The design

In the coming week, we arranged to meet together with the initial new plans designed by Yìchén. Rather than meeting at the office, we arranged to visit the site together. So Yìchén, Lu, Genghis, and I left early on a Friday to the site.

"Lan, can we have a bit of breakfast and go?" asked Lu.

"OH!! Luuuu.... you are always like this man..." said Yìchén.

"I have to listen to my own stomach right?"

"Ok, you two... stop fighting I will stop at the nearby cafe to have something. But be quick." I said while Genghis went on laughing at them.

After spending about half an hour having coffee and sandwiches, and talking about our school times. On the way suddenly Yìchén asked Genghis,

"Who is taking care of your sister today?"

"My mother is there, I will take her a cake to make it up to not being with her." Smiled Genghis.

"Why don't you try out something she likes to do?"

"I thought of it too. But still, she needs to forget the past incident. At the moment she likes to do is watch the beach."

"Oh, I see. What does she like I mean does she give any reaction to music or movies?"

"I play the piano sometimes, which makes her listen for about five minutes at a time."

I thought of something and realized that we can have a beach picnic.

"Hi Yin, is your cousin Poppy here or still abroad?" I asked.

"Huh!!! why did you ask for her now? she came back a few days ago."

"Didn't she major in physiology?"

"Yes, but why?"

"Poppy can help Nuo. Why don't we make them be friends? What do you say Genghis?"

"Hmm.. She didn't have any friends after the accident, so I think it's a good idea for her to have a girl interact with her and be her friend."

"Yìchén, then ask your cousin, so we all can have a beach picnic at our place soon."

"Oh ok guys's let's get going, or we'll be late," I said as I knew this is going to go forever.

Genghis was going to the location for the first time and he was so impressed with the draft plan given by Yìchén. I was really happy to see the design incorporating nature nearby.

"Genghis, what do you think about doing the interior for these houses?" I asked.

"I will be very happy to do so. But do you have a time frame for the basic design?"

"Hmm I can give you and Yìchén both one and a half months to complete these," I said.

"Ok, then we all collaborate together and do joint projects," said Genghis.

"Yìchén, I love the initial plan you have. May I add something to the plan?" asked Genghis.

"Yes sure," said Yìchén, and I was thinking what did he want to add."

"Why don't we use the upper open area to be a small garden with freshly pluckable vegetables and fruits?"

"Hmmm... That's good. Let's utilize that space to be a greenhouse, a modern one." I said.

"I agree," I said and looked at Lu.

"I will make the plan for that." I knew Lu will do it because he was the one who is enthusiastic about gardening and farming. He already has an organic farm in his native hometown.

We went on talking about this and how things should be and at the same time I told Genghis about the relaxation garden I had planned. He liked my idea, he told me I should have a talk with his father who was into the landscape design. As he can give me some pointers on some of the ideas I told him.

Everything is now fitting in properly. I have a hunch this time this project is going to work really well. We three together, I can foresee a better future for our designs and constructions. I suddenly had a group hug with them.

"HI... what's up?" asked Yìchén, surprised.

"Nothing. I just felt like we all together will make wonders in the future." I said.

"I hope you won't have any dinosaurs ideas again," said Lu.

"What dinosaur?" asked Genghis.

"This dude since small had a thing for dinosaurs. So he declared one day he will have a dinosaur park " said Lu, reminding me of my childhood fantasy.

"First you find a live dinosaur to measure it ok Lan" teased Yìchén.

After discussing our project at hand, we finalized the basic draft. I told them I want to present the design to the board in a week's time and get everything ready by then.

I went home with Genghis, and he wanted to buy some local sweets for Nuo.

"She might be still up waiting for me." He said.

"Wish I had a sister like you do," I said smiling and looking at what he bought.

"HI, mom," said Genghis.

"Yes, we will be at home in about an hour."

"Ok mom, I got her some sweets. Did she have dinner?"

"hmmm ok mom... I will come and take her out"

"Genghis, is everything ok?" I asked.

"Hmm.. it's nothing. She won't eat without me." he said with a sad look on his face.

"I will talk to her," I said.

I don't know why I have started to like Nuo after I got to know her. I just hope she will be better.
