"So this is the Metallo Tribe Village?" Winter asked her new boss, "I was expecting a lot more... Metal." She commented, considering the name.
Akira nodded at that, "They're called Metallo mostly because of their technology, not becuase of their use of metal." She corrected, "They use a lot of metal don't get me wrong." She quickly clarified.
The ex specialist looked around a little better, now noticing that even draft animals were actually machines, "I can tell they're modeled after other animals, but I don't recognize them." She said.
"That's probably because they're native to our world." Akira explained "But that's not why I brought you here." She informed, "I need to show you something you need to keep in mind at all times." She told her assistant.
Following Akira, Winter couldn't help, but wonder what she was going to see, at least until they got to a building that's guarded by only Meseri-Metallipedes, "...Aren't you kind the strongest Meseri there is?" She asked, realizing this meant there would be something dangerous inside.
"One of the strongest." Akira corrected, "But yes, volunteers that want to keep people from doing anything stupid." She confirmed, "You'd be surprised at how many corpses we need to remove on a daily basis..." She commented, knowing how many are ignorant enough to even attempt that.
At the sight of Akira, the guards stepped aside, letting her and Winter in, "You must be quite the influential figure here..." She noted.
"I'm the one who founded this building in the first place." She informed, "The Hunter's Guild is probably the richest organization on Fearere." She said, gaining a very slight smug smile.
"I guess from the documents I've read, it's the biggest supplier of beasts parts..." Winter rationalized, but snapped out of her thoughts right after Akira put one of her legs in front of her to make her stop walking.
Akira looked at Winter, "That monstrosity." She said pointing at a sphere made out of a glowing substance, "We had to seal it inside a ball of pure Source just to keep it contained." She explained.
Winter stepped a little closer, "...It's so small small though..." She commented, "Something this size can't be that dangerous." She noted.
"You think the whole creature is contained in there?" The Metallipede asked with a smirk, "It's a shard of it's claw." She corrected Winter's assumptions.
"...A shard of it's- Why is it guarded so thightly?" Winter asked confused, "Is it powerful? To get people to... Not use it?" She asked.
In response to the questions, Akira just shook her head, "All you need to know is that as long as it's in there, it can't hurt you..." She told Winter, her face turning slightly green.
The moment she said that, she picked up Winter and carried her out, wnating to get away from it, not knowing that there's a certain crow hiding in the room.
As they got out, the crow flew down to the ground, before transforming back into Raven, "If one of those that think the Grimm are a joke is afroid of this little thing, it must be an incredibly powerful artifact." She thought to herself, an evil smile appearing on her face.
Five days later.
"Why would they steal a drill?" Ironwood asked Qrow, "I know your sister has very particular methods of operation, but this seems weird even for her." He pointed out.
Qrow shrugged in response, "There's no reason as to why she would possibly need one, especially at this moment in time." He explained, "Unless she decided to make an honest, and I say honest with a thousand quotation marks, honest living." He suggested.
"How? By mining?" Ironwood asked with an unsure expression, "...You know, that's not really important at the moment." He said, turing to Willow, who just stopped by to report the theft.
The new CEO of the SDC looked confused at that, "Not important? A valuable piece of mining equipment was stolen from under mine, and all my worker's noses." She pointed out.
Ironwood nodded at that, "The thing is that Akira said came here herself to warn us that something incredibly dangerous from her world was stolen." He explained, "And the material it was sealed in is almost indestructible." He added.
"Meaning something like a mining drill could probably open it." Qrow conclued with a worried face, "We need to hurry." He said, getting ready to fly over to Beacon to warn Ozpin and the newly humbled Salem.
"I'll get my men working to find the signature of this material." Ironwood said, getting his scroll out to make a few calls.
Branwen Tribe Camp.
Raven smiled, seeing her men ready the drill to open up the sphere of source, "This could truly give us the upper hand over the rest of Remnant..." She contemplated.
"Are you sure this is a good idea though?" Vernal asked, "This has the possibility of backfiring a lot, we don't even know what it is." She pointed out worriedly.
The Spring Maiden thought about it, "From what I heard it's a claw shard, maybe it's imbued with the power of the creature it once belonged to." She suggested, before a crack was heard.
Turning to the sphere, they saw that it was broken, to which Raven smiled and reached inside the shell of it, pulling out a ivory white shard, smaller than even her pinky, "This is what they're so scared of?" She said outloud.
"Raven!!" Someone called out, making her turn to it and see Qrow followed by Yang and Tai, "You have truly gone too far this time!" He told his sister in and angered voice.
Raven laughed at that, "Too far? This is all necessary for the survival of the tribe." She said, pointing the shard to the three, expecting somehting to happen, but instead nothing.
This display made everyone at the scene, even the others that just arrived like the rest of Team RWBY, some of the best Teams at Beacon, a good portion of Atlas's military, the best hunters of the guild and many Grimm courtesy of Salem stand there in awkward silence.
"...Mom... Do you even know what you're doing?" Yang asked, slightly disappointed at the awkwardess that just happened.
Hearing this made Raven scoff, "I just need a moment to figure out how this works." She responded, but was then grabbed by Akira, who proceeded to pull her away, making her drop the shard.
"Maybe. Just maybe. If you bothered reading some history books from my world, you'd know that this thing wont work for ANYONE!" She exclaimed, emphasizing the last part, before her face paled as she looked at the shard on the ground.
Everyone turned to look at what had the Guild Master so scared to pale, and saw that the shard on the ground was squirming.
