##Chapter 52 A Useless Threat

Renata was full of confusion and contempt. She glanced at Cliff, who was sitting opposite.

"How can you offer such a request? Isn't it enough for you Todd Group to go through the hardship? Why do you have to get Evans Group involved?"

Cliff froze for a while. He then smiled at her, picked up the coffee, and drank it in one gulp.

Renata looked at him with a little impatience, fiddling with her watch from time to time.

"Are you in a hurry?"

"Uh-huh. So do you have anything else to say?"

"Just this one and you have to promise me."

Cliff said in a peaceful tone but filled with confidence.

Renata, for a moment, felt curious and kept staring at him. She then couldn't help but sneer.

"Are you out of your mind to say that to me? I must promise you? No way."

Renata had already signed a contract with the treaty that they would fully use eco-friendly building materials from Genui Group. If they secretly used that of someone else, it would be a breach of contract and they would have to pay for it.

Todd Group had now offended Genui Group, and businessmen always pursued the interest. They would not go against Genui Group and brought such big trouble for themselves.

In terms of strength, Evans Group wasn't comparable to Genui Group.

So what Cliff asked was simply a joke, and there was no way Renata would agree to it.

"You really don't want to think about it anymore? Although you have a contract, Genui Group won't know what exactly you use. I can offer you a good price. We are businessmen. Why not aim to make money?

"If we use the materials from others secretly, maybe it'll be fine. But the whereabouts of the materials of Todd Group is the primary focus of Genui Group.

I'm afraid it'll be found by Genui Group before we use those stuff," Renata thought.

Renata shook her head and glanced at him without any intention to be moved by the price.

In addition to this batch of building materials, they had other projects to cooperate with Genui Group. Besides, Renata had had a crush on Nathan for so long and was determined to be Mrs. Harris. How could she possibly offend Genui Group for such a small benefit?

Besides, if she really did so, she would have to pay much more than the current benefit.

"Stop it. No matter how attractive the price is, I will not agree."

Cliff looked at her and smiled coldly, looking like he didn't take her words seriously.

Seeing Cliff's expression, Renata had a look of contempt. She then picked up her bag and tried to leave.

Getting up from the chair, Renata looked at him and said, "Even if it's free of charge, it's impossible."

Cliff sighed and looked at Renata with vague anger in his eyes.

"I'd like to remind you of something. Don't forget that I helped you collect some of the evidence you framed Sharon. If I prove those are all fake and you made me do it, what do you think the result will be?"

Renata was panicking for a moment, and she sat down to stare at Cliff fiercely.

Cliff was a coward. How could he really dare to do such a thing?

"Hey, do you mean you want to perish both of us?"

"Todd Group is now facing the crisis of survival. Do you know how serious it will be if all these building materials are not able to be consumed?"

"You deserve it. You're to blame."

Renata replied with a vicious look, seemingly unthreatened by his words.

"You don't believe I'll send the evidence..."

Cliff looked at Renata with amazement.

Renata smiled disdainfully "Whatever! Let me tell you that Sharon is dead. Those things are meaningless. Who would believe that?"

Hearing that, Cliff looked at Renata. For a moment, he froze there with fingers rubbing the cup back and forth.

This was the only bargaining chip he had to negotiate with Renata. He didn't expect it would be of any use at all. He looked numb sitting there in a blank.

"You'd better go back now and figure out a solution,"

Renata finished speaking, got up with a scornful smile, and left.

All of this was heard by Sharon and Rachel, who were sitting on the sidelines. Rachel was confused, but she heard that the two people had set Sharon up.

Sharon froze there, thinking that getting shares would give Cliff a surprise at her birthday party... She was ridiculously silly.

Although she had known for a long time that they designed the trap, after hearing it on her own, her heart still hurt a lot.

Rachel put her hand gently on Sharon's to comfort her. Rachel did not speak, but the kind eyes made Sharon feel moved.

Renata and Cliff left one after another, leaving the two of them here alone.

Sharon got up and returned the glasses and clothes to Rachel. She then walked to the restroom to remove the makeup.

"Let's go back."

Nathan looked at the picture Rachel sent over of her and Sharon hanging out together. He couldn't help but wear a smile.

"I didn't expect they two would hit it off like this."

"I'm sorry? Mr. Harris."

Glenn was standing beside Nathan and looked at Nathan, who was wearing a light smile. The atmosphere in the office was tense because of the busy schedule. Glenn had no idea what could make Nathan happy.

Nathan put his phone away and restored the cold face. He coughed gently, "Nothing." Then they went downstairs of the building.

Glenn was able to guess that it must have something to do with Sophie.

"Mr. Harris, I gotta go."

"Take care."

Nathan got into the car and drove towards his villa in a hurry.

Separating with Sharon for a day, he became even more impatient to see her, especially after he saw the photos.

When Sharon got home, she grabbed her pajamas and went into the bathroom. The water from the shower sprayed on her, and the conversation between Renata and Cliff kept lingering in her mind.

"I really didn't expect to hear the person who framed me admitted it himself. But I couldn't do anything about it. Sharon, you are such a failure," she thought.

At this moment, she only hoped to wash away the sadness inside her heart, and the bad memories that floated in her mind.

Nathan came home and walked to the living room. Seeing no trace of Sharon, he immediately ran upstairs.

In the bedroom, there was her bag and faint light from the bathroom.

Nathan breathed a sigh of relief. He walked over to the bedroom and knocked on the door.

Sharon was stunned for a moment but didn't reply. She was still enjoying the feeling of the warm water spraying on her body.

"Open the door."

"Wait a minute."

Nathan called out since there was no response.

Sharon answered him in a lazy tone.
