The kingdom of the Malaise (29)

Five hundredth and forty fifth entry

This new man we have encountered... He was nothing but an anomaly.

Five thousand years ago I saw the great power that the Royal court mage Elric held and was amazed by the magic that the man show cased.

It was beautiful and the show of magic he show cased on eliminating the being called [Mama Tick]

Sadly the monster soon resurrected none the wiser after a cycle, but it gave me hope that in this infinite time scape that I could reach his level.

But after he took me under his wing, it was only then that I learnt of the intricacies of the magic arts and how complex and complicated they were.

Five thousand years later I have to admit that I lack talent, but this strange anomaly like man was different.

Although he used the physical combat system unlike the magic one that I am so used to.

Much like the rest of the residents that I know of on this island, the father daughter duo of a lineage of tailors being one of them.

This man was incredibly skilled in... well everything.

Through some sort of spatial artifact that stored his weapons, the man wielded everything.

From swords of all sizes, spears, bows, hammers, Axes, gauntlets, arms and legs.

There was nothing that the man could not do.

I have once also seen him use a zombie as a weapon although I don't know how much of what I saw was true.

The society that remained after the fall of the Malaise infected kingdom was... unique, which made sense when accounting for the fact that us humans as a species were a rather adaptable species.

But nevertheless, it was incredibly unique.

A good majority of the survivors here were battle hardened warriors, which made sense as literally everywhere monsters roamed.

The lesser minority were not battle hardened warriors, but from what I saw they could hold their own in a fight.

Which again, made sense when considering monsters could appear at every moment.

When we arrived at the base camp they were being beseiged by a flying swarm of [Kamikazes] the strange suicidal green bats.

[Bats] red worm like creatures with bone white mandibles.

[Buzzcutters] large red beetle like creatures with leaf like wings and large scythes that were hidden in their shells.

And many other flying critters, all deadlier than the other.

And I think that I saw a man scream as they were taken by the swarm of flying critters and torn apart into a rain of blood.

It was a gruesome battle, one that quickly ended underneath the grand magic of the old man named Elric.

Calling a thunderstorm and bringing down literal bolts of lightning, large swaths of creatures were turned into charred corpses, summoning tornados to sweep up the flying monsters and shielding others all in one go.

Seeing the strength of the court mage with the ability to call down natural disasters with his will.

I couldn't help but wonder.

How the hell did a kingdom with such strength fall?

But I couldn't ponder on the question for long as I was soon swept into the battle fray and my attention was placed on all around me.

Remembering of the purple hoards I slightly shivered and allotted a bit of my attention for outside interference.

But spinning through the air, I distinctly noticed the difference.

When I was fighting the newly risen monsters, it wasn't as noticeable due to having to exert a lot of effort to even find an untouched target.

But here where there was nothing but monsters?

Well let me tell you.

'What is happening?'

A distinct clarity filled my head as I continued to fight the flying hoard, and without any concentration the mana filled vision activated.

Dotting my surroundings in a series of orange and blue stars.

Sensing the orange stars somehow that were behind me, I twisted my torso mid air to smash the nutcracker and the [Kamikazes] trying to attack me.

Their green fluids exploded mid air, igniting a chain reaction of explosions with their green brethren.

Something I couldn't care to admire as I was now vulnerable in the air.

A glance to the side revealed a series of bats getting ready to dart at my current position, and all other positions but up and down were revealed.

Shield charging upwards to the clearing, the bats rushed to my previous position.

Catching the attention of a variety of other monsters, I activated the newly gained rune that I had gained from killing the elite slasher in the Ossuary.

[Ram Rune - This rune allows you to wield the power of gravity and crash down with the force of a hundred rams]

Causing mana to flow down through my body to my feet, I felt my body gain immense weight as I quickly stopped ascending and started descending.

Bringing a spiked shield to cover my legs, I felt a tremor run through my body as I rushed through the air like a meteor.

Rushing through the air, a myriad of bodily fluids exploded out of the bodies.

Mostly from the impact, sometimes from actual explosions.

Streaking through the air, I distinctly felt mana? move behind my back.

Continuing to fall I saw how a Buzzcutter seemed to manifest a small scythe on its back and tried to attack me.

But I was a bit to fast for it to catch.

Crashing to the ground, the Ram rune did the rest of its job.

Creating an explosive attacking force of nature around me.

A small crater formed around me upon impact, crushing a few of the land based monsters and tossing away more then a few.

Creating a cone of safety around me that got quicky filled with the monsters that were literally everywhere I looked.

Smiling for reasons unknown to me, I put my hands to the ground and put my mana into the vine runes carved into the skin of my arms.

Feeling the plants dwelling deep underground, I called upon their strength and caused the earth to shift.

Dragging thick trunks of wood out of the ground, the gigantic wooden tentacles thrashed around crazily, eradicating anything that came in contact with them.

And with the amount of monsters that filled both the sky and the ground.

It became a living meat grinder.

Of course after that I felt a mental blow to my head as I felt inexplicably weak and my body became limp.

But after overexerting myself in trying a new move that I didn't even know how effective it could've been.

I fell asleep and woke up in the camp of survivors.

Edited chapters are now finished, for an update I got rid of a majority of the goblin invasion in favor of buffing the eye of Cthulhu.

Slight insanity at the caves completely erased and making it so the three girls meet him faster.

Made them closer.

Teacher ninja doesn't eliminate that many King slimes and the teaching arc is fleshed out.

Elf guy is also made fren and little egg dude is still little egg dude.

Corrupted battle is slightly toned down and less chaotic, without flying swarm.

The Lunatic Cultist gains eldritch knowledge from the guy named Moon lord.

This is mostly what I covered and was the main reason I was late in chapters.

Will prolly focus here unless I find something I no like.
