Chapter 5: Battle Trial

Foundational Hero Studies, the class that separates Hero Course from other courses, and a class that starts in afternoon.

"So, what is the watch for?"

Kirishima curiously asked Ryu who was leaning against the wall.

"It's important to keep track of time especially as a Hero."

Ryu parted his look from his watch and took and looked at Kirishima.

"Your outfit is... Interesting, did you get inspiration from anywhere?"

"Crimson Riot, he is my idol."

"Crimson Riot..."

'I don't really remember a Hero named Crismon Riot.'

Ryu only took intrest in heroes that used unique and uncommon quirks. He didn't really have an interest in heroes who had physical enhancement quirks.

"Who's your favorite hero?"

"My favorite Hero... Probably Architect."

Kirishima tilted his head at the name.

"Architect?"

"Yeah, he is from Germany."

"I haven't really heard of him."

Kirishima knowledge of Pro Heroes was mostly limited to Japan. He didn't know much about Western Pro Heroes expect for a couple famous ones like Star and Stripes whom everyone knew about.

"His main thing is that he controls the battlefield extremely well. If you face him as a Villain, you better get rid of him first or your chances of winning are slim."

Kirishima nodded his head in understanding when suddenly Ryu's watch started giving alarms.

"Get ready, the match is gonna start in a few seconds. I will roam around the floors to intercept them, you stay and defend the bomb."

"Got it."

Kirishima exclaimed as he bumped his fists toegther.

Ryu quickly slided down the stairs and started roaming around the hallways.

'I can handle that guy Bakugo, Kirishima should be able to hold the Acid Girl back.'

As Ryu was thinking how to handle Bakugo, the wall beside him suddenly exploded into pieces.

He quickly maneuvered out of the way of the debris and got ready for fight.

"I will show you who is Number 1, skate boy."

'That's not a nickname I expected to get, but well.'

Ryu quickly rushed towards Bakugo with the intention of cornering him.

Bakugo quickly aimed his hand at him and sent an explosion towards him as he backed off.

Bakugo had guessed that Ryu's quirk was touch based, so he kept his distance with him.

Ryu easily dodged the explosion and got closer to him.

"Tch."

Bakugo used his explosion to destroy the floor to prevent Ryu getting close to him. But unexpectedly for him, Ryu jumped onto the wall and walljumped towards him.

Bakugo shot another explosion towards Ryu and used one to propel himself backward.

But what he didn't expect was for Ryu to change his trajectory mid air.

Ryu dodged his explosion, landed on the floor and continued rushing towards Bakugo.

'What the fuck is this guy?'

He aimed both of his hand towards Ryu and peopled himself backwards as he sent an explosion towards Ryu, but he just slid under the explosion.

Bakugo temper slowly reached it's limit as the chase continued.

"Fucking just die!"

He aimed his Grenadiers towards Ryu and wrapped his finger around the pin to pull it.

But suddenly, they broke, his Grenadier Bracers broke into piecies before he could even pull the pin.

'Huh?'

He glanced at his now empty arms, then he looked at the location where Ryu was supposed to be, but instead, he was in front of him.

'How?'

He could feel Ryu's punch impacting his gut.

'How?!'

He expected Ryu to continue and pursue him, but he didn't come forward, allowing Bakugo to straighten himself and look at him.

"Why did you stop?"

"Our fight was over the moment I was able to touch you."

"What does that mean?"

"It means I won."

Bakugo gritted his teeth, what the fuck did this guy mean?

How he had won when he was still standing.

Ryu simply turned his back to him and started leaving.

"Don't Joke with me, you shit!"

Bakugo propelled himself forward using his explosions.

"I will show you why I'm the Number 1!"

Ryu just ignored him and kept skating away.

"Come here you bastard!"

He chased after Ryu, Bakugo was barely able to keep up, but as the time went, Ryu started strangely slowing down, was it because he was tired?

'Who the fuck cares?!'

Bakugo quickly caught up with Ryu, and as he reached him, he aimed his hand forward, ready to send an explosion at Ryu's back.

But suddenly, he felt as if he was hit with a truck.

He was swung back all the way to the end of the hallway and hit the wall.

Bakugo feel that his insides were a mess, his body hurt like hell.

"How?"

Ryu was standing in front of him.

"You took the bait better than I expected, you really need to work on your temper."

His words should've sounded sarcastic, but his tone eliminated any trace of sarcasm and made it seem like a genuine advice, but Bakugo could hardly grasp them because of his pain, he was angry, he wanted to tear Ryu apart, but he couldn't move his body.

Ryu positioend Bakugo in a more comfortable position, then stood up and left, this time he didn't come back, it wasn't a bait.

Bakugo lost for real.

Ryu quickly slided his way towards the upper floor where the bomb was placed, what he saw was Kirishima fighting with the Acid Girl, Mina Ashido.

"Ashido, Bakugo lost, just surrender."

They both stopped fighting as they heard Ryu's voice.

"Ehh? He lost? I thought he would be able to hold you back until I touch the bomb..."

She wasn't wrong, if Ryu hadn't showed up, chances were, she could've defeated Kirishima with her acid and touched the bomb to win.

Kirishima didn't have much defense against her acid, so it wasn't a bad plan, but Ryu messed their plan up by showing up sooner than expected.

Mina held his hand up and surrendered.
