Chapter 31: Making a Jewel Sparkle and a mad father

Yunyun woke up and thought that everything that had happen yesterday was a dream.

Her summoning circle failed and didn't summon a demon to be her friend.

Yet, a warm hand was placed on her head as her body shook but then realized who it was after hearing that soothing voice belongs to.

"Rise and shine Yunyun. Its morning and I've prepared breakfast for you." Hearing his voice, she quickly turned and saw Hiroki who had his devilish grin as he pulled his hand away from her head and leaned on her chair.

"I just met your father and introduce myself to him which was settled 'Peacefully'. It seems he really loves you so much that he wanted to test me to see how strong I was." He just laugh considering that despite the disadvantage he had against a Crimson Demon's Long Range attacks, he still easily overpower him with his physical prowess. Considering that he was strengthening himself with the orbs that boost his physical and chakra reserves, he also had been training and sparing with Guy, who was a Taijutsu expert in his world.

It also the fact that he didn't want to harm Hiropon that he held back his punches and didn't even consider using guns or weapons to beat him since he was Yunyun's Father afterall.

But he kinda overdid it because he might have a 'Slight' hatred for fathers...

Their battle wasn't even a hard fight and Hiroki was even nice to help around the place as compensation for beating him to a pulp.

"Your father even ask if I wanted to marry you in the future which is kinda funny. Hahaha." Hiroki seem to take it as a joke which Yunyun's eyes widen as he quickly realize that it might hurt her and explained to fix the misunderstandings.

"But I kinda said no since I definitely didn't want to ruin love that can be born after two people spend time together. Its just wrong to just settle marriage over some political stuff you know. Plus, your a girl Yunyun and Marriage for girls are sacred right?" Hiroki understands that true love might be rare in this world considering how aristocracy had influence the thinking of people here. Which is why Hiroki wanted Yunyun to believe that True Love exist and she can fall for any guy she wants since he didn't plan on stopping her if she fell for another guy.

Hiroki was just a friend. Friends with benefits? Am I a horny teen or an adult who wants to trick girls into believing that girls are just properties for men to keep? Hiroki were to fall in love, he would rather stick to a monogenous relationship over a harem.

Knowing in the anime, He wanted Yunyun to be happy since in the show, it was only seen to trick the viewers to make Yunyun a comedic character but in real life? Thats just cruel, toying some innocent girl just because she can't have a friend.

Especially Hiroki who knows what its like living in a world where no one would know about you and your family tends to hog the spotlight. He wanted to at least be there for her, something he didn't have in his previous life.

"Um...Are we really friends?" Still dazed, Yunyun really can't believe that she has one. Too Pessimistic that she has a friend now. But seeing that warm smile Hiroki gave off, she was too nervous that Hiroki was just teasing her.

"Right...Crimson Demons...got it." Muttering under his breath, he stood up and walk a bit farther before turning back to her with a dramatic pose.

Hiroki made a dramatic pose as he bent his back in a small degree while lowering a bit of his neck to make a head tilt, his arms raised up in the air. Forming a difficult pose which might hurt his body if done incorrectly.

"I am in need of a partner. From a new land, unknown to this acursed being of the East. Would a child of the Crimson Demons, be fated with mine?" He then lowered his hand, moving it close to Yunyun. Who at first feels a bit embarrassed but soon realizes what Hiroki was doing and felt happy which she took his hand.

"I, Yunyun from the Crimson Demon Village, would willing to be a companion to the accursed Demon. For I, Yunyun will become the greatest Arch-wizard and be the chief of the Crimson Demon Clan!" Making Yunyun smile was something Hiroki felt warm in his heart as he didn't want the girl to be like her anime counter-part which she was made to be a joke character.

He wanted her to get pass that insecuries she has and be a better person that isn't tied to just be made fun off. A girl who has grown up and be a wonderful girl.

For Hiroki, a beautiful girl is like a bird. Free to fly and spread her wings. No matter what obstacles she goes, the wind beckons the bird to fly straight to its destination.

Independent, full of life and always be seen walking on a road paved by the people she made friends with along the way.

