they connected with Terra and modified the world, causing new lifeforms to be born with something known as inborn magic.

After the 5 Elder Mages changed the world, the new generation was bestowed with inborn magic, learning their inborn spells at such a young age, and mastering spells faster than the older generation.

This changed the course of events for ages.

It's said they did this to bestow the newer generation with methods of fighting back against some future threat that they kept secret. But those are just rumors.

In the past, before Inborn magic was created, there was something known as Origin magic. This was the magic that everyone used at that time before it was thrown to the side by something greater.

But, outside of those magic concepts, Oblivion remained the most destructive, and chaotic energy of all.

Its nature defied the world, and even the Gods.

And Christopher could manifest it into existence while teaching others how to do it.

("Christopher said to summon forth the energy of Oblivion, I must devoid myself of all emotions and thought, and focus solely on the empty void within my heart once those emotions are gone. The void in my heart is the vessel I need, to harness forth the nihilistic energy, and use it to my heart desire.")

Benevuyal smiled, proud of himself for his accomplishment, but… something breathtaking caught him off guard.

"Huh? A-Aahhhhh!!" All of a sudden, the void-like energy in his hand spiraled out of control as black lightning emitted from its interior, evaporating everything around its radius, "Christopher, what's happening?!"

To the hybrid's surprise, controlling this chaotic energy backfired exponentially.

"Benevuyal, get rid of it! Quickly!" He stepped back, covering his face as the lightning sporadically spiraled out of control.

"I-I can't! Something's preventing me!"

"What do you mean something is preventing you?!" Shouted the worried Christopher, manifesting a spell inside his hand, "Insignia!" Three magical circles overlapped each other as Christopher launched a wave of negative mana toward the chaotic energy, however, it was reduced to nothingness.

F-Tier Debuff magic was useless.

"The energy can prevent Sinful Debuff… what can I do?!" The hybrid clenched his teeth, muttering, "Damnit!" Christopher stretched both arms to the side, lifting his palms into the air, "I'll do it… the spell we've been practicing!"

"Christopher, no! Don't you see what's happening?! I-It's dangerous to use that energy!!"

"I don't care. I'm the one at fault here, so be quiet, and let me stop this!"

The condensed energy started growing larger inside Benevuyal's hand until it began corroding his arm, "Ghhh… Gaaaahhhh!!"

"Benevuyal!?!" Christopher shouted in terror as he widened his eyes, watching his companion get hurt, "Nihilistic Voyage!" Straightening his arms to the front, Christopher formed a sphere of dark energy in the space between the palms of each hand, emitting sporadic bolts of Oblivion energy.

In mere moments, a massive beam of mana shot forward, engulfing Benevuyal's chaotic energy, and overpowering it with more quantity.

The Destructive attack had decimated all it touched from its chaotic nature, exploding in the vast distances away from them as he pushed it back.

"B-Benevuyal?!" Running towards his companion who fell flat on their face, Christopher picked them up bridal style, carrying them in his arms, "Answer me. Are you alright?!"

He could only groan, unable to muster any words with his exhausted body.

"I'll take you home, right away!" Christopher turned around, facing the direction of their village… but noticed something in the corner of his eye. "…Huh?"

It was the leftover energy from Benevuyal. It was small, having swarming tentacles protruding from its interior.

Just looking at it made Christopher feel woozy… but it eventually disappeared into nothingness, leaving not a single trace of its existence.

"I read something like that in the book, but it's never happened to me… so why? Why Benevuyal?" Disappointed, Christopher glanced away in shame, frowning in his face.

It's said that Oblivion was a realm sealed away a long time ago through the power of the Five Elder Mages.

Its very existence could annihilate the world, not from the chaotic energy, but from something even worse.

Grotesque, unfathomable horrors beyond comprehension resided within this realm, squirming in their otherworldly form. It was a realm that no mortal eye should witness, even to the Gods themselves.

These creatures had many names. Some called them the Other Gods, some referred to them as the Ultimate Gods, and others preferred Outer Gods.

Christopher was the first mortal in existence to utilize the energy and tame it.

Without him, Benevuyal would've died from the inevitable and summoned forth these creatures into the mortal domain.

"I will never use that energy again, unless absolutely necessary. I'm sorry, Benevuyal, this was my fault." He hung his head low, grunting at himself as a tear fell from his eye, "I didn't want to hurt you…"
