Melting Her Cold Heart

Cheated on by her fiancé weeks before their wedding, Sara, vowed to never love again. Men could not be trusted, especially with a woman's heart. She had made the mistake once, and that was more than enough for her. Never again would she make the same mistake to give her heart to another. But her resolve began to waver when she came across her new boss, Alexander Legend, a man whose reputation in his expertise and ruthlessness in business preceded him. Respected and feared by many, but to Sara, he was an annoying pest she wished she never met. Too persisted for her liking yet, she finds herself falling, slowly melting in his presence. Getting used to his stolen kisses and hugs and sometimes anticipating them. °°°°° Excerpts “You will fall for me, Sara. One day, I'll have your heart too,” Alex drawled. His voice had a seductive allure that had her heart racing. The fact that his hand was leisurely resting around her waist didn't help her either. “Try as much as you want to,” despite her body begging for his touch, Sara was determined to reject him today and any other day. She couldn't make the same mistake again. “You won't succeed in your seduction. NOT NOW. NOT EVER.” Alex smirked, kissed behind her ear and her body trembled, much to his satisfaction. That was all he needed to keep purising the stubborn woman in his arms right now. “We shall see, Miss Ambrose,” he cooed and then released her. He returned to his seat and asked in a professional tone. “What is my schedule for today?”

Drunk 1

Alex stared at the place where there was nothing about to be considered special, yet je could see the influx of people. People went in and out regularly, especially now that it was after dark.

It couldn't be called a club, nor could it be called a bar. It was somewhere in between.

"Are you sure this is the place, Ian?" He asked as if the blinking signboard surrounded by neon lights wasn't enough to testify to itself. He just couldn't see why she would be here of all places, but then again, if she wanted to drink, a place that's called "Shots" would be the perfect place.

"I am sure of it. Boss," the driver replied. Even looking at the sign board as if to confirm his words.

Alex did not reply and just exited the car. "Stay here and be ready to leave as soon as you get back,' he instructed and shut the door.

Ian, although perplexed, obediently nodded his head. He was already used to the man's moods and domineering ways. But he was still surprised he rushed over, only to go in with a promise to return soon.

Inside, Sara, Anne, and Sandra were giving Jessa a headache. Whenever each one if they picked up a glass for another shot, she would snatch it, but the other would immediately pick up her own, and like that, they went around in circles. Repeating the same act until it garnered the attention of other people. They started cheering to see who would be faster and drink before they had the shot glass taken from them.

"You three are worse than children," Jessa sighed as she massaged her temple. This wasn't getting them anywhere. "Where are those faithful butlers and nannies of these two when you need them?" She said, glaring at the door.

All three ladies lived separately with a lot of distance between them. She could take them to her place, but she didn't want to deal with three drunk women a whole night. They were worse than children right now. She might as well take the one that lived alone and to her place while the others can be taken care of by their helpers at home.

But even those were a no-show.

"Give me your phone again, Anne, I need to call your butler again," she said, stretching her hand to Anne.

"He won't come," she said with a pout, and Jessa frowned. She seized a glass from Sandra and placed it back on the counter.

"Why are you still giving them those? She glared at the bartenders, who gave her a soft smile.

"Sorey Miss, they asked for it," he replied with his hands raised in surrender.

"Don't give them again. They are wasted," she typed the password to Anne's phone and called her butler again. "Anne, what did you mean he won't come?"

"Leave. Butler is…" she burbed "...on leave," she completed her words.

Jessa couldn't before frustrated. It was no wonder he didn't show up. He must be trying to reach someone else. Fine, I'll take you too. So what about you, Sandra? Where is your… nanny?" she jumped to hold Sara from falling off the stool. "Stay still, girl. You are all making me mad."

"Call her, she'll come," Sandra replied with a drowsy smile. "Look there," she pointed at the entrance, she is here."

Jessa didn't have the time to look anywhere else as her vision got restricted by the large man that just appeared in front of her and his hand on Sara's shoulder. "Who…"

"I'll take her back," he uttered at the same time that she was about to speak.

"Hell no," Jessa held his wrist and pulled it off of Sara. "She is not going anywhere with you," she jumped off her stool to shield Sara and the others.

Coming here, Alex searched everywhere and finally found her sitting at the bar counter. Her head was buried in her hand thay he was placed on the counter. There was no doubt she drank more after their call, and now she was top far gone to even kee her eyed properly open.

He shook his head inwardly, but suddenly, she slipped off and almost felt. He didn't know when he ran to her but he was a second too late but luckily, there was someone sane around her who held her in place and prevented her fall.

And now here they were in a staring contest to see who yiels first.

"Huh…? Al.. Alex..?" Sara raised her head and looked up at him. He looked at her and nodded his head.

"You know him?" Jessa asked with her brows knitted together. She knew almost everyone in Sara's life, but this man was a new entry. She didn't know so she couldn't trust him.

"Ye..ah," Sara replied.

"Haha… he handsome," and at the sane time, Anne commented.

Jessa facepalmed as another wave of pain ran through her head, and she knew her headache wouldn't subside anytime soon with the three around.

"Alexander Legend," he pulled out his name card and gave it to her. "I promise she will be fine with me," he had to admit that he was glad her friend didn't back down even after she had agreed to know him. Sara was drunk. Anyone could take advantage of her mayterless of whether she was familiar with the person or not.

Jessa looked at the name on the card, and her eyes squinted at him. Sara's new boss cake to pick her up after a hangover? This was…quite a shock and… surprise.

She looked him up and down and realized just how out of place he was here. Dressed in a long coat with fur around its neck. She was certain that there must be a full-blown suit under that heavy thing. He was indeed a good-looking guy just as Sara had described, definitely one of the finest she has ever seen, but still…

"How did you know she was here?" She puts the card aside. It could prove useful in the future.

"She told me. Check her phone if you must. But I am taking her with me," his tone became stern towards the end, and Jessa knew he was not joking.

She hadn't looked into the man yet, but she would have to do that after making sure that Amne and Sandra were safe.

"Nanny Lee," Sandra called, and Jessa's thoughts paused as she looked at the aged woman who just approached.

"Can I leave now?" Jessa was conflicted.

"Let her decide. If she decides to go with you, I won't stop you," this was the best way. Although drunk, she could still decide.

"Fair enough," Alex agreed, and at the same time, Sandra jumped off her stool, startling him and Jessa.
