“Mia isn’t a baby girl!” she uttered with gritted teeth. A tear rolled down her cheek.
Kevin opened his mouth to speak but he couldn't.
Mia blinked and wiped the tear off. Sniffing, she glanced at the boys. All of them were beaten up badly and needed medical attention. She inhaled deeply, and at that very moment, her eyes met with those of Kevin's. His soft, caring eyes ensnared her. Unknowingly, she was holding her breath as the attention which she was getting, aroused ten different emotions in her.
Placing both of his hands on the floor, he stood back up without breaking their eye contact.
The girl who barged in fearlessly; the girl who had soulless eyes; the girl who killed eight sturdy, muscular men along with her wicked step-father without a hitch, turned vulnerable with a gaze.
Kevin limped towards her. She was standing still, staring back into his spellbinding eyes.
He came close, closer… closest to her.