He wanted her to be like that, because someday, he might not be always be beside her. While she walks in the light, Hiroki will never be able to step into the light with her. Because he is too dirty to walk on that light.

"Hiroki, is something wrong? You've been spacing out." Yunyun could see the that Hiroki felt a bit loss and was worried that something might happen to him but he just woke up from that and turned to her in a smile.

"R-right. Sorry Yunyun. Got myself lost for a minute. We should really go or your father is going to get mad at us." They stepped out of the room and meet up at the dining table as two people had already seated as Ria had began eating. Hiropon just sat at the front table, smiling at his daughter before glaring at Hiroki with hatred in his eyes.

'You damned bastard trying to steal my daughter! I won't let that defeat stand from you taking her away from me.' Hiropon stared daggerly at Hiroki, trying to see if he could use his eyes as a murder weapon.

Hiroki who saw his glare, just smiled warmly, thinking to himself 'Wow, he really won't let me be friends with Yunyun. But that won't stop me for I, Hiroki, would be the bestest friend Yunyun will ever had in her life.'

Having an idea, he quickly made a move as he pull a seat which he beckons Yunyun to sit here as he smugly stares at Hiropon with a warm smile. 'See Mr. Hiropon, am I the greatest friend your daughter has ever seen?'

*Crack*

"You have such a wonderful friend Yunyun. But I can't let you hang out with this young man here. He is a demon and you can't just befriend him Yunyun." Hiropon tried to warn Yunyun about making deals with the devil. They can be deceitful and full of tricks that might not end well for his lovely daughter. He curses himself of not being able to help her make friends because he is too busy handling the Crimson Demons and their antics.

The Crimson Demons might not act much on the outside world but in the village, there have been countless expenses that he had to allocate, especially a certain clansman that has been trying to take loans to support his buisiness when he couldn't even properly feed his own family.

But seeing how this bastard is now stealing his daughter...

"Mr. Hiropon is right. Yunyun, it seems that I can't be your friend since a demon like me can't seem to be a proper friend for you..." Hiroki held his head down as he didn't want the people see his disappointed look. Looking as if he really felt sad that he can't get close to Yunyun.

"Hiroki..." Yunyun wanted to say to Hiroki that she really wanted to be friends with him but she can't upset her father.

"Its fine Yunyun. I'm just glad that you had accepted this 'Evil' demon to be you friend. I can rest easy that breaking the contract would make it easier for me now..." While his head was down, he started walking away while gesturing Ria to head with him, accepting that he lost and just wanted to walk away.

But then.

"Don't go! I want Hiroki as my friend. Please Dad..." Yunyun hugged him while staring at her dad with a pleading look on her face as Hiropon was shocked that Yunyun manage to stand up for herself and confront her father like this.

"Yunyun...I just..." He tried to protect her from the dangers of the world as Demons are...

Then.... He saw Hiroki's face.

That face...

Lifting a wide grin which Hiropon can't help but want to punch that bastard's smug look, looking down on him as he patted her daughter while she couldn't see that disgusting look.

"Yunyun. I'm sorry but your 'Father' doesn't want me to be near you since I am a 'Demon' after all. I really can't ruin your bond with your father." Hiroki emphasize the Father and Demon, trying make it seem that Hiropon was badmouthing his 'race'.

(Com'on Daddy, don't you love your daughter and make her happy? Can't you just accept me being 'Friends' with her?) Hiroki who felt that this was too much for him but he needed Hiropon to accept him as Yunyun's friend.

'Having convince him this hard, why does this feel like I am asking for his daugher's hand in marriage?' Hiroki suddenly felt like this was a bit much to try and convince him to be Yunyun's friend.

'Nah, must be my imagination. Hiropon just doesn't want me to get close to her because of my race.'

"Can Hiroki be my friend?" Yunyun said as she also seems that her father was a bit overreacting over being friends with Hiroki.

Seeing that the two had him cornered, Hiropon could only grit his teeth and reluctantly accepted Hiroki as Yunyun's friend as both of them smiled at each other and high-five with joy.
