CHAPTER 11

"Doc, how's mom?" Sofia is in the hospital to ask her mother's doctor how her mother is.

Her mother's operation is over and now they are leaving the hospital. She just wants to know if her mom is well after the operation.

She asks this every day. It's a good thing her mom's doctor wasn't angry with her.

Her mom's doctor just laughs at her often naughty questions to allay her worries about her mother.

Dave allowed her to watch over her mother for a week until she was released from the hospital.

Tomorrow is the first day she starts her work for Dave's friend.

She was on vacation from her school.

She was out of school for two weeks.

Sofia tells Dave that she will work for all the days she has no school for Daves's friend.

Sofia told Dave that she was going to focus on her work for two weeks straight.

Sofia wants to make up for Dave's kindness and her mother's care for them.

Dave passes by every day even for a moment to peek at them with her mom. To say hello, and ask about her mom's condition.

Sofia saw how kind Dave was not only to his friend who was rude and antipathetic. But even to them her mother.

She saw its kindness and concern.

Even its desire to help them with her mom and his friend.

Sofia hopes the habit of Dave's friend will change.

Her mom's doctor replied that her mom was okay and her mom needed to rest properly so that she could be completely healed.

A wide smile flashed on Sofia's face.

She was happy to hear that her mom was fine.

She can now breathe properly.

She can work at Dave's friend's house without hesitation thinking about how her mom is and no more worrying while she is away from her mom.

"Hello," Dave echoed as he peered through the open door.

"Good morning," he looked at Sofia's mother. "Hi, aunt, how are you? Are you feeling well now?"

"Hi, Sofia," Dave greeted as he watched her enter the door. "Good morning, what are you carrying?" it was looking at Sophia's purse and in the blue plastic bag.

Sofia's gaze looked down to look and show Dave what she was carrying. "This?" Sofia pointed to the blue plastic. Dave nods while he smiles at her.

"Food, have you eaten yet?" Sofia walked closer to her mother and Dave who was also sitting next to her mom.

"Come in," Sofia's mother said to Dave.

Sofia had just arrived.

She bought her mother something to eat.

"That's great I haven't eaten yet," Dave exclaimed, as he opened the plastic bag Sofia had dropped on the side of her mother's bed.

"Looks like you bought it delicious?" Dave commented when he saw the hot-cooked food.

Sofia bought rice and a dish at the hospital canteen. Just as she was going there, she saw that the new dish had just landed and she asked if there was any rice available.

Fortunately, there is also cooked rice.

Suddenly Sofia craved the smell of the freshly cooked menudo and beef afritada when she saw that the broth was still thickening.

"Okay, come and eat with us," Sofia offered.

She walked over to the pouch of disposable plates and spoons he had bought.

Sofia didn't want to dishwasher the food she and her mom had eaten, so she bought a disposable after they ate so she could dispose of it.

Dave ate so well, Sofia and her mother just stared at it while Dave was so delicious to eat.

"Didn't you eat last night? It's just that you look like you haven't eaten for a few days." Said Sofia.

She noticed that Dave seemed very hungry.

Fortunately, she added a few extra pieces of rice when she thought Dave might come suddenly.

Dave mentioned in the text that her mother would pick them up to take them to their house. So that they don't have to commute and have to spend.

Dave just smiled.

"Sofia, are you two?"

Sofia shook her head quickly.

"No mom, it's vague," Sofia replied, a trace on her face that her mother saw with frustration and concern.

"I think you two?" her mom said again.

"No mom," Sofia answered her mom.

"It's a pity," her mom has a sad face while whispering.

"I thought you two?" added her mom.

At that moment Dave looked up and looked at Sofia's mother.

He just listened to two while talking.

"It's hard to get Sofia, aunt, she's very picky," Dave said.

"Sofia wants a man who is even more handsome than me." Dave's mouth smiled as he joked with Sofia's mom.

"But if Sofia will allow," he winked his eyes.

Sofia's mother laughed at Dave's words.

"As for you Sofia, are you still looking for someone more handsome here than Dave?" Asked her mother, looking at Sofia.

"She's not flirting," Sofia said shyly, as she put away their finished food.

Sofia's chest throbbed harder every time her and Dave's eyes met.

If she secretly looks at Dave every time he talks to her mom. It was like it was just a joke and she couldn't see the seriousness of it while talking to her mother.

"Aren't you not flirting with Sofia?" Sofia's mom asked Dave.

Dave smiled.

"For now, it's okay for us to be friends. I don't want to rush her." Dave stopped speaking.

"I want me and Sofia to think first." Dave smiled again as he returned her glance to Sofia's mom.

"Maybe much better if she finished her studies. Right now it's more important that you get well and not come back to the hospital." Dave said again.

"I don't want to see Sofia anymore who is worrying you so much because of your illness."

He moves her glance to Sofia. He took a breath. "If ever, I flirt with her I don't want her to rush," Dave replied.

Everything Dave said to Sofia's mother was polite and meaningful.

Sofia's mom was pleased with Dave's respect and support for her daughter.

Sofia sighed, as she smiled as she thought about her mom and Dave's topic.

Sofia's heart pounded slightly.

Sofia felt a strange feeling toward Dave because of what she heard and what came from what Dave said.

Sofia just let Dave and her mom talk while she arranged their belongings.

Sofia has also arranged all the necessities for her mother's discharge from the hospital.

She still has a lot to fix.

Fortunately, Dave arrived early and watched over her mother as she settled all the documents that needed to be signed with the doctor, the admin, and finally the cashier so that she could pay her mom's remaining bills at the hospital.

After she pays her mom's bills at the cashier.

Sofia returned to her mom's room and held the discharge letter so her mom could leave the hospital.

"We can go out now," Sofia said, taking their belongings. But Dave was quick, he also took all from her.

"I will bring all this. You'll take care of your mom." Dave said, taking and carrying all of Sofia's belongings.

On the whole trip, they were just quiet. Until Dave already delivered them home.

Sofia sighed.

She will also say goodbye to her mom for just a while.

She wants to tell her mom that she will go with Dave to work at the house of Dave's friend temporarily.

Sofia hired a caregiver to take care of her mom temporarily while she couldn't go home for two straight weeks.

Her mother wonders what she said. But because Dave Sofia's mom understood why Sofia needed to go with him.

Dave says he begged Sofia to help him. But Dave didn't detail everything to Sofia's mom.

Sofia's explanation to her mom also ended. She thanked Dave for his help in explaining to her mother.
