Stage two beasts
The sound of gunfire and the burnt smell of dead ants hung heavily in the air. Hundreds of soldiers steadily advanced, the rifles in their arms spilling reddish-orange flames, leaving trails mid-air as the bullets sped to the ants.
The entire place was filled with countless corpses belonging to the ants, but despite losing such numbers, it was just a small portion of their total number. At strategic positions, snipers gave cover and shot down yellow to red-level ants enabling the others to maintain the pace and also advance.
Melee soldiers had retreated to regain their stamina, fighting for close to two hours took its toll on them. And they had finally given the range soldiers the opportunity to shine. Screeches filled the air, piercing through the quiet embrace of the dark skies. Ants kept falling. The barrage of more than a hundred soldiers using T3-powered guns was too much for the exoskeleton they pride themselves on.
