Wedding (Part III)

Her voice sliced through the silence and the look on Olivia's face changed. She tore her eyes away from his and jerked her head to the pew. Olivia wanted to see who had the nerve to speak about her in that manner.

Her focus on Reginald waned and she was all too reminded that her wedding was just a facade. Olivia's eyes fell on Madeline who raised a brow, feigning a look of surprise.

She looked around too, trying to figure who said such about the Princess. Olivia's lips raised as though she knew what was happening. She noticed Madeline was wearing a white gown.

She wore little braids that held her air in a half updo, it gave her a look that made her seem like a bride.

Olivia ignored the later and focused on the priest officiating them. She had totally forgotten about Reginald. Returning her gaze to him, they turned frigid. Her stance was stiff, as though she was about to fight.

There was a solemn silence after the woman's word and the Priest never wasted a time in announcing that they took the vows.

He asked Olivia to repeat what he was saying, because he was not in the mood to preach about the union. He felt the air was uncomfortable for him to stay in, that was why he was rushing it.

The King however didn't say a word. He remained sitted, looking as though he was going in a second. A small smile was on his weak face as he watched his little girl recite her vows.

He did not mind if she decided to be different on her wedding day, after all she was a unique one. Just like her mother.

"...in health and in truth... till death do us part." She was staring at him in the eyes, while reciting this. Her right hand was raised, while her other hand clenched her gown tightly.

Olivia hated the fact that someone who was having an extra affair was reciting this to her. She wanted to scream at everybody and point a finger at him. She wanted to get rid of the heavy gown and its tight corset that made breathing difficult.

His deep voice repeated after the Priest, while he never tore his eyes from her. Reginald still felt that electrocuted feeling singing into his body, and he almost sounded soulful reciting those words.

It made Olivia's jaw worked as she stared at him, for the sake of the ceremony. He could see her hidden anger visible in her eyes. But he never knew why. She was shooting him a glare that spoke of countless accusations. Something that spoke the exact opposite of the vows they were exchanging.

He was also angry too. Why would she give him that look? Why was she going along with this union if she never wanted it? Why was she just too wicked that made her too perfect for the role of an antagonist? Why...?

The Priest had faced the pew asking if there was someone opposing the union of the two.

Madeline on her part wanted to rise but she knew that all her effort would be ruined by it. So instead, she bit her lips and remained sitted. She so badly wanted to see the Princess react, but the effect she wanted... she could get it after their marriage.

She smirked at her thoughts.

Olivia was surprised after casting a glance at Madeline. She expected the lady to object but she remained sitted. Something was wrong!

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The Priest's solemn voice drew her out of her head. In reaction to his words, Olivia's expression crumbled into a grimace that said it all.

He felt his pride being trampled on as he saw her expression. Just what was wrong with this woman!?!?

Without wasting time, he grabbed Olivia's wrist and pulled her to him. Her body slammed his, while his dark eyes fell on her lips.

His actions stunned the crowd especially the king. He thought the kids were not happy they were being hooked together. Who would have thought he was mistaken?

Madeline almost rose from where she was sitted as soon as Reginald did that. W-what??

Olivia was almost fighting to escape his grip, but she stiffened in his arms because they were in the presence of people. She did not want more rumors to the one already trending.

That didn't mean she would allow Reginald kiss her... On. The. Lips!

She turned to her cheek instead while she felt greatly repulsed. This was because the image of Madeline tipping her toes to kiss him kept appearing in her head.

She felt Reginald's warm lips falling on her cheek and she jolted. Her eyes dilated because she thought she was going to hate the feel of his lips on her body. Sadly, she didn't.

Reginald's arms loosened up and she took a step back staring at him. This time the look on her eyes melted. But it went back being fiercer than before.

Reginald did not even look at her after that, and it only made her anger toward him grew worse.

He on his part, scoffed. To think that he was going to kiss her lips. He only grabbed her because she was refusing to come forward. There was no way he would even kiss her there. Even though she was to be the most beautiful person before them.

Her attitude repelled him. But still, something was not right pertaining to the way she acted. It was as though Olivia never trusted him to start with.

___

They were taken to the Hayes' mansion to hold an after-wedding party for the both of them. The King could not attend because he was too weak. The Consort had decided to attend in his stead, making sure she planned her comeback against Olivia.

She had watched when the woman had voiced out her opinion concerning Olivia's dress. So, she decided to do something that was going to spark more that evening.

Meanwhile... In the couple's carriage...

There was a terrible silence that ensued between two of them. Olivia clenched hard at her gown to the extent it looked as though she was about to crack her fingers.

Reginald on the other hand didn't care less about striking a conversation between them. He was sure if he did, they might end up not wanting to head to the after-party. So he maintained his space.

Just when they almost immersed in each other's thought, the carriage bumped to the side, causing the Princess to sway into his arms.
