Year 0, Day 6

--Day 6--

As I saw the arrow hurtling towards me, I had no time to dodge and got impaled through the skull. As I fell down back into the hole- slowly bleeding out onto the stone cold ground, wondering why I haven't died yet as this type of injury should have killed me right when I went through my skull.

After what seemed like hours of torture I felt my body grow weaker and everything around me was going diming. Then darkness- there was nothing, no sound, light, no smell- absolutely nothing. As I marveled at the feeling of being inside an abyss of darkness, I awoke.

-- Deaths * 1 --

--- Remaining Lives * 2 ---

Once more- I saw a bright light through my closed eyes, I felt calm. Soon after I realized I was shot in the head and frantically got up in fear to look for anything out of place. I saw nothing- but the same old withering tree. I had a fuzzy memory of something after I died that I can't quite put my finger on at the moment. I tried to calm down to clear my head so I could remember but it didn't work.

With this new information I discovered- that there are other beings here, I figured I needed to start getting my priorities set straight. I already died once and whether it was real or a dream, I need to be more cautious and prepared for the future so it can't happen again.

"I will be starting by gathering some much-needed supplies needed for my own survival"

Since I was going to start gathering new supplies I reached into my satchel and I noticed something weird- all my items were missing. I was rather positive that no one else was on the island, so that must mean that my death was real and my items are still on my corpse at the Mysterious hole in the ground.

'I need to go and check out that hole again and see if my lost stuff is there'

I quickly began walking towards my destination.

-A Few Minutes Later-

After walking for a bit I noticed more strange creatures. Learning from my lesson last time, I went for cover to observe them from a safe distance.

-1 Hour Later-

After some close observation, I realized that they don't seem to have any objective- as far as I can tell, but as I was making that hypothesis the sun started coming up.

That's when I saw something really strange. The creatures started running like they were scared of sunlight. As I was watching all the creatures running like their lives depended on it I saw a skeleton that looks like the one that killed me.

As I was observing the Skeleton to see if it would do anything differently than the rest- but like the others, it was running to safety, but it was too late- it fell. Desperately trying to survive it started crawling as its bones were evaporating into ash and cinders slowly crawling their way up the skeleton's body.

After watching the creature that killed me get tortured in the sunlight it gave me a wave of relief knowing I was safe during the day. So with the creatures dead and some hiding, I continued walking to my location on the hill.

When I made it back to the hole on top of the hill I got chills running down my spine from the flashbacks of what happened here but I gathered up my courage and continued forward.

After jumping down into the hole I gathered my stuff that was for some reason, littered across the ground- and a corpse of my previous self was nowhere in sight.

'With my stuff now put into my satchel I should make my way back to base to get some wood, but the withered tree seems to be the only tree here on this floating island.'

I started my journey back to my base to gather wood from the withering tree. I figured the wood wouldn't be very useful as it was almost dead, but it is the only tree on this entire island- so I had no choice.

That's when it hit me

'How am I going to get wood from the tree- if I don't have any of the correct equipment-'

I came to realize quickly that I couldn't just use my bare hands to get chunks of wood from a tree because that would ruin my hands and I can't have that happen if I want to survive. So as I continued my journey back to camp, I noticed a small, sharp object on the ground. It appeared to be a black rock but seemed a little rough on the edges.

I picked up the black rock, and it felt heavy- well heavier than expected. 'I could use the rock to get the bark off the tree, it'll be slow but effective'

I put the rock in my satchel and accidentally dropped it on another rock that was lying next to it. I quickly picked it back up and investigated it for any damage. There was a small chip in the black rock where it had hit the small rock on the ground. This got me thinking 'Maybe I can use this rock and chip away at it to get it into the shape of something I need- this can be very useful.'

I decided to grab the smaller rock as well so I can use it to shape the mysterious black rock I had found. I carefully separated the two rocks in my satchel so as to not cause any damage to either of them on the journey back.

-1 Hour later-

I made it back to my base, and quickly grabbed both rocks, and inspected them for potential damages. They both appeared to be fine other than the small chip in the black rock. I quickly started to grind the small gray rock along the side of the black one. I kept doing this for a good 3 hours before it started to get into the shape I needed, which was a small knife or blade. After all this hard work I needed rest- "I'll finish in the morning."

-Year, 0 - Day 7-

I woke up from my sleep and felt rather comfortable. I felt drowsy and lazier today, I didn't feel like working, but I still needed to. I grabbed the two rocks and continued to sharpen the black one into a knife of sorts for gathering resources.

-2 hours later-

I finished the black rock, it was sharp around the edges now, sharp enough to cut bark that is. I got up and walked over to the tree and pulled off a decent-sized stick. I scavenged the ground for a small circular rock I could use to create a hole on the bottom of the black rock. I eventually found one and used it to press a hole in the bottom of the black rock- which took some time.

-1 hour later-

I needed something to make the stick actually stay inside the hole in the bottom of the black rock so I could use it on the tree without cutting my hands. I thought of something I could do- it just came out of nowhere- 'Obsidian!'

I quickly grabbed the bottle of lava and bottle of water out of my satchel and softly pushed the black rock into the ground to hold it still. I set the stick softly in the hole on the black rock- I prepared the water- ready to dump some on the whole stick in case it caught flame. I slowly tilted the bottle of lava and let a little pour into the hole with the stick inside it. I quickly poured a little water at a time into the hole to turn the lava to obsidian. I saw it was working- I poured a little more water in the hole in hopes to cool it down quicker.

-30 minutes later-

The water had dried and the lava had fully turned into obsidian. I tried to pull the stick out to test its strength, and it didn't even move, it was strong- sturdy. There was still a significant amount of both the lava and water left in the bottles- Plenty for any other later projects.

I picked up this new tool I had made and began using it on the outside of the tree to collect bark. After a few minutes, I gathered around 13 pieces of bark and a couple of sticks.

I began thinking back to see if I had missed anything valuable at any point in the past and remembered an item called the "crafting table." I didn't know if it had any use but I figured I would check if it did. I grabbed the crafting table and set it down- it was surprisingly light for its size.

I tried for hours to figure out what it did but came to no conclusion. I was tired- and exhausted from this- I was about to give up until I remembered the runes on the inside of the little book on the left. I opened the small book and saw a list of boxed items drawn down in the book- I looked closer in surprise thinking I was seeing things- but it was actually real.

Out of an odd instinct, I pressed one of the squares. The ink seeped into the page and changed into a recipe of sorts. It asked me to place 2 sticks in the lower middle 2 squares, and 3 pieces of bark along the top 3 squares. I did what it asked, intrigued with what this was going to do after I placed the last piece of bark along the top of it glowed a bright white, and what I saw was unbelievable.
