"Bro what if we died."

" So what, I don't think anyone would care or anything would happen besides us not existing anymore"

I was talking with my homie 'Adrian' at his home.

Here's my life in short. Grew up in a poor family. Had no friends in schooltime. Took it easy and somehow passed high school. Then studied hard but somehow just failed my college entrances. Worked my ass off with 4 part-time jobs to live in this shit economy, applied at various jobs only to get rejected and then get dumped by my girl cause of a rich kid. I feel like everything I've done so far was just a waste.

"Anyways nobody cares if anything happens to me now. The only one caring about me is you Adrian."

Adrian passes another glass to me*

" What do you mean nobody cares? If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have even passed high school. Be glad you're still alive and somehow living. "

"Be glad? I WOULD BE GLAD IF WE BOTH WERE TO SOMEHOW DIE AND ESCAPE THIS SHIT LIFE."

" Bro you need to stop reading those korean manwhas and actually get to work again. "

"DON'T YOU DARE BRING MY INTERESTS IN THIS. THATS THE ONLY THING KEEPING ME ALIVE BESIDES YOU."

" Like air, oxygen, food and money don't exist... "

I snatched the bottle from him and drank more until I became drowsy..

"So I'm asking you again, tell me. What will happen if we both die ? "

" I already told nothing will happen. Nobody will care about us and our existence would mean nothing. "

"OK SO THAT MEANS WE ARE BETTER OFF DEAD, LETS GOOOO-"

" BRO WHAT DO YOU MEAN LET'S GO??!? STOP DRINKING AND GO BACK TO YO CRIB "

We kept drinking and arguing until we fell asleep on the table.

My eyes did not open but I could hear words.

" Hey there, wakie wakie? It seems this buddy here won't wake up even if his dreams come true."

" BRO WAKE UP, THIS SHIT SERIOUS. WAKE UPPP !! "

I woke up suddenly. I woke up somewhere else and not at Adrian's home.

It was a plain space. Green plains, bright sunny weather, perfect temperature. Seemed like heaven.

I saw Adrian looking at me along with another silhouette.

"Ok bruv I woke up, now tell me what is going on?"

Adrian started freaking out.

" WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT'S GOING ON? YOU FUCKING JINX, WE ACTUALLY DIED!"

"wait what. did we actually die? no way we died from just getting drunk."

A person snapped their fingers intending to get our attention.

" You two humans, stop ignoring me and hear me out. "

"Yes I know, you're supposedly the so called 'goddess' and now you will grant us some OP cheat skill and reincarnate us to some dream world."

" Bro even if we died, there's no way this shit actually would happen- "

The other person started speaking while transforming to take an appearance.

"It seems you both died while arguing and drinking and the other party actually hoped to die. His wish to die was stronger than your resolve to fix his life."

" WHAT DO YOU MEAN WISH TO DIE? BRING US BACK TO LIFE-"

The person took an appearance of a beautiful woman with silver hair, white gown, blue eyes, black accessories, and starts speaking again.

"By the time you ended up here, your bodies already got taken away and cremated. I can't directly interfere there so neither can I bring you back to life, nor reincarnate you back there."

I smiled upon hearing those words.

"Oooo, it's happening just as expected."

Adrian's expression kept changing like he was going through PTSD.

" BRO SHUT UP, DO YOU KNOW WHAT JUST HAPPENED, WE ACTUALLY DIED, EVEN IF WE GET REINCARNATED, WE WONT BE GUARANTEED SOME OP CHEAT SKILL OR SOME NOBILITY OR SOMETHING WHICH WILL ALLOWS US TO LIVE?? "

The goddes speaks loudly to both of them.

"Listen, listen, LISTEN."

"Even amongst the humans, you two are an abnormal case. Looks like you both were locked down from your true destiny due to living in that world which you call 'Earth'. So what I'm going to do is reincarnate both of you into a guaranteed security with some benefits."

"Usually reincarnates like you aren't even allowed to have an audience or ask for a compensation. Still I'm giving you both a chance due to being an abnormal case."

I looked at Adrian grinning like Kazuma from Konosuba [ watch KonoSuba if you don't get it]

"I told you. This stuff actually happens. Now let's plan what will we do."

The goddess intervenes again.

"There's a problem. You will have some sort of power and security in your reincarnation but you won't be able to meet each other for a while until the time comes."

Adrian started tweaking upon hearing the goddess words.

" AHH DANG IT. FIRST THIS STUPID MANGA SHIT COMES TO REALITY. AND NOW EVEN IF IT BECAME REALITY, IT'S FULL OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS."

I patted Adrian's back while comforting him.

"Bro you know we're homies. Let it be anywhere and we'll still find each other."

Adrian seemed like he went through 100 different flashbacks.

"Ok fine. Just make sure to not do some stupid bullshit which will make our new lives worse.

The goddess sighs and speaks again.

"Now the world you're both going to reincarnate is going to be a mediaeval age world. Technology isn't much developed but all fantasy elements exist. You can even develop that world if you want."

"You both will be given some ability and the ability to understand and converse in any media. Enjoy your new lives and make sure to not live it bad again and that it'll make you kill yourself again."

I looked at Adrian again with an evil smile. Adrian grossed like he saw something cringe.

"You know what to do right? Adrian?"

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU STUPID FU-"

The goddess lifts her hand and me and Adrian both disappear into thin air.

She starts smiling hoping what will happen next.
